"Le gasp! We must cover that frown lest it down this town!" Ember runs through the water towards Atoya with the intention of glomping her.

Reinholdt giggles a bit.
"I wouldn't mind finishing learning though. I didn't get to." He totally probably chickened out and left on his own accord. Maybe.

He floats to the side to not get in the way of flying swim glomp.

"Yeah, we're fine D-" Atoya begins, smiling, before getting a sudden glomp from Ember.

Dani grins, then giggles as well at the glomp!

"Well, I'd be happy to show you how it's done!" she declares, swimming over more slowly.

Once she's pulled herself off of Atoya, Ember lays down upon a rock jutting from the hot tub lake and stretches.
"Come on, let's see what you all can do!"

"Wrong about what?"

Isaac smirks. The suits of armor should bash into a second wall of force, this one made by the small pentacle he's standing into. This one is to keep things out, instead of the large one which keeps things in. The imp sniggers and sticks a discolored tongue out.

At this time, the magician presses his hand down hard on the shark tooth he was holding. It cuts into his hand, and blood drips over it and to the ground. Isaac chants a few words in an ancient language, and summons the spirits of the dead.

Necromancy!

The teeth swirl into the air, blood mingling with them. They begin forming together, into the shape of a shark's jaw. Then, an entire shark materializes, twenty feet of monstrous dead fish. It is as white as a ghost and without flesh, as if skeletal. Empty eye sockets turn to Ar, and the monster's jaws open to reveal rows upon rows of never-ending teeth instead of a throat.

It flies through the air as if it were water, the thrashing of its large tail somehow propelling it forward. It shoots toward Ar, its aim simple: eat him. Eat him a lot. Gnashing teeth try to bite his head off.

Reinholdt gives a small smile.
"Alright. But you have to wear a top when you do. Fair?" He points somewhere over to where Dani pointed back when she told him where her clothes were.
... Are we sure this guy is sane?

"Oh, we're doing it here?"
That sort of... defeats his get Dani back in clothes plan.
He floats over to Ember.

Dani pouts, but starts to nod...but when Ember indicates they're to do it in the pool, she just giggles. "Awww...I can still put it on if you REALLY need me too..."

She's already swimming over to Ember, though, and climbing up to kneel on the rock next to her.
"OK, just watch what I do, and learn, alright?"
And she starts with massaging Ember's shoulders.
She's...VERY good at this. >_>

"Wow!" Ember's really surprised.
"Massages have gotten a lot better in the past 500 thousand years!"

((What's bad is that yesterday one of the nurses and I were talking, and apparently, there is a nerve in the foot, that, if pressed on a perfectly relaxed person, can cause almost all of the pleasure nerves in the body to go off at once!))

"I..." His protests fail when she goes ahead and begins though. He just sighs, climbs up and watches closely. He at least knows what he's looking at/for. So he should be able to learn.

Interesting fact: Ar arms all his golems with anti-magic blades, because of you know, twenty years of duels with other casters. The golems begin to try to attack the forcefield and cut it to shreds. The shark may also discover a cube of force appearing around it, which should stop it in it's tracks.

"That's 'cause I wasn't here that long ago, silly!"
Dani giggles, and gives FHR tips and comments as she works her way down Ember's back, concentrating on her lower back, before skipping to her legs (see, she does have SOME decorum, at least....), working down and back up them, then the lower back again...intensively...then back up to Ember's shoulders. All slowly and thoroughly.

FHR asks a few questions along the way, but otherwise nods and takes it in.
I imagine the questions make sense.

(I have an intense urge to bludgeon you over the head TE because of the ridiculous stuff your characters do. ...now I have an IC reason to have someone involved in doing just that.)

There were certain benefits to working for The Nightingale.

In Xaviers mind the jobs he got was never one of them. As one of the top agents he always got the crappy jobs. Jobs so dangerous that they just weren't assigned to anyone else.

This was one of them, apparently the real Mercury had returned. Putting a minor chink in the plan to have their fake Mercury drive Maxios insane and make LANTERN do stupid stuff.

This meant it was Xavier's job to find Mercury and kill him. On the bright side. Someone had just said his name..... that made tracking it that much easier.

With a bright flash of light. He appears in the fields where the duel is going on... That was a little closer then he would have liked. Since the stealth route was was he was going for here.

Still not much he could do about it now.

((How do the golems, presumably animated by magic, use anti-magic weaponry? ))

Schematics aside... The golem's anti-magic blades go straight through the forcefield. However, the rest of their bodies and arms are stopped, allowing Isaac to back up a bit and out of the blades' reach. Repeatedly slashing the wall has no effect on it permanently, though the blades go through.

The magician himself frowns and starts waving his fingers, muttering under his breath. The smell of brimstone fills the air, and a half-dozen lion-sized black dogs crawl out of the ground. The red-eyed hellhounds growl and look around. Isaac hasn't actually commanded them, but they cannot get through his pentacle. So two streak off to try and bite Ar while the other four three* leap at the suits of armor. Their unholy teeth are more than capable of ripping most metals to shreds.

