Concerning Paladins
Now, I'll spare you the details, but I have a few questions that need answering.
Is there any feasible way to play a ranged paladin? Is it at all possible to make your smites ranged?
If so, would you kindly direct me to the books that have such information.
If that doesn't work out...
Does anyone have advice for a sound Paladin build. This can include, but is not limited to:
-Spells
-Weapons And Armor
-Magic Items
-Skills and Feats
Even a few tidbits of advice can be helpful.

Re: Concerning Paladins
- Ranged Smite (BoED) is what it says in the tin.
- Serenity (Dragon #306) changes all your Cha-based class features to work on Wis.
- Zen Archery (CWarrior) allows you to use your wisdom instead of dexterity for ranged to-hit.
- Battle Blessing (CChampion) gives you free Quicken on all your paladin spells.
- Several of the Devotion feats (CChampion) work great for an archer.
PF paladin can use Smite with ranged by default, in addition to being a much better class than the standard paladin, so if you can get that allowed, go for it.Quotes:Praise for avatar may be directed to Derjuin.Spoiler

Re: Concerning Paladins
I think the elven racial substitution level for paladins in Races of the Wild gets ranged smite evil.

Re: Concerning Paladins
Alternatively, the feat: from smite to song
you get inspire courage as a bard of equal level when you expend your smite evil but it works against everything, pumps your ranged attacks and those of your allies
