A little snag...
Greetings all!
My turn to DM in my group is coming up, and I am in need of some advice.
You see, the campaign setting I have in mind is something like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The players will be an international black-ops force comprised of the greatest soldiers from the greatest military powers in the world. I already have a story, npcs, etc. I've just hit one little snag.
I can't find a rules system that would work for this setting.
Please give any suggestions or advise you might have. I have about another three weeks to figure this out.78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.
Systems I'm familiar with (or at least played):
Spoiler3.5, Pathfinder, Old World of Darkness, Silver Age Sentinels or Tri-Stat, Shadowrun 4th, All Flesh, 40k
My sister: What's in the cave?
DM: There's cave.
Me: How big is the cave?
Dm: There's lots of cave inside this cave.

Re: A little snag...
There was a Halo-styled RPG. That's about as close as it gets to CoD in terms of RPGs.
Except for the actual RPGs.

I don't think a Halo-style rpg would work. I was just looking for a system that I would be able to use to run this setting.

Have you taken a look at True20?

Re: A little snag...
I'm sure you could do something like this using the nWoD core book and only a little bit of tweaking (there are almost certainly resources listing equipment stats for that kind of stuff somewhere, not sure but probably the armoury books will do it).
Also, expect someone to recommend gurps in 5...4...3...2...

Re: A little snag...
I think the Dark Heresy system might work with a little adjustment. My buddy who has had two actual combat tours thought the ranged weapon combat in DH was pretty sharp.

Re: A little snag...
Twilight 2013 is ridiculously high-simulation, but it'd work beautifully if you can get your players to learn the rules.
New World of Darkness would work (you'd want to pick up the Armory and Armory Reloaded books), though it might be less detail-oriented than you'd want for a black ops game.
