Does Death Ward also stop the spell Implosion?

Does Death Ward also stop the spell Implosion?

I have asked this question to myself quite often, so I thought I had best check with the good folk here :D
I know it does count as a death effect, which is what death ward is used for, but as the spell kills instantly through massive damage (and has the evocation school) I wondered if it was applicable? Thank you for your time. :)

Death Ward only wards against negative energy effects, ability damage/drain, and spells with the [Death] descriptor. Implosion has none of those, so it would not be affected. Contrast to say...Phantasmal Killer or Finger of Death which DO have the [Death] descriptor.
