    Cid lived in the Underdark for many years in an smaller Illithid society of around 400 or so. Cid was a very well respected member in society, was a town leader, and sat on many of the councils that ran the place. While on an excursion into a small drow village for slaves and nourishment, Cid stumbled across Benny. Benny, to the shock of Cid, was an intelligent gelatinous cube that could actually communicate with others through telepathy. It turns out that Benny was the concotion of a Drow mad wizard. Cid was so fascinated by the creation, that he got the cube to tag along with him, and thus became his cohort and friend. Over the years, Cid has also gotten Benny to be able to speak (being an uber wizard and all), but it only has a limited vocabulary. After roughly a decade, an adventuring party happened upon the Cid's little town (who was now the leader of said town). At first the party started to destroy everything in sight until they came to Cid, who was easliy able to subdue them. But instead of devouring their brains, Cid was impressed at what the party was able to do. So, Cid made a truce with the party, and thus decided that he wanted to continue on with them. After some deliberation with the town elders, he bid farewell to the Underdark, and went off to adventure on the material plane with Benny. Which brings us to the present as Cid and Benny are just arriving in town, and have split from their adventurers to pursue their own adventures.

    Note: not much is known at this time by townfolk of the two since they have just arrived.

    [Backstory]
    Lorith was born in the Elven lands far to the West, at an early age he was taught of his forefather who crafted a renouned longbow of Yew and how it was stolen by Orcs. Before Lorith was an adult there was an archery compition. The grand prize was a finely crafted longbow. During the compitition, another young elf was upset about a bad shot and nudged Lorith's bow causing the scar on his cheek from the fletching. Before the elders could intervein, Lorith struck the other elf with his bow in retalliation, this caused both of them to be disqualified, Lorith learned a hard lesson about tollerance that day.
    When he reached the age of self (adulthood), there was a call sent out for adventurers to travel to the West to look for a lost elven community due to merchants who returned from that area with elven made products that no one could identify the maker. Lorith jumped at the chance to travel westward to see if he could also regain his family heirloom.

    [Backstory]
    Jewel Thief's background is largely unknown (and probably very generic - much like her name). She probably grew up on the streets, was probably shadowed by some roguish mentor, probably went on some massive "Kill Bill" style revenge-adventure after her mentor was killed before her eyes by an evil organization's crime boss, probably killed off the top level associates of the organization, brought the crime boss to his knees and killed his kitten Muffins before his eyes. Probably then buried said crime boss in Muffins's kitty litter. Jewel Thief probably works for some elusive thief's guild, stealing diamonds and other people's magical items in some quest to fill that empty void in her heart left by her infantile abandonment and lack of role models and a father figure during her pubescent years.

    Weapons: a short sleek poison tipped (very light give you body weakness little better then flu) knife good for slitting throats, and several throwing knives.
    Story: Fyren was orphaned at the “world orphan center” there he learned if you are not, strong, smart, or witty you would die early (in a manner of speaking not die die but everyone hates you thing) Fyren learned to be witty and guile stealing food when necessary. He lived there till the age of 15 at that point he ran away and lived off of stealing and trickery. Now at the age of 26 he is hoping to accomplish something

    Description
    Maliohen is of average height and is composed mostly of muscle, and despite his muscular appearance he is remarkably light on his feet. His eyes are milky white, making it seem as though he has no pupils, but on close inspection his pupils differ in color very slightly from the rest of his eye. Maliohen is bald, giving him ample space to decorate his bald head in a variety of exotic tatoos, most notably the large eye painted on his forehead. Several bright orange sigils hover around his head, orbiting it at a steady pace, two of the sigils are larger and brighter than the rest. Maliohen wears a light grey tunic on top of his chain shirt, opting not to display his armor to all. He wears dark grey trousers, which are always kept tucked into his black boots. Clipped to his light brown belt are five sets of manacles, set up in such a way to be easily removed. Maliohen also wears dull grey gloves, a dull grey cloak, and a small dark blue headband. Maliohens weapon of choice is the Mancather, one of which is always in hand, and when not in combat he uses it as a walking stick.

    Backstory
    Maliohen tells no one of his backstory, his reasons are unknown.

    Equipment - favoured weapons - 2 Wakizashis 1 Cold Iron, the other Silver Alloy, pistol crossbow with 5 darts, wearing Nightstar's armour under blue silk dress. Hidden - who knows ?

    Backstory - Poor Nightstar, all she ever wants is a drink in a bar but "thoughtless big apes with muscles for brains" keep making fun of her hair or how small she is and then the barman will want to see her id and then someone will call her cute. That's when it happens, the barbarian will kick in and the tavern will get trashed, Nightstar gets thrown out and banned from yet another pub and will have to resume her planar wandering to find a bar that will serve her. She has even managed to be banned from the Banzai Bar and Grill (see link for typical evening http://www.banzaiinstitute.net/Invis...showtopic=5011) which is quite an achievement. Now she has emerged in the Town in search of a Gin and Tonic or perhaps a nice white wine spritzer and a quiet corner to drink it in.

    Nightstar is that rarest of things, a good assassin. After years of happily slaughtering anyone in the name of profit (especially if they called her cute), she accepted a contract on a philanthrophist who was hitting someones profit margins in the slums too hard. Unfortunately for her bank balance, she let him have some last words and found she couldn't kill him. With her reputation as an assassin shot (she wasn't that unhappy, she didn't want to indiscriminately waste people anymore anyway) Nightstar has had to adapt to a life of planar wandering in search of her 1 true love, Gin and Tonic. She is beginning to think that she's been cursed by her former employer to forever wander, unable to find a bar where she can finish her drink without getting barred. She has undergone 2 alignment changes in her life, going from chaotic to neutral and evil to good. This has left her a little frayed around the edges mentally.

    To look at, Nightstar is obviously extremely short and delicately built with it. She wears a knee length blue silk dress, no shoes, has 2 Wakizashis slung over her back (she can't manage a full Katana) and a pistol crossbow on her hip. The bright blue hair and the azure eyes (both natural) lend her a distinctive appearance (which is her downfall in bars). Looking at Nightstar closely, you can see that she's actually quite blocky around the torso and legs. This leads you to believe that she may be wearing armour under her dress. And she is. Nightstar's armour is designed to lend a maximum of protection while not sacrificing stealth. It's lightweight and well camoflauged, all in all, excellent assassins armour. If you listen to her move really really carefully in a dead silent environment, you can hear the faint clank that suggests that other metalic objects are hidden somewhere else. She wears a hairgrip with a silver star on it in her hair which is long and falls all the way down her back. Nightstar wears no jewelry aside from her hairgrip which was a gift from her mother.
    It can serve as a dagger in a pinch although it is a weapon of last resort.
    Common Knowledge -
    "Nightstar the destroyer of bars" is known as an honourable, reasonably normal person who pays her bills, means what she says and says what she means. Just don't call her cute. make fun of her hair or insult her mother. Last time someone did that, on their way home from the pub they were waylaid by a mysterious assailant and found swinging from a lamp post, not wearing their trousers and with their backside painted bright blue.

    Also, as you can probably guess from her description and stats, Nightstar is a complete lightweight when it comes to drinking. If she gets a second G+T down her, watch out world !

