Favorite Weapon
What's your favorite weapon (real life or no)? It could be an artifact or just an ordinary weapon.
I think my favorite is the hand-and-a-half sword (bastard sword).Homebrew
Please feel free to PM me any thoughts on my homebrew (or comment in the thread if it's not too old).

I'll take a scimitar almost any day of the week for its incredible threat range.

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
I'm in love with Blackrazor. I really am.
I saw Blackrazor for the first time in Baldur's Gate II. I could become evil and get a powerful sword or I could stick to being good. But then. What a fine sword that was! I was tempted, I really was and I succumbed to temptation. Blackrazor was amazing. It was fast, it was strong, it made me stronger, it even healed me.
Then I saw her in Arms & Equipment Guide and then I researched her online. She is so... beautiful. So... powerful. So... awesome!
Then, 4e came and took my Blackrazor away...
Oh where, oh where can my Blackrazor be?
WotC took here away from me!
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
so I can see Blackrazor when I leave this world...

Gargantuan two-handed great hammer. Specifically when wielded by a Pixie with major titan bloodline. Being granted full cover by your melee weapon is awesome.

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
I've always been a fan of the egregiously over-sized hammers. The big blocky metal hammers that would never in a million years actually function as an effective weapon, if they were even capable of maintaining their structural integrity for a single swing.
If I had to pick something a bit more realistic, I like the spear. Good range, relatively easy to use, and cheap to make.

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
In real world, I've no experience with historical weapons, but I've always found the longsword a cool-and-functional looking weapon. I'm told it's rather versatile, too. Because my lack of expertise with historical weapons, I'll just put up a picture of what I imagine to be speaking:

Out of D&D weapons, I'd have to say scimitar or falchion, I'm just a sucker for a good threat range.Quotes:Praise for avatar may be directed to Derjuin.Spoiler

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
Gnome Quickrazors. I really, really like the idea behind them as the perfect hidden weapon. It helps that I'm sort of in love with Iaijutsu Focus right now, too.
I see a lot of people getting these without using feats in builds, which is confusing. How is this possible (without just accepting a -4 penalty)?- Chameleon Base Class [3.5]/[PF]: A versatile, morphic class that mimics one basic party role (warrior, caster, sneak, etc) at a time. If you find yourself getting bored of any class you play too long, the Chameleon is for you!
- Warlock Power Sources [3.5]: Making Hellfire Warlock part of the base class and providing other similar options for Warlocks whose powers don't come from devils.

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
Large longswords like this claymore are always cool.
This one made by Vince Evans, AFAIR, really great looking piece, and extremely well handling weapon.Avatar by KwarkpuddingThe subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing;

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
Real life? Katana .. But that's the Ni-Kyu in kendo talking :3
D&D? There is a sword in the book of nine swords... The kamate? I think... Great sword :DI have to give Paizo credit...
They took an established work and said they fixed it but didn't actually fix it and yet still made money off from it.
How can you beat that?

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
Great Falchion. Hit like a Greataxe, crit like a Scimitar.
Worth a feat? Maybe not, but still a lot of fun.
In real life?
In no particular order, the Egyptian Khopesh, the Mid-Medieval European Longsword, the Later European Sabre, the Japanese Katana, the Roman Gladius.
OK, this is more of list then a favourite, but if I had to choose?
The Longsword.

Re: Favorite Weapon [3.5]
That's not really grossemesser though, but a kriegsmesser to be precise...
And pretty bad Cold Steel reproduction too, that from whatever reason became widely connected with such weapons...
Anyway, somebody mentioned European Sabers, and yes, some of countless types that emerged where pretty sexy, my example of classical polish ones.
