    Default Fractional Save Woes(3.5)

Alright, so I'm making a character for a 6th level Gestalt game, and I need some help with my saves. We're using the fractional save variant, which is what's confusing me.

    I've got Wizard 5(+1|+1|+4), Swiftblade 1(+0|+2|+2)//Barbarian 4(+4|+1|+1), Fighter 2(+3|+1|+1)

I've done a bit of reading here and there, and I've figure out that I only get the 1st level +2 once(presumably for each save). So, does this mean that Swiftblade would give me +2 Ref, +1 Will? Would Fighter give me +1 to all three?

So, by my calculations I have +6 Fort, +4 Ref, +6 Will before stats?

Not Person_Man, don't thank me for things he did.

Old-to-New table converter. Also not made by me.

Poor saves are 1/3, while good saves are 1/2+2.

    Add them together.

So, for Fort, we have 5/3 (wizard) + 1/3 (Swiftblade) + 4/2 (Barbarian) + 3/2 + 2 (you only add the +2 once). That gives us a total of +8.5, which we round down to +8.

    For Ref, we have 5/3 (Wizard) + 1/2 (Swiftblade) + 4/3 + 2/3 + 2. That's +6.166..., which rounds down to +6.

    For Will, we have 5/2 (Wizard) + 1/2 (Swiftblade) + 4/3 (Barbarian) + 2/3 (Fighter) + 2. That gives us a total of +7.

    Edit: Ignore me!

I have to disagree with Yuki_Akuma in gestalt you only take the best of each side not add everything.

I'll try to calculate myself and see what I get.
First a good save is equal to 2+1/2 the level in the class that grant it and a poor save is equal to 1/3 the level in the class that grant it.

You have 6 level in class that grant a good for save (barbarian and fighter) so that give us 2+1/2*6=2+3=5
Your fort save should be 5.

You have 5 level in class that grant a poor reflex save (wizard/barbarian/fighter) and 1 in a class that grant a good fort save that give us:
1/3*5+(2+1/2*1)=1.666+2+0.5=4.1666.... round down we get 4

You have 6 level in class that give a good will save (wizard and swiftblade) it's the smae situation as the fort save so it's 5

    That give you
    {table]Fort|Ref|Will
    +5|+4|+5
    [/table]

    I hope that help.

    Thanks.

I definitely like my new saves better, too.

EDIT: Nevermind, I don't like the new saves...

Still, it's good that I got this resolved. Thanks again.

    Oh wait, gestalt?

Okay, yeah, ignore my post. My reading comprehension doesn't work ten minutes after waking up.