    Nightstar and Snowraven, back when they were assassins, got themselves "fixed" by emmiment hypnotists and priests. This means that any attempt to steal their souls or charm / control them is instantly doomed to failure as only those hypnotists and priests have any control over the sisters. The fact that each sister killed the other's hypnotist / priest is, naturally, purely coincidental.

    Owing to a particularly spectacular incident, Nightstar has invested in a fireproof dress. This has renered her immune to all fire aside from Aerin Hitomi's soulfire.

    Uncommon knowledge.

    As they are Clan Warriors, the sisters have been extensively augmented with myomer muscles and have had their joints and bones enhanced to compensate for the increased power. These have made them immune to a lot of disabling spells like hold person and anything that hits their strength and dex. They are slightly vulnerable to EMP now though although nowhere near as much as the vast majority of Clan Enhanced Warriors.

    Also, they were also given a particularly unpleasant system that can mimic roughly what a Barbarians rage can do only using drugs. A massive dose of Nuke and a cocktail of other drugs is pumped into the girls systems when they activate it. This massively boosts their strength, dex, aggression but they stay in control of their sanity by a hair's breadth and may have trouble telling friend from foe until the drugs wear off. This is a last resort system of the 1st order. It doesn't tend to leave much standing when it's used and will leave the sisters incapable of anything but sleep once used.

    The girls have been through a powerful lot of planes and have left destruction strewn in their wake. Sometimes, this has been destruction at someone elses bidding. This means that the girls are owed a lot of favours by some people who wanted deniability at the time and decided to find an interfering mortal to do the job.

    Ongoing storylines - The quest for the G + T, lemon, Lime. lots of ice. Will she get to finish it this time or will someone call her cute ?

    The mysterious gems. Nightstar has done some science and has worked out that some precisely cut black diamonds and opals will enable her to accomplish something really cool but what is it ? And will it work ?

    Yes it did, Nightstar got a bit scorched but now has a really neat thing that the shadows will do for her.


    She has now met her sister, Snowraven, after years of dodging assassination attempts from her and they are trying to find a way to deal with Snowraven's dependency on Nuke, a particularly nasty drug from their home plane.

    The Clan Wars - After Nightstar killed their former mentor, Nightstar and Snowraven travel widely and were eventually accepted into Clan Ghost Bear. Nightstar and Snowraven are both veterans of the Clan Wars, on the losing side. They were both Clan Mechwarriors and fought the Com Guards on Tukkayid where they distinguished themselves, especially when the Com Guards broke through their lines. After this battle, they were released to spy on the Inner Sphere, where the fateful contract between Nightstar and the Archon of the Lyran Alliance was formed. Nightstar is starting to have nightmares and flashbacks of her time as a Mechwarrior, especially Tukayyid where her lover died in a hail of Com Guard Gauss Rifle and PPC fire. Not only has Nightstar got to deal with this but surely the clanners will be wanting a report soon.....

    NB, Nightstar is a shadowweaver, the classes are the closest DnD ones I could come up with for what she can actually do, she has a few abilities (details to follow when I'm not working) which are not analogous with Dnd.

    Appearance: Saurous takes the form of an elven man of average age. His hair is a dark greyish color that is almost black, and has pale grey skin. His eyes are an unnatural red color. He is commonly dressed in his black clothing, with his cloak on his back. His right arm is skeletal, but is almost always covered by a glove and cloth wrapped around it.
    Speaks: Common, Elven, Abyssal, Infernal, Draconic, Undercommon, and several other languages
    Noticeable features: Pure red eyes, grey skin
    Equipment:
    -Blacken'stor His main melee weapon. A shortsword that glows with black energy. Returns to the one whom threw it.
    -Yereth'Draco An enchanted blade made by Chance. A shapeshifting weapon. Commonly used in the form of a scythe.
    Saurous rarely uses his swords, but keeps them on him at almost all times.

    [Backstory]
    Saurous was born in an unspecified elven city. During his adolescence, the elven city was overun by powerful necromancers, who killed most of his family. The necromancers then captured Saurous and took him as their apprentice. At first, Saurous resisted them and was imprisoned for several years. During this time, Saurous managed to make progress as a rouge and managed to learn spells from what he heard from necromancers. Eventually, the necromancers reoffered their membership, and Saurous joined them. During his many adventures and raids with the 'mancers, he learned much in the ways of magic and grew powerful. All until one day. During this day, Saurous had discovered a shortsword stuck in a tree. As he pulled the sword out of the tree, it infused demonic power inside him. It caused his eyes to turn dark red and his skin to turn into pale grey. He then returned to the necromancers and slaughtered half of them. Before he managed to slaughter more of them, the Necromancers managed to imprisoned in magical barriers for hundreds of years, after which he managed to break free. But a town had been build around Saurous, and he now returns to his dark ways.

    It is well known that Saurous has managed to balance the powers between agility and magic.

    Saurous is also apparently able to warp continuity, as he is occansionally in multiple places at once.


    [Ongoing Storyline]
    -After creating the Mages Guild, Saurous has discovered a plot set forth by Erythnul, whom is the cause of the destruction of his home city, Ala'rma. Erythnull is after the power of the other gods, Nerull and Incabulos, to use in an effort to "wipe the slate clean". With the help of the other mages, namely Ctrazt, Chance, Pelgof, and Castaras, he attempts to stop a greater evil from destroying all. And because he was here first.
    -Recently, the vampire cleric Chartix has attacked the guild, trying to remove the thorn in Erythnul's side known as Saurous. Chartix escaped, after almost killing Saurous.
    -Saurous, along with Castaras, Pelgof, Dartonus, and Chance, managed to retrieve one of the artifacts, the History of Necromancy from Erythnul.
    -He also appears to have been destroyed and replaced by another Saurous from another era or plane. This Saurous is part of AMEN.

    Appearance: Demi, when manifesting, takes the form of a massive minotaur with light brown hair and red skin. His eyes give off a glare, and are pure black.

    -Demi's name is unknown, but is called by many as "The Demi-god" or (Informally)"Demi".
    -Demi-God's specialty is the creation of undead and demonic creatures. His assistance is commonly asked for when army creation is needed.
    -He has recently been summoned by Saurous.
    -Demi has an annoying habit of posessing someone to communicate, rather than just speaking directly.

    Appearance: Retriever is small for a Retriever, standing somewhere between nine and ten feet tall. His four eyes all glow a different color, and he is covered in a black, bug-like exoskeleton.

    -Retriever is most likely the most intelligent non-player of the Mages Guild.

    Age: Appears to be in mid-thrties. Could be centuries old.

    Alignment and Temperment: Chaotic Evil. Chartix is very violent, destructive, and manipulative.
    Appearance: Chartix is a fairly tall human vampire with dull red-brown eyes and long grey hair. His skin is practically white, and he has two long fangs jutting from his upper lip. He has a very muscular figure.
    Equipment: Spiked Chain, set of red armor.

    Notes:
    -Chartix is an opponent of Saurous', being one of Erythnul's lead clerics.
    -Chartix got his hind end handed to him in the most recent trip to Ala'rma, and is apparently dead. Or, rather, more dead than he was. But he may return. *hint, hint*
    -He recently returned along with Saurous's father, Reh'san. Chartix attempted to take over Saurous, but was repelled and his spirit was captured by Pelgof.

    Gender: Male
    Class: Wizard/Cleric

    Appearance: Reh'san is a fairly tall elf with long, shoulder-length brown hair. His form is very muscular for a wizard, and his skin is a light tan color.

