Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
That could actually be a lot more useful, depending on the character. Looks as if a joke was in there, too, but I missed it. oh well.
Thoughts on where would be a good place to insert my no longer Siamese twin NPC's?
Advice for the Lil Shiro person's twin idea?
What are those Proprietor and Mad Sheila characters of yours about?
Also, I'll just toss the rest of Dr. Farcy's Christmas special into that apartment thread, then. I already typed it up. Somebody can prevent some later evil scheme, I suppose. When it isn't the middle of the holidays. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Two of the main characters of the webcomic El Goonish Shive are a squirrel-girl, and a boy who gains, by accident, the ability to morph into a girl. (Several girl forms, actually, one of whom gets split off into his twin sister...)
What are those Proprietor and Mad Sheila characters of yours about?

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Sounds plenty freaky, to myself, iElf. I'd go for it. We do need more mutants who don't just look like regular humans.
Towards the linky explanations, got it. Yay for something new to read. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
As the say in the Nexus, the bar is always the best place, but do whatever works for your character. I'm waiting for a suitably dramatic situation to present itself to introduce my second character, but mayhaps I should just come up with one of my own. Whatever dramatic situation comes up could be just what your character is waiting for, too? But then, I don't know anything about the character.
Yes, tossing a profile at us would be awesome. A link to the profile page (as well as to the bar, and other places) are in the first post. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
I see no large problems. How strong would her tentacles be? Or would they just be like extra arms? From that picture, it looks as if she has pink hair. Would that change color, too, or is that supposed to be more tentacles?
For a suggestion, I forgot. You should totally toss her into the random locations thread and help some people out with the holiday-themed adventure that's going on in there. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Suggestions! ---> Make the place seem more like a jail. I was surprised at how normal the lives are in Metropolis. Enforce a curfew and have anyone who has to be out after it escorted by a cop? Ah, or have Metropolis visited by some governmental bigwig to shake things up. Of course, The Hollow will have to stay a superly awesome haven. Hopefully? Oh, or, entirely disregarding what I just typed, have some crazy mutant accidentally (or not) destroy The Hollow, and now everyone has to go to the bar down the street that all of the cops go to.
My Dr. Farcy character will do some more evil stuff, soon. I'm formulating.
And if anybody has anything vaguely heroic for someone to do, my No Friction Dude will probably jump on it, only to be taken by the cops, only for Lech (and any others who want to help) to awesomely rescue him!
For anyone, I kind of felt bad about leaving Dr. Farcy's first victim unconscious in a car. Feel free to take advantage, I suppose. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
The curfew idea isn't a bad one same deal with stepping up the law enforcement.
The question is how would we determine the time in Metro since everyone is in different time zones.
Also escorted home is unlikely. Escorting the slime to the station for some questioning. Very likely.Avatar by me

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Well, I figure that some places will be open at all hours, like the hospitals or the people closing up the bars, so those people could get escorted home. But then, it would make sense for people's work schedules to accommodate the curfew. oh well. For dealing with timezones, well, if two people are on and interested in having their character deal with it, they can just type in here that they'd like for it to be past the curfew, and they'd like to get hassled. You could even do the creepy plotclone thing, having one doing less stressful things during the day, and the other totally shooting acidy blood from his eyes at a cop during the night.

I am certain of that. But still! Acidy blood, man! You don't expect it! Well, Dr. Farcy does, but hardly anybody else! Anyways, I shall brainstorm stuff up. At the least, I'll make up a cop character to throw at people.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Full Name: Detective Christine Hazel Hawkins
Age: Thirty
Photo: Nope.
Powers: Technically, no, but she is really good at crossword puzzles?
Reason in City: Work.
Announced Items: Whatever superly awesome stuff that the cops get for dealing with mutants. She'd usually just wear some fairly business casual stuff but keep a bulletproof vest, her concealed gun, and mayhaps some other small stuff for dealing with trouble. Also, things like luggage and changes of clothes. Pictures of her family. A mug in the shape of a drill bit. Lots of stuff. She's been living in Metropolis for a while.
Self Description and other Data: Average height, mayhaps a bit on the tall side. Keeps in shape but isn't any kind of particularly attractive. She tends to blend in fairly well with brown hair that's kept short and simple and a usually unhurried manner.
Address #: I dunno. One Thousand And Forty-Two Tenth Street, Apartment 112?
Personality: Stubborn, focused, meticulous, and intelligent. When off duty, she usually just relaxes at home, calls her family, watches the news, reads books. She is the sort who believes that she's just doing a job that needs to be done. She approves of the preventative measure that the government has taken, tossing all of the mutants into Metropolis. She does not approve of overt cruelty, though, and has uncovered a few of her fellow cops' little pasttimes. Sometimes, she actually gets their superiors to do something about it. Her family lives in a smallish town outside of Metropolis, and she's always looking forward to vacations.
Backstory: Grew up in that smallish town with smallish town values. Moved to some large city to be a cop and make a difference and all of that. Got married and had a daughter with some dude that she just kept giving traffic tickets to. As the mutant problem got worse and while Metropolis was being readied, I suppose, she became a detective and was frequently commended for her good work at flushing out dangerous mutants. She's been here for a while, now, and fears nothing but the bad coffee. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Hm. Say, Truor, have you introduced Nikodem somewhere? I haven't been keeping up with Metro all that much lately, so I don't know if there's somewhere Lech can show up looking for him.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
I haven't been able to yet, since I wanted to introduce him in a heroic fashion. I suppose that I could just create my own own little scene for him to be heroic in, but it seems as if it would be less awesome.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
It will happen, eventually. Farcy will be messing with someone, they'll shoot acidy blood, and he'll be flinging it off of himself and wailing, "See?! These mutants! Specifically designed to mess with me! Why?!"

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Understood. If those at the bar are up for some heroics, I can have this scene take place right outside. If you'd rather just go for the usual bar type socialization, though, I can just toss Dr. Farcy in there, to be antagonistic at.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
If you want, I can type something up in the Random Locations thread. Slick and Krystal would just be talking in their cells, but it could still be fun. I'll sleep on what to throw at whoever decides to rescue them. I figure that Krystal would be let out before Slick, though, if you want her to be one of the ones to be in on the rescue.
Also, as might already be obvious, I don't do scary very well, although I can handle creepy. Anybody who feels like playing a scary interrogator type could mess with our characters, I suppose. They'd just be overly paranoid about possible mutant uprisings. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.

Re: [Metro] Metropolis OOC
Okay! Heroic rescue plot time! I tossed some Private Message thingys at people to remind them that this Metropolis universe exists, and since not a lot of people who play in this universe are on, at the moment, it might be best to wait for a bit. But mayhaps not! I don't know. People can probably find ways to jump in on the plot, after it has started.
Lech could show up at The Hollow and see all of the destruction outside. Even if Ikako doesn't feel like being helpful, I figure that all of the NPC's at the bar would be able to tell him what happened. If Lech (or anyone else who'd be interested in helping Slick or Krystal out) doesn't look as if he'd be able to come up with some awesome plan to save the day, I plan on tossing a cop at him, which can be pumped for information on the police station. You're either an Outcast, or you're in denial.
