They're really, really cool; good job, man.

I'd love to see them able to be Familiars, to be honest. I'm not sure what sort of bonuses they'd get, or even if it's a good idea...

As for familiars... perhaps they can give a +3 bonus on all checks to aid another?

That's a really good idea, actually... I like that. Will that be for the Worker or the Warrior?

    That's a good question...

My initial response would be the worker, because the warrior would be far too aggressive to train as a familiar (and the fact that they have poison and the die hard ability makes them stronger than other choices as familiars), but without the presence of the queen, the worker would quickly mutate into one herself.

I'll include fluff that says that the ritual that makes the worker a familiar permanently gets rid of the creature's ability to become a queen.

Swinging the tail through cover, demolishing it and dealing extra damage with the weight.

Basic worrying would be nice; y'know, just dealing damage automatically, without a grapple check, in a grapple for the cost of a manoeuvre...

Some kind of claw frenzy and a talons-first leap would also be nice [the front claws being "pounces"]

    Hello LOTRfan,

I was wondering if you'd make a few dinos for me or if you know where I can find them. I don't exactly know what I want though...I need some salt water dinos, 3 more plains dinos, 2 more forest dinos, 3 more marsh dinos, and 3 marsh creatures such as slugs and bugs that would be dino sized...

I'll be running this campaign in about 3 weeks...I've also used all of the dinos posted in this thread (THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!) as well as the dinos in the MMs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Yikes, that's a big order.

I'm working on Tygre's order, now, so one of the aquatic prehistoric beasts will be done.

I'll see what I can do, but I wasn't even [pumping that many out in such short a time when I was most active. Also, I suggest you check out Stormwrack, if you have a chance. There are three (maybe four) prehistoric beasts that might fit, as well.

How have the dinosaurs worked for you, so far?

Wow. That's a lot, and I don't think he has that much time. Not to mention that without some sort of specifics to start on... OK, so you've got the general areas, but even the Tera-dactyl (did you finish those, i forget) started with a general idea.

You may not get that many within your deadline, is all.

No worries about the time limit. I'm not asking you or any one to make that many dinos...just looking for some suggestions. I'll definitely check out the Stormwrack book. I own it but didn't realize it had dinos in it, thanks!

The dinos I've used so far are working out great! I drew my own map with each Dino's territory and everything!

I've been looking at different dinos and I've found one I'd really like have made, if you do get time. It's Compsognathus, like on Jurassic Park. If that's possible that would be great! I'll work on finding Dino sized slugs and bugs, see what I can turn up. Again, thanks for any help anyone can offer!!!!

Compsognathus? You don't happen to have Dragon 318, would you? It had ten additional dinosaurs, many of which cover the creatures you need.

Even if you don't, I have a link for you.

Those creatures are the actual stats from Dragon. I have no idea how they were able to post 'em without getting in trouble, but they are all there.

So, the elemental dinos are back on? Oh hurrah!

    Yes... what did we have?
Pyroraptor -served as inspiration for the others, complete
    Aquaceratops - as Blynkibrax said
Teradactyl - a rocky flying one (not redundant at all, in fact quite the opposite)
Aerosaurus Rex - the windy thundering sovereign lizard.

And I bring you Hobb's Leviathan (a.k.a. Gigantoserpen). Am I the only one cheesed off that I am updating at a rate of once per week? Its annoying the heck out of me.

Anyway, I am sort of unsatisfied with the CR on this one. It seems that VP's CR calculator begins to fall apart once the sack of hp is too big. Ah well. Using the calculator, this thing comes up as CR 34; an obvious impossibility, if only because having this thing attack epic PCs is like feeding it to a whale-sized meat grinder. I dropped it to CR 21, and made the abilities pretty nasty. More play testing is neccesary to get an actual CR, though...

    Gigantoserpen
    Colossal Animal (Aquatic)
    Hit Dice:
    34d8+442 (595 hp)
    Initiative: +2
Speed: Swim 40 ft. (8 squares)
    Armor Class: 34 (-8 size, +30 natural, +2 Dex), touch 4, flatfooted 32
    Base Attack/Grapple: +25/+48
    Attack: Bite +25 melee (4d6+13/19-20)
    Full Attack: Bite +25 melee (4d6+13/19-20), and 2 Slams +19 melee (3d6+7)
    Space/Reach: 30 ft./20 ft.
Special Attacks: Improved Grab, Swallow Whole, infected bite
Special Qualities: Lowlight vision, keen scent, feces expulsion
    Saves: Fort +34, Ref +23, Will +13
    Abilities: Str 25, Dex 14, Con 37, Int 2, Wis 11, Cha 8
    Skills: Listen +39, Spot +2, Swim +15
Feats: Alertness, Great Fortitude, Improved Scent, Improved Critical (Bite), Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Overpowering Stench, Rancid Smell, Uncanny Scent Weapon Focus (Bite)
    Epic Feats: Epic Scent
    Environment: Warm Aquatic
    Organization: Solitary
    Challenge Rating: 21
    Treasure: None
    Advancement: 34+ (Colossal)
    Level Adjustment: -----

In the dark water below, a massive shape slowly moves forward. It is almost like a giant, submerged island. At the far end of the great shadow, a small head rises out from the water.

Gigantoserpen are descendants of mosasaurs who, have thrived for millions of years. At one point, it is believed that all sorts of different mosasaur species swam in the world’s waters, but eventually dwindled to the point that only a few types were left. Before this time, though, a new species evolved, one that was so large that it had no natural predators. These creatures are known as Gigantoserpen.