    -Reh'san is Saurous's father, and was believed to be killed in the assault on Ala'rma many years ago.
    -He has recently become a minion of Erythnul, assisting him as a field officer in the search for the weapons.
    -He has also recently been captured by the guild mages.

    Alignment and Temperment: Chaotic Neutral (Leans slightly towards evil). Ctrazt is fairly random, and will choose either side as long as he can have fun with it.
    Appearance: Ctrazt is an oddity among Illithids, and Ulitharids for that matter. He is of average height, but very short for a Ulitharid. His eyes are purple and look at everything through a veil of insanity, and his skin is white. He has no hair, being the ulitharid he is. He almost always wears his oddly colored robes, which are purple.
    Equipment: Purple robe, various colored stones (apparently Ioun Stones), Chaos
    Diamond, Candle of Truth.

    [Backstory]
    Ctrazt began life as anyother Illithid would, floating around aimlessly in the pools of the Elder Brain. But that is where the similarities end. During his "childhood" the Illithid village was attacked by a band of adventurers. The Elder Brain at this time had moved quite a bit do to the many explosions and violence, landing on Ctrazt, still a small larvae floating around. Ctrazt managed to move under the Brain, and somehow absorbed everything from it. It's knowledge, powers, and energy became Ctrazt's. He manged to push back the attackers with his newfound power, and climbed into the ear of a Thrall and joined the 1% of all Illithids to become Ulitharids.

    During his escape from the illithid caverns, he ends up being captured by the same necromancers that destroyed Saurous' town.

    [Ongoing Storyline]
    -A pair of Barghests from a tribe that he had destroyed have recently returned, and attacked him. He managed to escape by teleporting the two to the Mountains.
    -The same two have captured Ctrazt by using a Puppeteer. They are taking him to someplace deep in the woods. What could they be planning to do?

    -Dolor is apparently the smarter of the two, even though he is much younger. Pyn usually the one who fights, while Dolor uses his spell-like abilities as support. This does not mean Dolor cannot fight physically, however.

    Appearance While in human form (his preferred polymorph state) Shadow appears as a stunningly attractive man of about 30 years with shiny brown messy hair with streaks of silver. His green eyes sparkle with interest at just about anything. Shadow is commonly dressed in simple gray woolen trousers and matching cloak coupled with a dark blue tunic. At his side rests an ornate rapier with a light layer of frost covering the blade. In warmer climates the frost is continually melting, shrouding Shadow in a very thin mist.

    [Backstory]

    The runt of the litter, Shadow was ridiculed by his siblings. This led him to spend much time alone. He may have been smaller than his brethren, but he acquired his natural magic much more quickly than his brothers. Once the power to change his physical form came about, Shadow began to wander the human lands as one of their own kind. Shadow learned that even more than his natural magic, he enjoyed the more subtle arts of stealth and cunning. He has befriended many different individuals throughout the years, but recently (about fifteen years ago) he met a young man by the name of Brenton. They became fast friends. This friendship was tested, though, when Shadow fell in love with Brenton's younger sister, Allyssia. Shadow began to spend more and more time in the human lands to be with his love. He even had a charm crafted for Allyssia (and a second for Brenton) that would all but halt the passage of time, that they might grow old together.

    One day, the small village that Brenton and Allyssia lived in was attacked by a band of Hobgoblins. While Shadow was helping the villagers defend thier homes, a Hobgoblin shaman momentarily changed him back to his original form. While Brenton and Allyssia knew of his Draconic blood, the rest of the village was terrified of Shadow from that day on. The siblings were even forced to flee the small town, running for thier lives.

    A psychotic magi named Destro heard of the incident and began searching for the three refugees. Kidnapping Allyssia and spiriting her away to an unknown location, Shadow was blackmailed into serving the archmage on pain of his love's death. Having completed the tasks that were set for him by his new arch-enemy, Shadow was not all that surprised to find that the mage would not release Allyssia as promised. He was given a new task, time and again.

    [Ongoing storyline]

    As Destro has just become a lich, currently he has charged Shadow and Brenton with locating an artifact of pure evil known as "The Lich's Heart." They heard reports of the Heart having been last seen in the Town and hurried off to where all the troubles with the lich began, in the Town. Brenton was killed by a Hydra on the road here. No longer having to protect his friend weighs heavily on Shadow's already burdened heart. Seeking to find some means of breaking his compact and saving his love are now the only concerns in Shadow's mind. Unfortunately the clock is ticking, for the Destro has removed the charm from around Allyssia's neck to torment Shadow, and she grows older each passing day.

    Darnin is a half-grue thief. Yes, half-grue. Don't ask. Anyway, he spends most of his time traveling, looking for the perfect challenge to his abilities. His appearance isn't much to remark on, mostly because of the magical semi-darkness that surrounds him at all times. Inside the darkness you can see a vaguely humanoid figure. Occasionally his consciousness shifts from his body, giving him the appearance of in deep thought.

    [Backstory]
    He was born to a grue and a human. His mother died shortly after giving birth, and his grue father failed to pay child support. He decided to run away. He quickly learned the skills needed to survive on the streets, and eventually found that which challenged him once to be too easy. He decided to search for the ultimate challenge....

    Somewhat shifty, not the kind of guy you would trust with most things. Decidedly suspicious.

    Backstory: A simple rabbit, Lepus lived with his wife and family in a hole in the ground. However, when the the hunters came, this all changed. The only one escaping from the carnage, he was pursued by the hunters, before finding what appeared to be a small hovercraft. When he crawled inside, he found that his mind was opened to the world, he could see things in ways he could never before. He figured out how to work the machine and it's many functions, and then blew up the ones who hunted him. He eventually made his way to Town.

    Common Knowledge: Other than the fact that he's a rabbit, he has a bag full of carrots on him at all times.

    Notes: The hovercraft floats about 3 feet off the ground, unless otherwise specified. It runs on solar power, and can store energy for quite a while. The machine itself is protected by an unseen force and cannot be destroyed. Can shoot lasers at the cost of some power.

    Description
    A frequenter of long-range magic jar spells, Maerok uses many 'mortal' puppets to perform his bidding. Depending on the mood and the availability of creatures, the skeletal foe can take on a variety of forms.

    The skull of Maerok is a sickly thing. It is a human skull, scoured clean by the power of time and planar travel. Only a mess of black hair remains, along with savage black eyes bearing red pupils. Those he possesses usually gain a little of this distinguishing ocular trait. Maerok also spent time becoming Spellstitched by a devil he had worked with for a brief while in the Nine Hells; the elaborate and devilish tattoos cover the ivory bone with gray wrisping arcane runes.

    Backstory
    Hikato Doren was originally a spellcaster apprentice from a province originally known as the Gray Woods. Here, a human village was nestled in the heart of a sickened forest that spread for miles, a byproduct of some ancient cataclysm. Diseases often ravaged the small populace, and Hikato was one of the few that could resist them. With the bodies of his people piling up in the dirt streets, Hikato became a part of the group dedicating to moving the deceased. In his spare time, he combining this task with his arcane studies and gained a passion for necromancy. He found that he could reanimate the dead into a new life - one which did not end at the ravages of plague, of thirst, of hunger, nor any other natural force.

