The magic seems to be being absorbed through the threads only. If any magical item were to touch it, it'd probably absorb the power.

An invisible elf steps through an invisible rift into the room (not that you would know that), along with all of his scrying orbs, which he sends out in all directions to survey the area. He then creates a hivemind effect among the people there, and speaking to them telepathically as the effect starts, "Hello. I am Ia, I hope that I may be of service to you and vice versa."

How far from the edge of the threads is the spindle?

I'm assuming that True Seeing means that I see the elf.

Theda's head jerks around as ANOTHER elf comes in some kind of teleportation effect. She feels him trying to forge some kind of mental link with her, which she rejects out of hand.

"What is this, some kind of nexus of planar travel refugees. Iivraena, is this one with you?"

Nicos rolls his eyes as another creature materializes in the room. "Yes," Nicos says, answering Theda's question.
"What's Beezlebub playing at?"

The balor shrugs.

"Maybe we were taking too long."

Iivraena had almost gotten an idea. Almost... that was .... until she heard an all-too familiar voice, making her head turn quickly. She shook it as she saw, once again, Ia. "Well well.... the demons must enjoy this game of sorts quite a bit to keep moving us around like we have been." She then tilted her hand in mid-air as she looked to Theda and began to explain, "Well.... sorta. We were comrades.... but him coming here is not my doing if that's what you mean. Truth be told, I didn't expect to see him again. Like I told him, some demon must really enjoy moving us around like pawns." She sighed annoyingly as she looked back at the spindle, trying to remind herself what her previous thought had been about.

"If you will permit me, I have an idea." Nicos says, resolving to try shadow travel.

Theda steps back, giving Nicos room to try whatever he had in mind.

Ring of mind shielding does nothing. You would need to make a DC 53 will save to not have gotten the message or come under the hivemind effect. True seeing does allow you the see him.

Ia sends out a telepathically, "Would trying to destroy it be accepted by Beelzebub? Because I see no problem in sending it out of existence." He then switches to undercommon, "Fancy meeting you here. Are we attempting to seize the tread, or have you all decided to flock to it like flies of a torch for my amusement?"

I call shenanigans. How are you achieving a DC 53 effect? The DC is 12 + the level of a breach (max 6) plus the current level of it's murmur (1), right? Xenotheurgy doesn't even add the casting stat, because as written, they're not spells.

Theda turns to the newcomer.

"How the hell did you know about Beelzebub?"

Iivraena thought a bit before replying back in Undercommon to Ia, "Technically we're trying to figure out how to avoid the threads as they absorb magic and the main goal, at any rate, is the actual spindle; not the thread." She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Theda's question. Even she herself hadn't immediately known of Beezlebub being the main demon they were all working for until recently. Shifting her tongue to Common, she looked right at Ia, "Yes.... I must agree with Theda here. How did you know? After all, I myself only found out not so long ago so how did you find out in mere seconds?" She waited to see what exactly Nicos was up to and if it would work or not.

You find yourself able to pass through the threads while on the other plane though you are unable to interact with anything else as well. You can make your way back to the spindle via bypassing all the threads.

"I'll just leave you to your personal issues then, shall I?" Nicos says, noting the discussing between the two in a language that for the life of him sounded like they were attempting to hiss while there was a rock in their throat. Let's just end this. The last thing we want is more delays.
Nicos seems to slowly fade into black and white, detail steadily becoming less and less apparent as he transfers onto the Shadow Plane. Eventually, he seems to blur into nonexistance, as though hehad never been there.
Nicos brushed himself off and sighed. Shadow travel... Eventually I might get used to it... If he had been wearing gloves, Nicos would have taken them off, if only for style.
He set off toward the empty pedastal in the center of the room, taking care to avoid touching where he remembered the threads to be.

Sorry for the delays in my posting, my wife's car was backed into on Christmas Eve, haven't really had any time. It was parked and no one was hurt thankfully, but it has taken a large portion of time to get things settled.

Nicos closes his eyes, and hopes the transition to the material plane goes well.
Here goes...
Nicos steadily fades onto the material plane where he imagines the spindle to be, grabs it with his eyes closed and fades again as fast as he could.

As you grab the spindle, at first there is nothing.. Then, the threads you had dodged by quickly begin coiling back towards the pedestal. (Make a Dex check. If you make over 13, you can do an action before they try to wrap around you.)

"[expletive]" Nicos grimaced. And I can't avoid them by crossing planar boundries... may as well fight fire with fire...
"Can you do what you can to destroy the threads? Quickly?" Nicos shouts, waving his hand through the air in a dramtic and agressive way at the threads, hoping his magic still works.Or we're all dead... or damned. Or both.

The threads flash bright white for a second, almost as if being super-heated, before unwinding and falling to the ground as harmless thread as the magic is sucked from them.

Theda had reached for her spell bag, the better to help distract the threads` attention away from Nicos, when he seemed to take care of the trouble on his own.

`Well done, sir. If you see a clear path back to us, we should make our way back out of here, just in case the occupants are marshalling some kind of united counteroffensive.`

"Good job. Especially for a shadow caster." Ia says in common.

OOC: What have the scrying orbs picked up? If a map would not be too much trouble, could you post one?

No map will be made because they've already gotten their objective. Your scrying orbs, however, follow the trail that the group lead back towards the entrance. It's that of fiery destruction and bloody bodies with little or no deviation from their assumed path. They apparently have some way to know of where they were going and the quickest way to go.

The Balor arches an eyebrow. If the threads surrounding the spindle have vanished, it seems likely that nothing will prevent Nicos from joining them, Theda again takes the lead in retracing their steps out of the cave complex.

Iivraena felt a sigh of relief leave her. For a bit, it seemed Nicos had almost had a close call. Thankfully, however, he managed to avoid any ---- unfortunate circumstances that may have occurred to him. "Not bad." She got out to Nicos then looked over to Theda. "So... was Beezlebub supposed to teleport you all back to him when you were done? Or how is this supposed to work, if you even know?" Right now, she wanted to get this mission done and over with. It was weird too... usually, she didn't mind dark places like caverns but... this one was making her rather anxious. Why exactly was beyond her. All she knew was she wanted out and sooner preferably than later.

As you all are heading your way back (which I'm assuming you are as Theda is leading you guys again) A small portal opens in the coriander. The demon Insect that guided you through the plane to Beelzebub's Castle (or at least a similar demon) steps through holding a rather wicked looking javelin.. He motions for you to step through with a gesture of his spear.