These creatures are nearly 70 ft. in length, and may weigh as much as 66 tons (nearly the same weight as 30 elephants!). Because of their lack of rivals, these creatures have a much more passive approach to hunting and killing then their kin. For the most part, they consume vast quantities of fish and other 3 ft. long prey. They have been known to swallow the occasional Halfling swimmer, though. When given the chance, they may also try larger prey, like humans and small giants.

Gigantoserpen appears to be a massive lizard that looks similar to early plesiosaurs. This is an illusion, though. The fact that its fore body is several times smaller gives it a seemingly long neck. In reality, its tiny front limbs are close to its head, while its aft body is several times larger. This also gives it a fish-like appearance, though it is definitely reptilian. One of its more distinguishing features is an odd organ found by the lower intestines. Instead of excreting wastes like most creatures, it gathers up and stores a large amount. When frightened or in need of a quick escape (which is, unsurprisingly, not often), it releases the feces in a massive, sickening brown cloud.

    Combat
Gigantoserpen do not worry much about combat, as its massive bulk deters most prey. Their primary attack, a nasty bite, is very painful, though, and more than capable of killing a human. It is also known for occasionally “slapping” its prey, thrusting its large flippers against smaller prey in an attempt to push them away. The resulting slam can be quite painful.

Feces Expulsion (Ex): Once per week, as an immediate action, the Gigantoserpen may release a literal ton of wastes into the waters surrounding it. This creates a 90 ft. radius of brown, diseased water. All creatures within this radius are blinded, and must make a DC 30 fortitude save, or be nauseated for 3d10 rounds. Even afterwards, the creatures are sickened for an additional 3d10 rounds.

Improved Grab (Ex): Each time the Gigantoserpen successfully bites an opponent, it may initiate a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.

Keen Scent (Ex): A Gigantoserpen can notice creatures in the water at a ranged of 180 ft., and can pinpoint the location of creatures within 30 ft. of it.

Swallow Whole (Ex): If a Gigantoserpen begins its turn with an opponent held in its mouth, it can attempt a new grapple check (as though attempting to pin the opponent). If it succeeds, it swallows its prey, and the opponent takes bite damage. This deals 6d6+14 bludgeoning damage, and 18 points of acid damage each round the swallowed creature remains in the stomach. A swallowed creature is considered to be grappled, while the creature that did the swallowing is not. A swallowed creature can try to cut its way free with any light slashing or piercing weapon by causing 75 points of damage, or it can just try to escape the grapple. The Armor Class of the interior of the Gigantoserpen is 25. If the swallowed creature escapes the grapple, success puts it back in the attacker’s mouth, where it may be bitten or swallowed again.

LOTR, it's absolutely fantastic! I love it, plain and simple. I'd ask for another request, but you've got your hands full, so I'll wait until the air is clear. Keep up the good work!

    *Races of Stone

A quick moving, brown colored creature erupts from the ground below. Its sharpened beak holds a variety of jagged, rock-like teeth.

Seeing the success of the Efreeti pyroraptors, the Mephits of the Elemental Plane of Earth tried a similar experiment. Taking a population of pteranodons and alchemically shaping them to better fit within the tight tunnels of their home, they created the terradactyls. Whereas elemental pyroraptors were used as vicious attack dogs, terradactyls were used (and are still used today) as guard animals and beasts of burden.

Although their wings no longer allow them to fly, they still perform a special purpose for terradactyls; when in danger, they can wrap their wings around themselves and have them harden, making them nearly invulnerable to attack. Usually, they inhabit vast mines, where they protect their masters from Dao raiders and elementals who wish to collapse their tunnels.

    Combat
The first thing Terradactyls try to do is viciously attack any creature it sees. If significantly damage, it changes to a fully defensive attack pattern, hoping to wear down foes and keep them busy until reinforcements arrive, usually in the form of Salt or Earth Mephits.

Earth Glide (Ex): A terradactyl can glide through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other signs of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing terradactyl flings the creature back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.

Stoneskin (Su): As a standard action, a terradactyl may wrap its wings around itself and harden them to such a degree that they are nearly unimpenetrable. In this state, the terradactyl cannot move and takes a -2 penalty to all attack rolls, but it gains a +10 bonus to natural armor and Damage Reduction 15/Magic and Adamantine.

It looks like Gigantoserpen is missing 3 more epic feats. I'm not familiar with Overpowering Stench and Rancid Smell feats -- what book(s) are they from?

P.E.A.C.H. Please Evaluate And Critique Honestly. Being nicer and kinder doesn't hurt either. Note I generally only critique 3.5 and Pathfinder material.
Please, please, please when using non-core material, cite to the books. There are too many books to wade through to find the one with the feat, special ability or spell you use.

Homebrew- from back on page 3:

Prerequisites: Animal Vermin or Magical Beast subtype, Large Size or Larger
Benefits: Foes that come within 30 ft. of the creature must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 HD + Con modifier), or be sickened for a number of rounds equaling 1/2 the creature's HD (minimum 1). Creatures who make the save are immune to the stench for 24 hours.

    Overpowering Stench [Monstrous]
Some creatures have even more disgusting smells than others of their kind.
Prerequisites: Rancid Smell or natural Stench ability.
Benefits: Whenever the creature's stench-based ability comes into play, all creatures within the designated radius must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 HD + Con modifier), or be nauseated for a number of rounds equaling 1/4 the creature's HD (minimum 1). If the stench ability lasts longer than the amount given, anyone who failed the saves act sickened for the remaining rounds.