    In that undeath, he saw a certain perfection. Hikato came to believe that to save his people from suffering, they must enter into the next life where he could intercept their transition into the world of souls. Exacting an attack on his people, he managed to acquire a small group of followers before being forced out by the weak militia. The death group left for a distant location, one where Hikato could pursue his procedures in saving the living from life. He has yet to find it, but someday he plans to strike up a new nation of the damned. In his travels, the necromancer trained in the art of lichdom and completed the rituals on his 46th birthday. Soon after, he caught wind of the art of demilichdom and set about in acquiring the rituals as well. Four hundred years later, after traversing the planes in search of that secret, he found it and completed the ritual. Hikato Doren renamed himself Maerok upon this 'rebirth'. Through his studies, he has found these rituals be a greater source of 'perfection' in undeath. He believes that he must achieve the greatest perfection first before he attempts to save all the others in the Material Plane.

    Maerok's true companions are the Awakened Undead among his legion.

    It is within the last few months that Maerok has stumbled upon the Town. He sees it as a very valuable point in his plans. Perhaps there are those who wish to be liberated, or assist him in his goal.

    Common Knowledge
    Virtually no one except his own legions know of his demilichdom. Most folk know Maerok as one of the various creatures he abducts from nearby places and keeps bound while not under the effect of magic jar.

    Getting rid of an old character? Why not send him/her/it to join the legion of Maerok?

    Accomplices
    Telaras (Cohort)
    Telaras is the chief guardian of Maerok, wherever the demilich travels to. While using magic jar, Telaras is his final line of defense. He is one of Maerok's closest friends and rarely leaves except to ensure the completion of the most important tasks. He is the harbinger of the will of Maerok. Telaras is a Shadow of the Void, which the dread lord found on his trips through the planes in search of the source of the Uttercold. He failed to locate it but found the creature he named Telaras.

    Iquom (Familiar)
    During his necromantic studies, Hikato summoned a quasit to become his familiar. Now serving Maerok, the little creature is a hellion while outside of its master's power.

    Brodar
    One of the hapless victims of Maerok's schemes, Brodar is the dwarf used as a figurehead to Maerok's mine. The mine is located south of the Town, in what was a meadow off to the side.

    Xeybrak Doren
    Favored Soul/Monk/Sacred Fist/Divine Oracle
    Maerok's 'older' brother who followed a similar path of evil, perfecting his own self through killing countless others. He thought that if he could kill every creature and assure his strength, it would bring about perfection and immortality. He was eventually caught and locked within a time trap, locked forever in a moment of time. Since then, Maerok's age has surpassed Xeybrak's making the demilich the older brother now. This fierce combatant combines divination with hand-to-hand combat, keeping him minutes ahead of the competition.

    Backstory: Vespe is a Time Lord, from the planet Gallifrey, or at least that's what he tells everyone. He's had plenty of vaguely defined adventures which he will happily relate to anyone who asks. Or doesn't ask, for that matter.
    Common Knowledge: Is a Time Lord, travels in a blue police box that's much bigger on the inside. Quite fond of memes. Is something of a Beatle-maniac. Tries not to mess with history too much. Can regenerate, and has been known to have more than one form in the same place. Is a former AMENite and a former GLoGger. Cannot use magic, but can invoke tropes at will. Hates Mary Sues/Gary Stus (please note that simply because Vespe thinks your character is a Sue/Stu doesn't mean I do). Hates Fanboy.
    Uncommon Knowledge: If I told you, it wouldn't be uncommon, now would it? Fine, I'll tell you one thing: he has a phobia of bees.
    Ongoing storyline: Not much at the moment, he's mostly just hanging out at the Glass Citadel and eating all of Rabbit's food.

    Stuff owned: Standard clothes. A few small pouches with a variety of crystals, dusts and junk in. Not much money, and almost none in the local currency. Sapphire-Dragon-Enchanted Weapon (changes shape - normally crossbow or staff).

    Backstory:
    Left his homeland in another realm to escape a mage war. He had been involved with both sides of the conflict, and is now hunted by the two largest magical organisations, so ran away.
    He has a dozen or so souls inside him. He accidentally killed his master, the previous host for the souls. Well, I say accidentally. The master intended to get killed, and as Pelgof now bears all the souls from the master, he kind of did intend it. But not at the time.
    He still feels guilty about killing Drokma (the master). He knows it's stupid, as he is Drokma now, but he can't help it. In a way, he killed himself.REsolved with a new incarnation.
    The spirits within him form a kind of council, who together control the body. It is very rare, but occaisionally, one of them will sieze control, but normally, he exists by consensus of those within him.
    It's kind of complicated. I don't think even he knows how it works.
    Now in another incarnation, calling himself by the name of Thalof, the original mage who started the 'overflow'.

    Furry all over, with hoofed feet and horns on the bestial-looking head. His hands are human-like, but with small, blunt claws in place of fingernails, and fur. Under some patches of fur are signs of burn scars, but these aremostly masked.

    Possessions: A belt with a few pouches, containing various herbs, leaves and stones. His staff

    Backstory:
    An apprentice to his tribe (the Kalgot-Crut)'s spellcaster, he survived an attack that wiped out the rest of his settlement by entering a coma-like trance. The attackers left him for dead, and when he recovered, nothing remained except corpses and ashes. He took anything he could find of use, and traveled, avoiding the other tribes, and crossing many lands. He has recently arrived in Town, unsure of what this new place holds, and unsure of what he is looking for.

    Notes:
    - He uses magic, but not based on any particular system. He sings for magi, like a D&D bard, but it's more of a chant than a song. He is close to nature, and communicates to it constantly, a bit like a D&D druid, but not quite.
    - Language is very important to him. It allows him to use what others would call magic. Names and the use of them interest him, as do songs and chants, as they are both used in his magic.
    - Is deeply against aggression. If forced, he might restrain attackers, but no more. This is both ingrained in his race's culture, and a part of his own, personal beliefs.
    - Much of his magic concerns the mind - He can instill thoughts or urges through song, or affect morale, if he so wished.
    - Other stuff. Oh,yeah. Language
    > 'Ergast' - His race's name for themselves. Most humans call them 'Beastmen'.
    > 'Crut' - The Ergast name for a tribe. Each tribe is named after its founder, in Yotran's case, the great warrior, Kalgot. (It might be worth noting that Kalgot's spirit is one of those currently residing within Pelgof)

    Description


    Tinderhall has a fearfull appearance, he wears a long black coat and his left arm is armored with black dragonscale armor and three blades are fixed upon it as a claw, the middle blade is adamantine and the two other's are cold iron, upon it are runes who glow when Tinderhal is casting a spell, these blades have no other enchantments for attacking, but serve as a focus for casting which lessens the arcane spell failure on his armor.
    Upon his shoulders are two large black horned demon skulls with obsidian coloured fur around them, upon their heads is a glowing red mark, who carry a spell, when activated the right one teleports Tinderhal to safety (as long as he is in the same plane he has his tower) and the left one planeshifts him to the plane upon his tower is situated, these are activated mentally and are one use, they can be recharged by casting the appriorate spell on them (Greater Teleport and Planeshift). His belt is made from braided black hair and carry his spellbook (fixed upon an adamantine chain) on right and the scabbard for his blade on the right. His blade looks like a katana albeit a tad bit larger, upon mental command it can imbue itself with either fire, electricity, sonic, unholy or acid energy, only one can be active at one time. It also has some black runes upon it and those can be used to cast Death's Finger however one use depletes one runes which has to be reapplied by casting death's finger on it, it holds 12 runes maximum. He usually wears a hood and (ninja)mask (enchanted so you can hear him clearly instead of muffled, but also has the power to greatly empower hsi voice, so it can carry for miles if needed), but is also known to walk around with a pure white mask depicting and angels, his boots, pants and shirt are black with mithril laced into them. However when walking around he has a hologram active that shows a simple red trenchcoat, black shirt, black pants and black boots. His familiar is fly called alcarath which has several recon spells (arcane sight, true seeing, greater scry, discern location, identify, major image and detect thoughts).

