Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
Now, the flaming letters thing had me laughing out loud for a few minutes.
Then the roof top confrontation got me smirking.
This though... this. I still haven't gotten over the shock but I'm going to be smiling about this one for weeks to come.

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
Lol at Elan correcting his Dad - "premature? no immature." Don't know why I thought that was so funny, but it was.
And that was only the beginning.
Also, I love the blurry swordplay. Perhaps we've seen it before, I can't remember, but it looks good.Last edited by ThePhantasm; 2010-11-24 at 05:42 AM.
"And yet, will we ever come to an end of discussion and talk if we think we must always reply to replies? For replies come from those who either cannot understand what is said to them, or are so stubborn and contentious that they refuse to give in even if they do understand." - St. Augustine

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
Applauds and thanks to the author for the incredible pace of high quality updates.
It doesn't seem unlikely Tarquin is a Dancing Swordsman, though he might just had played along with his son.
It's really awesome that eventhough he's apparently the EVIL one, he's no interest in harming his GOOD son, whereas his son apparently tries to make him surrender through force.
I think Elan is in for a major education in some point that'll both make him smart as Tarquin and realise that maybe the adventures violence way is not always the best possible option, and certainly not always what is the 'GOOD' option. Though I guess it'll only be temporary.

I feel that this, behind 758, is one of the best strips of this arc! Great puns, Elan and Tarquin!

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
You know, for a while I thought Tarquinn would be a fighter, maybe some type of blackguard, but I didn't see another dashing swordman coming. Although it makes sense, due to his obvious charisma.

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
Hehehe, the puns, the puns... well... they were quite advanced indeed. They didn't even hurt especially much, which is quite remarkable. Good work, giant.
It also seems that most of the slaves have burnt out by now.
Probably, but I think it's his high dodge AC that is displayed in this comic.Last edited by Teddy; 2010-11-24 at 05:55 AM.

This made me giggle. And Tarquin rather lazily defeating with a knife is so sexy shoed god of war. Foreseeable, but entertaining.

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
Well, the two each chose a theme for their punning (Dashing Swordsman for the win!) with Elan going by a fencing route (thrust, clear-cut, fence, Martial, riposte, smash, epée [pay], foil) while Tarquin makes parenting/breeding jokes (heir/air, a-parent-ly, success(or), (pro)created, scionce, beget).
I even think there's a difference in the quality of the puns - as if Tarquin has had more practice...

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
Well, that answers the who would beat who in a fight question. I think the real question now is what does Tarquin do now? Or maybe who comes to save the day? Haley? V? Malack? Man, I would love for it to be Malack.
Spoiler
In fact, I hereby predict that Malack will save the day, even though that's the longest long-shot I have predicted to date.

Re: OOTS #761 - The Discussion Thread
I notice Tarquin does NOT seem at all upset about Elan attacking him. In fact he seemed to rather to enjoy it. Boolsters my suspicion that Tarquin is pulling a Xanthos Gambit.
