A Touch of the Orient
I've been reading through boards all day (mostly the info threads on the tier system) and I haven't seen much about the Wu Jen (CArc) or the Shugenja (.
I'm mostly curious about the Shugenja, because I'm wondering if it would make a good base for a devine caster class that isn't.... whatever you call the stuff clerics can do.
So! Shugenja and Wu Jen: How are they?town character (retired): gnomas

Re: A Touch of the Orient
Wu Jen's almost indistinguishable from the Wizard, just without the explicit splatbook support.
Shugenja is a dramatically lower-powered divine caster. Like the Sorcerer, but fewer and weaker spell options. That's not necessarily a bad thing -- it can make for spellcasters that aren't too dramatically out of place alongside useful noncasters like Barbarians, Rangers and Rogues.
edit:
You might want to look at the Shuganja Handbook. It gives more in-depth information on how Shugenja work and how they can be built.Last edited by TooManyBadgers; 2010-08-18 at 08:31 PM.