    Backstory


    As a young elf, the wizard Nilt and his wife Narah grew alienated with sun elf society, they despised there arrogance and decided to live far away in the human lands and build a wizard's tower there, one perfectly white spire in the middle of about half a mile of green grass. It did not take long for them to befriend the local human villages and soon they were often sought after for advice on arcane matters or even simply questions about life itself. The tower usually held atleast one guests and the were known as good samaritans always lending a helping hand to those in need. It became known as the lonely tower, because it was apart from the elven nations and it stood alone and could be seen from miles away, despite the bit depressing name, it became a place many people would lovingly refer to as the home of the last truely good souls or simply as the white wizards tower. Tinderhall grew up in this tower and had good albeit interesting childhood, he would often help his father with small rituals and herb gathering for potions. At the age of 20 Tinderhall was asked his father why he pursued the arcane arts and his father answered this, "For power, not power for power's sake, but the power to aid another and to shape the world as a better place", Tinderhall thought upon this for a while and then asked his father to teach him magic and his father did through carefull study and kind words. At the age of 160 he had completed his training under his father and decided to venture into the world to learn more, his parent relucantly let him go. He travelled many a land and learned much, however as time passed he became less and less scrutulous as how to advance his study's, he discovered that most wizards hoarded there knowledge like a weary dragon and deviced ways to trick them into teaching him. Although he did not commit any crimes, it did prepare him for the mindset he later acquired. He was 248 years old when he met a human thief named Linn, first he did not realise what the thiefs proffesion was and when the thief helped him acquire an old powerfull tome it was already to late to shun him. They quickly became good friends, despite the thief's craft he was a good man, always willing to lend a hand, but he saw no moral objection to steal from the rich, figuring they had enough. He learned Tinderhall the basics of his craft and the elf soon used it to enter the houses of wizards to study their tomes, however if he took them, he always put them back.
    And so Tinderhall quickly became a very knowledgable wizard and a nimble thief, it was when he was approached by a third that it truely went wrong. Nixx, a drow assassin aproached him to acquire a few scrolls of invisibility and Tinderhall was quick to sell them to him when he saw the full pouch of gold the assassin offered him, although he traveled light, he always was in short of money, so this was a big extra for him. Nixx kept coming back to buy potions, scrolls and other magical items from Tinderhall and he soon learned how Tinderhall broke into houses to learn more arcane secrets and offered him a deal. He would allow him in his guild if he helped him an a task, he showed Tinderhall the payments of such deals and even some of the training he gained from his guild. Still not knowing the exact nature of Nixx's craft he agreed to do it and succesfully did so, he quickly took training from the assassins and when he found out what they were and what he did (poison a nobleman's wine), he already stopped caring. The guild Nixx was member of was quite good in brainwashing naive youngster's like Tinderhall and he was quite good at the craft of an assassin. He quickly rose in rank and even learned the dark arts of a shadowdancer, when he saw he could learn no more from the guild, he started to focus on his arcane craft once more, but now stealing tomes and magical items and killing wizards not willing to teach him.

    He started planeshifting around the multiverse to discover the many planes and their respective knowledge, on the way he picked up a few enemies and a few friends, like Yorg (friend) (description beneath), Norgath (friend) (coming soon) and Illithus (enemy) (coming soon).

    Word of an assassin wizard reached Nilt in his lonely tower and when he found out a few of his friends were filled by this assassin he decided to bring him to justice, he set out a trap and it was not long before Tinderhall walked in. As you can imagine Nilt was surprised to see his own son and could not bear to kill him, he tried to lead Tinderhall away from hsi dark path, but he saw he could not. So he used an ancient spell to imprison Tinderhall, the spell changed the assassin wizard in what could be described undead, but instead of becoming a full undead it merely affected his aging, he could no longer die from natural causes, be it disease, poison or simply old age. However he was also locked away in an cage of arcane energy and sat encaged for long time. In this time he slowly lost all his humanity and when he finally found a way to break out of the cage, his mind was deformed into one goal, power, arcane power. However century's had passed and the land was no longer the same. He doesn't know how long he was imprisoned, but he does know that he will not be stopped again and that he will posses ultimate power.

    Not much is known about Tinderhall, he is known as the Arcane Shade, or simply Shade and has built a small reputation as a powerfull wizard.

    Description

    Yorg is a hulking bundle of muscles held together by green skin, he almost always wears a large smile showing the world his large fangs, he has small beady eyes that tend to glimmer when he sees something exciting. He usually only wears a leather pants, however he is known to go without it at all, people seeing Yorgh naked have given descriptions as "moral corruption", "initmidating" and "That was the biggest green salami I ever saw".

    Backstory

    In the beginning there was nothing and then came the primal gods, it's still in debate how exactly they came into being, but the theory of "Who really cares?" is the most accepted, these primal gods were beings of power, power not even the greater deity's of today can even dream of, their potential was near limitless and they used it to create the world, this is offered as proof that though they were powerfull, they weren't really intelligent. Over the Aeons of Creation the world came to be and most Primal Gods died or simply stopped existing, untill only a few were left, one of these was Ayorgham the Enraged, he was the god that protected both orcs and ogres. Most races have an entire pantheon of gods to keep up with them, this is a good example of the difference of power, no deity, how powerfull he/she may be came even close to Ayorgham and this gave him a unique situation where he could simply do whatever he wanted, he raised the orcs and ogres as his own and left the other races and Deity's alone. This worked for a long time and no there was no dispute between him and the other gods, all happy with their niche inside of the grand pantheon, however one day a conflict came to be, it is unknown where this exactly started, but it is known that at one point Ayorgham ate the last cookie, which was rightfully the possesion of Niptuld, the Elven God of Feasting. The conflict quickly escelated, the other deity's no longer would stand for the obvious abuse of power of Ayorgham (an old wise human scholar once pointed out, with referencing books of history, that abusing power is pretty much what being a god is about, but he was killed by a freak accident of a few hundred lightning bolts hitting exactly the spot where he was standing, before this theory was wide known) and went to war with him, it was a long and atrocious fight which reshaped the divine realms, but in the end Ayorgham lost, however with his last words were "From the lines of the orc and ogre kings will come another line, they will join together and from them a man shall be born, that man will be the return of my power. After coughing these words he finally died and the other gods decided that they would put a stop to this once and for all, they commanded all their followers to slay all orcs and ogres and quickly small adventuring party's got their extra gold from killing entire Orc and Ogre towns. However through the years the small tribes managed to survive and eventually the lines of the kings joined together.

