Interesting! Now we have been conclusively shown that Elan's dad was the person (either directly or indirectly) who had Haley's dad captive. And it seems that we've met Mr. Starshine now at last. Even better, Elan looks to have made the connection on his own without being reminded (I'm proud of him!).

Additionally, we've also met someone who might be Haley's uncle. I'm betting he's cannon fodder though.

holy crap Rich, you are a genius. i heard all those theories that the old gladiator was Ian, but I never thought it'd be true. i thought Tarquin was Tyrinnar, but i thought Ian was elsewhere. i didn't see it coming at all, i thought all the people who guessed this were either just plain wrong or joking around.

Alright, that guy was Ian. Although I didn't laugh at this one, I still found it very interesting. So much info/speculation- where to start?

1.Tarquin worked for Tyrinar? Wow.
2. Ian' has a brother in law?

Still, I would doubt Tarquin's intentions. He claims to have good intentions but I doubt it.

I know Tarquin's evil, but it's hard not to be impressed by his scheme. So he secretly runs the whole dang continent? Wow.

I don't think so. This might be interesting if we'll learn something about Haley's mom.

Somehow, I suspect that the reason Nale wants to kill Elan is because Tarquin originally tried to topple the Empire of Blood with Nale. When he failed (because let's face it, he's Nale, he's the living embodiment of half a dozen loser tropes), Tarquin let slip that he would have to use his brother Elan. And thus, Nale wanted to kill Elan because he thinks, in a brain damaged way, that Elan is taking away his kingdom and if Tarquin can't use Elan to conquer the EoB he'll have to fall back to Nale.

That also explains (great retcon, btw) why Nale wanted Dorukan's amulet. That many monsters, even crappy 3rd edition monsters, would be enough to take over the EoB, earn his father's praise, and probably kill him at the same time. Win-win.

Also, Ian! Found Haley's dad at last.
