    Default A good EL Calculator?

Are there any truly functional EL calculators ?(that WOTC one sais that 7 CR 1 creatures are a challenge to an EL 7 Party . Right.) or is there a rule of thumb I can follow to calculate CR that I'm unaware of?

If I use one I use this one...

But I ignore the difficulty given both here and in the DMG. CR1 can under really good circumstances be much more challenging than CR 4 opponents. + you should do CR by yourself, not by the book. If it is tough it gets better CR then something chars defeat easily.

    Example clerics and undead...

    Extrapolating from the books:

Tripling the number of creatures increases CR by +3 (apply first)
Doubling the number of creatures increases CR by +2
Creatures more than eight levels above or below the PCs do not grant XP.

By those formulas, you should send nine CR 1 enemies after an lv7 party.

    Ah. I stand corrected. Thanks!

@Kaww I really like your calculator. I'll be using it from now on.