    The birth of the baby was a grand feast, as the orcs and ogres had not forget their gods profecy and when the baby was born it was under the carefull supervision of an old wise man, as the baby came out of his mother's womb the spirit of the god Ayorgham started infusing with the babe's soul and the man thriumphantly held the baby up for all to see, however he forgot that newborn's usually are rather slippy and dropped the young god to be on his head before he was fully protected with the power of Ayorgham, the baby lived but it quickly became obvious that the knock to the head caused soem severe braindamage leaving their new god the intelligence of half a pea. The wise man was killed in a way that even made the Gods of Chaos blush, it shall not be told here for the goal of decency, however it involved four banana's, a large spoon and a dragon in heat.

    Though the young greenskin was obviously retarded, the tribe decided to take of him and hope for the best, when Yorgh was 28 Tinderhall accidently became friends with the tribe by leadin them to battle with the humans trying to kill them and winning, though in all honesty he was simply bored and decided this would be more fun then his original plan, killing the orcs and using them as ammo for giant catapults. After the battle he remained in the orc and ogre town for a while and met Yorgh, though he did not knwo the story he saw the pure power that inhabited Yorgh and decided he would form a good asset, after soem bartering and lies, the tribe agreed to send him with Tinderhall. However Tinderhall quikcly came to regret this, when he first tried to use Yorgh as front warrior in an army of shadows and demons to ransack a wizard city, he screamed attack and instead of attacking the enemy wizards he quickly killed the thousands of shadows and demons, after this they were hailed as hero's and gained full access to the city's library, which was the original goal, however it took some time before Tinderhall could negate the negative PR he gained and Yorgh was already to attached to Tinderhall, which basically meant he wouldn't leave the wizards side. Tinderhall took multiple attempts to kill Yorgh, but they all failed and in the end he gave up and decided to make the best of it.

    After Tinderhall was imprisoned by his father Nilt, Nilt and his wive took care of Yorgh untill Tinderhall broke free and Yorgh decided to join him again.

    Common Knowledge

    He is retarded and immensly powerfull, also he likes to break stuff and eat yummy stuff.

    Notes

    With normal combat you can't beat Yorgh, however fooling him is easy, he once thought he caught a cold and almost died of his own belief that it was lethal untill he was given a "magic pill of healing".

    If you can't think of anything to do, PM me or say so in OOC and I will give tips, also things that will outright kill him or make him do things I really don't want him to do will be dealt with, so they don't happen, so don't come cussing to me if your plot to kill Yorgh/make him r*pe small kittens don't work.

    As Pit Fiend, a darkened golden armour and a large black adamantite longbow with a bloodred string.

    Backstory

    Swore and oath to serve Tinderhall and will do so without ever wavering his loyalty, he was transformed to a human nobleman and uses this form to manipulate others.

    Story: As a young elf he grew up in a village amoung the trees under the mountains and grew to the age of 15 enjoining life and thw world in general. His elders always said he was adopt with nature and proved them right when
    he could talk to the birds before he could pull a bow. He had many frieands and was adored in many ways. However fate had other plans. When he was clocting herbs for his mothers pothions he returned to the village to find it ransacked and pillaged by a green dragon mightier than the mountains themselves. He was now left in a world where everyone he knew was dead and all he had was nature. So to nature he whent with open arms. For 40 years he lived with the knowledge that anyone that had been close to him had died. But he did not live the life of a hermit. He meet the stags. He befriended the rabbits. he studied herblore and the many ways of nature. Finally with the knowledge he had amassed he finally thought it was time to move to another place another forest. And so that is how he found Ulden the falcon being sold of by a trader for a couple of gold pieces

Round her fingers is pale blue magic. In a pouch on her belt she has many fire opals, some enchanted, others not. Her grey spider-silk cloak gently whispers in the breeze.
    Backstory: Born a slave to Ilvari, she was given megre training by her in wizardry to make her more useful. She ran away when Ilvari's family started torturing her. Meeting an aspect of Lolth in the tunnels, she foolishly accepted Lolth's terms in return for power and safety. Possessed, Castaras destroyed the place, before running off, Fus close behind. They fought side by side, back to back, but Castaras began to have regrets. Lolth called on her once again to attack the temple of Inari. Castaras left Fus behind, after a horrible arguement, and headed for the town, being saved by Inari's aspect from Lolth. She now tries to forget all that, but her annoying player keeps throwing her past back at her.
    Common Knowledge: She is pretty powerful. Ferdir the drider mysteriously disappeared and she remained.

    Storylines:
    Ferdir, the drow, is watching her. What is she going to do? After much pains she killed him.
    Ilvari, her old tutor, has returned, searching for Castaras' soulburner dagger. Can she and a friend, Caleb, destroy it before Ilvari snatches it from their grasp, for Lolth?Destroyed, yet made her lose her magic. She's been forced into a bargain with Pol'Shoath, who wants Castaras to remove Ilvari. In return she will gain her power back.
    - She has returned to her old home, searching for an old hermit she met years ago when she was on the run. After finding that two friends, Pelgof and Caleb, have chased after her, worried she was in danger, she has consented to let them come along. They returned. Safe and sound.
    - Ilvari's been getting powerful. After Ilvari attacked the Alexander sisters, Castaras agreed to go kick some spider butt.And they did it pretty thoroughly. A bit too easy though...
    - Ilvari's possessing Castaras' body. Castaras is a ghost, anchored to the slums, where she was murdered. She's found some protection for the moment, from followers of Pol'shoath, lady of pain. How long this will last, she doesn't know. Ilvari still has Castaras' old body, yet Castaras has gained a new body. All is quiet on the plot front...
    Spoke too soon. She's been bitten by an undead werewolf. The undeath has been taken by Winterfrost's God, but she's a werewolf. A big problem, to say in the least. Plus, it has to be the spirit that's healed, not the body. Very difficult for even a God to fix. Problematic. Plot-tastic though.

    Backstory: Born to a drow noble house, she learnt wizardry, and had around 5 slaves to serve her: Alani, a troll; Hed, a human; Fus, a halfling; Grog, a hill giant; and Castaras, a half-drow. When Castaras destroyed the place under possession of Lolth, Ilvari escaped, heading to a drow city, where she was initiated into the temple of Lolth. She became the high-priestess, and is now following Castaras.
    Common Knowledge: A drow with a lot of power.
    Uncommon Knowledge: A webmistress
    Storyline: She has returned, trying to collect the soulburner. If she had that in her grasp, she would gain more political power, and may head further up the drow hierachy, maybe even becoming an advisor to the king. Will she succeed?
    One out of two artefacts. She now waits in the cavern of thousand eyes, for Castaras to come. She isn't coming back to town for a while though. Lolth has been a bit shaken by her defeat at the hands of Kyrian, god of war, and isn't coming back for a while. Got impatient, and moved to the slums. Bad mistake. She got killed by Castaras and the Alexander sisters. But before she died, she made sure her spirit entered Castaras' mind.
    - And now Ilvari is walking around in Castaras' form. But people know. Not much she can do at the moment. She's retreating to the slums, attempting to destroy Castaras' ghost once and for all.

Learning the ways of the Foodomancer and the Rogue, she gained alot of power, and left the Underdark to explore. She found an emissary of AMEN and allied with them. For the moment.
    Common Knowledge: Foodomancer of immense power. She looks identical to normal Castaras. They're the same people, only AMEN-Castaras has become crueller and eviler. She also is more powerful. In a one-on-one fight, aCastaras would win.

