Anyway, is anyone else out there starting their marching band season?

Problem #3: There's also one point at the right thigh that tends to wear through after a while too. I know exactly what the problem is . . . I always sit with my right leg tucked under me in such a way that it puts pressure there and at the knee. (I'm doing it right now, as a matter of fact.)

But it's also probably a denim quality issue because the majority of them are fairly thin denim (probably a function of my fondness for stretchy jeans - I like never worrying about unbuttoning them ,because I am lazy).
Probably a mix of all of them. Odd cutting and sucky fabric.

But it's also a matter of finding jeans with a waistline I like at said thrift store - it's hard to find jeans that are long enough in the back (and don't "gap") but are short enough in the front.

Eh. You know what the solution to all our problems is? HOMEMADE CLOTHES. The other day I took apart a lovely velvet skirt I never wear and turned it into a shirt that fits me probably better than any garment ever has before. My dad told me I looked like I stepped out of a '70s photograph and to be fair I HAVE seen pictures of his mother wearing similar shirts in that era.
What you get is what you can get, but red velvet in ieans is gorgeous. Try trawling as many shops as you can, sometimes in specialist fabric hops you can get special orders or special discounts ordering directly through them. I've only done it once or twice, mostly for relatives.
I really should start making clothes again, I've only really made a pair of ieans, and a funky hat. I think the biggest detriment is the complete lack of sewing machine or anything but the most basic sewing kit.

    Awesome.

Also, that's your halloween costume this year unless you can come up with a convincing argument to the contrary.

    Wild Cristo was almost caught!

I would say busy, but that'd be a bit of a lie. Been working on and off since January, mostly off. Finally starting to get back into the swing of things. Maybe I'll even start making more than just cursory appearances around here more often.

What I really need to do is start going back over my works in progress and get re-acquainted, but unfortunately Mass Effect 2 is eating my soul right now...

Sadly, we do too. Ours is incredibly high pitched and obnoxious, its terrible.

Yes, but I play Piccolo in marching band. so yes, you're right. *high fives*
