fae player race.
I was hoping to play a fae (fey or whatever) and was wondering what races or templates could do this. I don't really wanna be the pretty butterfly winged dancy sparkling fey though. I was hoping for more of a creepy kind of historical fey. Any ways this would be possible would be useful.

Re: fae player race.
There's Killoren (Races of the Wild). They sound kinda unnerving and don't have any LA, which is nice. Alternatively, you could refluff a sparkly fey as dark and spooky (satyrs are already there), though a lot of the non-fairy ones seem to be minimum ECL 7 (which goes for satyr too).
There's a comprehensive PDF about templates from Crystalkeep, which I'd check out, but my PDF reading program is possessed or something.Last edited by JonRG; 2010-11-28 at 08:42 PM.

Re: fae player race.
If you have access to the Dragon Magazine Compendium there's the Unseelie Fey template. Arguably, it has an LA of +0, and with the Winter Chill Season's Power you're the creepy sort of Fey. Just ask your DM if you can not have wings at all instead of rolling to see what sort of wings you get (not having them is an option on the table).

Re: fae player race.
if you have Magic of Incarnum, i do believe Dusklings are fey, and they seem pretty dark (historical not so much)

There's also the Faun from 3.0 Dieties and Demigods. On the upside, they're type Fey, have no racial HD, and are +0 LA. On the downside, they have nothing going for them aside from a few small bonuses if you want to be a bard.