Part of their friendly bond is one child every generation being given to the vampires to be transformed. Shera was her generation's. Still alive years after the kingdom collapsed, she wanders the lands, drinking blood when she can, but secretively. Recently chased out of a nearby city, she has come to Town, searching for other places to drink blood from.

    Wings: Gold, about a 6 foot wingspan, usually folded behind back.

    The first thing noticable about Chance is his wings, if you can see them. After that people tend to see the scaled skin and reptilian eyes. His gold hair is down to his neck.
    Usually he wears a green robe embroidered with gold.
    In his hand, or it’s sheath, is a longsword made of silver with a steel hilt. Around his neck is a pendant wich practicly glows with magic.

    [Backstory]
    Chance was born long ago, so long noone, not even himself, remembers the circumstances surrounding it. He looked normal until around 6 or 7 when small patches of scales began to appear on his body and stubs of wings began to grow. He was cast out of his village when he began manafesting magic, despite only helping others with it. As he grew older he drew farther and farther away from society, and began worshiping Bahamut. As he travelled his power increaced and he defeated many evil villains.
    Eventually he gained some proper combat training, and turned out to be a natural. It was during this time he met an evil werewolf, and these two would become archenemies. They have not once fought to anything other than a draw.
    He became recognized by Bahamut and was granted wings, despite that he would not have gained them normaly.
    About a hundred years ago, fifteen or so after he met the werewolf, he had his sword forged, enchanted, and given intellegence, by a great warrior, great mage, and great cleric respectivly.

    He’s a half-dragon, gold, and based on a human.
    He has an impressive store of knowledge on the planes.

    Joined Saurous' Guild of the Magical Arts and Pisonics as the Head of Arcane Weaponry. Just forged 15 magical blades, and is giving them out to members of the guild.

    Quolannan, or Moon as he prefers to be called, is a rather tall elf, of light build. Despite this, he carries a massive Greatbow on his back. He wields it with great skill. Other than this he is nondescript.

    [Backstory]

    Until the age of 67 Moon appeared to be a normal elven child. At that time, he received his first bow and quickly mastered it's use. He became the greatest archer in much of the elven lands, and traveled much to hone his skills. Eventually, he became an Order of the Bow Initiate, and quickly rose through the ranks and became a squad leader.

    Weapons: Magic bow with arrows made especially to combat creatures with spell resistance, two rapiers with electricity damage, and a dagger handed down from her mother.

    [Backstory]
    Siarra was born in the Avarial city of Jespin many years ago. As soon as she could fly, she began exploring the world below the mountains on which her people lived. Although her childhood was mostly uneventful, it soon became apparent that her abilities where different from most other children. While most of her race where content to live in peace in the mountains, she was fascinated by the stories wandering minstrels told, and became more and more entranced by the earth below, instead of the open skies. As she never quite fit in because of her tiefling heritage, as soon as she came of age she left the mountains to explore the worlds. She sought and found many teachers, who taught her how to survive in the wilderness, and was taught many tales, lays and songs by the travelling bards she encountered.
    After a time of ridding the lands of monsters, she stumbled across a portal that led her into new worlds, where her adventures truly began...
    She is very claustrophobic due to her heritage, and won't stay in very crowded or cramped places for long. Though ususally calm, if anyone insults her or her companions, they'd better expect a fight, as avarial are a very diplomatic race, and don't take insults well.

    [Common Knowledge]
    She's an avarial ranger/bard that has tiefling roots. She will talk for hours if no-one stops her. At other times she will sit in a corner and glare at people while writing in a notebook.

    [Notes]
    Siarra will spin many yarns if anyone stays long enough to hear them, and loves to have an audience. She's also rather tempermental, sometimes jabbering non-stop, sometimes brooding in a corner. But mostly she talks.

    Animal companion: A hawk Siarra once found dying now follows her everywhere after she nursed it back to health. They seem to have a special bond, and, oddly, their eyes are the exact same colour.

    Items: Her items are as random as her personality. She tends to steal her items, use them, then throw them away. The items she always has with her are her +8 axe, her +2 crossbow, her +3 croquet mallet of smashing, and her belt of gender changing.

    Backstory - Snowraven is Nightstar's older sister. They used to operate as a pair until Nightstar went freelance and eventually quit the assassin trade, something that Snowraven has never forgiven her for since her inferior skills could not make up for Nightstar's abscence. Nightstar is by far the more dangerous of the 2, especially in a melee or gunfight but throughout the years of chasing her sister through the planes, Snowraven has developed an enviable skill with arcane magic to counteract the edge that her sisters affinity and relationship with shadows has always given her. She is now in the employ of Nightstar's former employer who was not pleased when Nightstar refused to fulfil a contract and is arriving in the Town to find her sister and bring her severed head back to her employer.

    Common knowledge - Snowraven is nowhere near the threat that Nightstar is in a fight normally unless she has managed to prepare with her spells. She doesn't have the emotional issues of Nightstar either, you can call her cute and see how far it gets you and she has no overwhelming compulsion to wreck bars. what she will do, however is gleefully massacre anyone between her and her sisters tiny, pretty, severed little head.

    Notes - I'm collating what happens to Snowraven with Nightstars notes, saves me bother. Oh yeah, she's LN now.

    Equipment: A dire rapier forged from two thin intertwining blades which waver back and forth along their lengths (resembling a length of chains vaguely), acting as a single blade, and flattens out into a small kite-shaped tip. This is Caydren's highly stylized signature weapon, Marrowscorn.

    Description: A rather dashing figure like most swashbucklers, Caydren wears no armor but loose fitting and moderately adorned clothing. Marrowscorn is always at his right hip. He is a capable fighter, dodging blades and spells to land a single death blow on an opponent. Against the common foe, a single lunge might cause death.

    Backstory: A mercenary by trade, Caydren Illthorn wandered far off lands in search of contracts to fight in a multitude of conflicts. Either for good or evil, he has made a very good living by his blade. Marrowscorn, his signature weapon, is a family heirloom passed through countless generations and eventually reach the duelist on the night of his first battle. As he began to take up fights in other planes, Cayden eventually found himself in the Town where he now tries to make a name for himself.

    Name: William Chase/Alias Robert Forest/Alias Nathan Anderson


    Superpowers/Abilities: Master of hand-to-hand combat, expert marksman with any conceivable weapon, proficient with explosive and incendiary devices, master of disguise. Only real superpower is danger sense--limited sixth-sense warning of trouble.


    Description: An unremarkable man, of average height and build, appearing in his early thirties (actually 29), with black hair and brown eyes perpetually hidden by dark, Aviator-style sunglasses. Though he is in excellent physical shape, it would be difficult to determine that just by looking at him.

    Chase is a freelancing hitman and gun-for-hire. Professional and loyal to his employer, he kills quickly and efficiently unless ordered otherwise. He cares little for the human lives he is hired to end, though oddly enough, he is friendly and pleasant when not at work and has been rumored to spend his spare time volunteering at animal shelters. He also has a curious code of morals. He will refuse to kill anyone he considers to be an ‘innocent’, though his definition of the term is limited compared to most others, encompassing, primarily, children and animals, though he will kill animals if he has to. Though he is well-paid for his expert services, he cares less for the money than he enjoys the pure thrill of the assignment, the adrenaline rush he get from outgunning, outfighting, or outsmarting his opponent. Though some might regard him as simply a skilled thug, he is quite intelligent and even a master chess player. His mastery of all forms of combat, garnered during a five-year search for the skills that would allow him to beat anyone, has allowed him to be successful even in a world where his opponents, as often as not, have metahuman advantages that go far beyond the sixth sense that has allowed him to escape death countless times. Before he goes into battle, he is meticulous in spending time researching the weaknesses of his enemies and acquiring the weapons and equipment to take advantage of those. He's come to the Town to find an area in which his abilities will truly be tested against the most powerful people he can find.

