Default [3.5] Alternate uses for x/day abilities?

Everyone knows that the Cleric can make much better use of turn undead attempts than turning undead, and that the Bard can pull some sweet moves with bardic music uses. But what about the Barbarian's rage, or the Paladin's smite? Are there any feats that expend these to do something that isn't raging or smiting?

Negative for either. The Paladin simply gets too few smites/day to make good use of it anyway. At least the Barbarian's rage lasts more than once.

Barbarians can get feats that make their rages have additional effects, though (Destructive Rage, for example).

I think the Pathfinder Barbarian can choose to gain certain skill bonuses when raging, though.

About the closest you can come is the Smite Fiery Foe feat (Frostburn, page 50): the character can exchange any uses of the Smite Evil (or Smite Good for the alternative Paladins) Supernatural ability for more mundane flame-quenching. But how often are you going to go up against fire-based creatures in an Antimagic Field?

Related to this discussion, some Wild feats look okay for druids to expend Wild Shape on, if you're at lower levels perhaps...

Paladin can take the From Smite to Song feat (Champions of Valor). It allows him to burn a Smite Evil use to Inspire Courage as a Bard of the same level. Inspire Courage can in turn be optimized to add 10d6 energy damage to all allies attacks. The Paladin can get extra Smite uses via various prestige classes, Binder, a feat, or a cheap magic weapon in the Magic Item Compendium.

Paladin can trade his Remove Disease ability for the ability to Remove Curse and Break Enchantment, which are far more useful. (Complete Mage).

It's also worth mentioning that like the Cleric the Paladin also gets Turn Undead. But the Paladin is a Cha based class, so he tends to have more uses per day. So he can abuse most of the Divine and Domain feats to the same degree as the Cleric, with Divine Metamagic being a notable exception.

Barbarian can take Channeled Rage (Races of Destiny) and burn a Rage use to add his Str bonus to a Will Save. There are also a variety of PrC and feats that buff his Rage and give him additional abilities when in one.
