Default Magic items and the Wealth system

I'm about to start running a modern day campaign, a fusion of D&D and d20 Modern. The thing is, d20 Modern doesn't have rules for magic weapons. I was planning on using the Wealth system as gold pieces make little sense in today's world, but I have no idea how to price stuff. Help?

How to price stuff? www.froogle.com, seriously. You live in the world, just use the US Dollar. Just handwave most costs, and say, "this is how much spending money on frivolous stuff you have this month, after rent, food, taxes, expenses and such", and give them a dollar amount.

And good weapons are expensive. Whether you are talking about a H&K submachine gun or an Albion sword, START at a grand and go up, especially if it's 'magical'.

If they want a loan, basically say, "okay, unless you come into some money, you are going to have much less spending money for (the time it takes you to pay off the loan), after you use the loan to buy whatever you are going to."

Shadowrun 4.0 is always a good option.