    Equipment: An array of weapons and equipment appropriate for his occupation. Also, what appears at first glance to be a gold filling in one of his back molars is actually a magic item making him impervious to spells that would force him to tell the truth.

    • He’s new, so not many people will know much besides what he looks like and whatever name he tells them.

    Brother Santiago/Fiscal Mereor

    Normally, Brother Santiago dresses in the simple clothes of a monk, carrying what appears to be a large metal cross on his back. The cross, however, appears to have a circle superimposed upon it, centered on the point of intersection on the cross and extending to half the length of each of the three shorter arms of the cross. A warm and pious man, he is clearly kind, though often a bit pushy about confessing one’s sins. A quick glance easily identifies him as a middle-aged man, apparently of Spanish origin, his hair beginning to gray. A gray goatee gives his face a slightly sinister twist sometimes, in the right light, if you have the imagination…

    When acting as one of the KNAVES, under the name of Fiscal Mereor, he is a much more sinister man. Devoted to giving the wicked “what they deserve”, he uses the cross he carries in a much deadlier manner than any such symbol should really be used—for with a flick of a switch, he can pop off the casing on the upper part of the cross and reveal that the arms are sharpened swords, the circle’s edge a blade. In addition, the tip of the cross has a small hole from which he can spray an extremely corrosive, concentrated acid, and the main length conceals a deadly dart gun. Skilled in its use and extraordinarily fast, he uses this weapon to strike fear in his enemy’s heart. He also carries several throwing knives with him. He delights in torture and causing pain, seeking to exact a confession by any means necessary. Dressed in a red inquisitor's tunic and robe and wearing a strange combination of a wide-brimmed red hat and an attached set of goggles that cover only the upper part of his face, he is single-minded in his quest to deliver his own particular brand of justice to anyone he sees as wicked.

    Born to a pious Catholic family in rural Spain, Santiago was fascinated at an early age by the workings of the Church, and it surprised no one when he chose to enter a monastery and life a life of religious devotion and contemplation. There he lived for years in simple happiness.

    However, this would be shattered when a confrontation between two powerful extraplanar entities spilled over onto the material plane, leaving behind it a rift in the fabric of reality. Stumbling upon this while taking a walk in the forest, Santiago studied the already closing hole. Clearly something not of this earth, but where did it lead. A part of him supposed that this was an opportunity granted him by divine grace--he always had possessed a powerful imagination. But mostly he was simply curious. Intending to simply look around and return, he walked into the rift...

    It is uncertain where in the vast multiverse he ended up, but it was certainly not what he was expecting. In fact, it was past his mind's capability to even comprehend where he was or what was going on. All he remembers of this time is pain and glowing lights... When he awoke again, he was far away from Spain. But in a way, he did not care much about this. He was a new man after his experience. He had ceased to be the kindly, caring Brother Santiago. While he kept his name, he was not who he had once been.

    It was not by chance, he was sure, that he had had this experience. He had been chosen to receive a divine mission. That mission, around which his now twisted brain was wrapped inexorably, was the punishment of the wicked. He had been gifted with the determination to seek them out, the clarity of sight to see them for who they were, and the speed and strength to bring justice to them.


    Common Knowledge: Not that much, as he's pretty secretive. He's obviously a religious man, that much is certain. At this point, his affiliation with KNAVES is not widely known.

    [Backstory]
    Fydan is a sarcastic warrior that has never told anyone much about her past. Apparently she was born in the slums of large city where she quickly learned to keep her mouth shut if she didn't want someone to tear her tongue out. She learned to fight there from a mentor who drove her to her limits. She grew up in these harsh conditions, learning to trust very few people.
    One day the slums were raided by a group of slavers. Although she survived their onslaught, her family didn't, and her sister was spirited away. The authorities turned a deaf ear, and so she vowed revenge.
    Fydan disppeared for two decades, returning to her home city only to start looking for the slavers that ruined her world. She searched for them for another few decades, only to finally relise that she would never find them. Depressed, she has wandered the land ever since, searching for a purpose and becoming increasingly bitter. The only things that seems to matter to her are her sword and an odd stone that seems to be able to teleport her short distances. Nothing of her adventures has yet been revealed to anyone.

    Over a little while it has come out that Sia raised herself on the streets of Dranell, a city in an unknown world. She lived with an urchin band (called 'kinterjells') until she was eight, when she was suddenly forced to fend for herself. Although she has not said much about this period, it has become known that she worked in a brothel for a few years until she was identified and picked up by the Co-Ordinater or one of his agents. She was trained until she could carry out high-level missions.
    It is not quite clear why she was sent to Town in the first place, but it likely has something to do with the orb she stole from the Temple of Elders.
    Nothing else of her life has been revealed.

    -Sia does not appreciate having any sort of physical contact with other people or animals, especially men.

    Desia Silvertongue.

    Race = Halfling
    Class = Rogue, 5
    Alignment and Temperament: Lawful Evil. Extremely rude to her friends and quite unspeakable to anyone she doesn't know. At the end of practically every sentence is an insult towards the person it's directed at.
    Age = ? (Not given; Desia is very senstitive towards giving out information)
    Height = Again, not measured.
    Weight = How many times do you ask the fiery halfling for her weight?

    Hair Colour and Style/Length = Red, tied up in a ponytail.

    Weapons = A drow poisoned dagger and a Jezail (a DM musket-esque creation)

    Backstory:


    Born and raised in the hands of an unknown league of assassins, Desia has learnt the hard way that compassion is for the weak and that only through obedience can true tranquility be maintained. From an early age her mind was poisoned with the seed of dark and murderous thoughts; her physical prowess was stacked up against various tasks. She had few friends and her master was cruel. Now she is training in her final tests before being accepted as a member of the Order (and thus one of the Masters.)

    Desia doesn't know her parents and doesn't care. They are irrelevant and unimportant to her missions.

    After being released on her first mission, Desia looks for a way to get close to her target, usually joining them on an adventure. She is a natural leader and diplomat, dispite her demanour towards her friends. She is two-faced; on one hand she is sweet and pure as honey, and to her party members a twisting snake.

    Common Knowledge:

    Known for several break-ins and robberies of quite high calibur, Desia has, so far, managed to avoid being arrested due to some nifty forgeries. Rumour has it that Desia's newest target for robbery is nearby, and many are questioning her motives and if she really is giving money to the poor, as she insists.She has been spotted reguarly meeting shadowy figures and known black marketers; but nobody has come forward with conclusive information as yet.

    Notes:


    Desia is not a kind person. Whilst being gifted diplomatically, her tongue has the tendency to slip rude remarks at any oppurtunity. This, in turn, usually makes her the most hated and yet valuable member of any party. She rarely gives out information; and if she does, it is usually false and misleading.