The shark bounces into the cube of force. And rams it again, this time mouth open. Thousands of teeth, sharper than razor-sharp, grind against the magical wall. It's not a regular shark at all, and bites at the very magic itself. Devouring any conventional wall of force in three or four bites.

Atoya undeadtimes! And watches the massage happening, while sipping her nog and drifting into tipsiness again.

(How does the Nightingale know anyway? As for the golems, their right arms, where the blades are, are mechanical.)
The golems stagger back, one losing it's left arm, the others sustaining hits to various portions of their bodies. They retaliate, swinging their blades at the hounds with the intention of decapitating them. Ar, meanwhile, has finished casting. Two pulses of anti-magic, precisely shaped, hit the shark and Isaac's pentacle.

He's been monitoring LANTERN.

Maxios mentioned Mercury being back. At a time when his fake Mercury was not in the LANTERN station.

Suggesting that Mercury might actually have been back.

The second part was just a matter of homing in on the name and teleporting to where it was spoken.

Since that area was warded he ended up near it instead.

Xavier looks up... something was rushing him. It looked dog like. With one smooth motion he draws and fires his gun right at the hellhounds head. Propelling a bullet of pure force at it.

Now where was his target? He doesn't even both looking to see if the bullet connects and beings surveying the area around him looking for Mercury. A wicked grin plastered on his face.

Xavier's hellhound gets killed! Poor doggy, it just wanted to lick his face. Off.

One of the hounds fighting the golems is similarly dispatched. One of the others ducks and sustains shoulder injury, but doesn't stop mauling. The other nimbly dodges and goes for one of the golems' throat, not being smart enough to recognize it as non-organic.

The pulse of anti-magic destroys the shark, disintegrating most of its body besides its front row of teeth. Which drops to the ground.

The other pulse goes through the pentacle, disabling the protection it gives. While the pulse is passing. Once its gone, the wall of force shoots right back up from the chalk lines as Isaac reactivates it. Seeing as how anti-magic can't erase chalk.

The magician hesitates and curses, realizing he can't summon especially strong and evil monsters if his wall can be disabled for even a split second.

He then grins, and begins chanting again. The language he intones the summoning in is almost like music. A rainbow begins to appear...

Unnoticed by everyone else as the fighting actually begins. Ory slips into a coma. Delta-7 the droid that resides in his cybernetic goggles is going absolutely insane. But she has no way to make herself known to anyone but Ory. the only sign something is more wrong than Ory being passed out is that the goggles would now feel warm to the touch.

((Well, I'm out for the night, try not to burn the place down around the helpless hoverboarder. If someone wants to they can get him medical help just send me a PM so I know to wake up in the hospital thread.))

Sadly, quiet drama is quickly forgotten when fighting takes place. Right now a young man is slipping deeper and deeper into a coma and a small droid is reaching the AI equivalent of hysteria. All of this to the background of laughing people, energetic music, and splashing bodies.

A stranded young man
A glimpse of hope
A broken ego
A foolish choice
An unnoticed end?

Hopefully not an unnoticed end...

As (now that there's un-deadtime to be noticed), Dani finishes her massage of the totally relaxed (and deadtimed, it seems) Ember, and looks around.

"Hey, what happened to Ory?"

The golem who killed his hehound rushes the uninjured hellhound, even as it rips off it's glem's head, and the two attack in deadly concert. The other one sustans yet more wounds, but continues to fight, using a variety of slashes, jabs and kicks. Meanwhile, Ar tries something mean. He tries to animate the ground beneath Isaac into a golem, who (if it works) will promptly try and swallow him.

Meanwhile, a good bit away, sits a entirely ordinary rock protecting by a metric ton of anti-detection wards, including wards designed to keep the other wards from being detected.

Xavier looks at the two men again. One of them was supposedly Mercury. And he didn't know which one.

He decides to just ask. "Excuse me, I was wondering? Which one of you is Mercury, my boss has a proposition for you." He still has that self same satisfied smirk on his face.

However he has dropped his gun arm down to his side. So to appear less threatening.

"Who?" Reinholdt asks.
"The guy sleeping against the wall or the guy sleeping in the chair?"
He looks over at Crae and Ory. He doesn't know how either of them could sleep, but whatever.

He looks at Ember. Was he supposed to try now or would that ruin what Dani did? Probably best to hold off for now. Right?

"Ar over there is Mercury."

Isaac stops his chanting a bit to point at his opponent, then goes right back to it.

The ground beneath his feet fails spectacularly at animating. As it's inside his pentacle, which protects everything in it from any magical influence coming from outside it.

The hellhound is killed by the two golems working together. This leaves one more fighting the lone golem... and two others still trying to get Ar.


A rainbow streams through the air! Thundering hooves sound the arrival of the next monster Isaac summons!

A unicorn! The huge horse tosses its silver mane and snorts angrily. It charges straight for... the hellhound fighting the golem, which is skewered on a shining horn and disintegrated. The majestic white beast then turns straight for the golems, rearing up to thunder heavy iron-shattering hooves upon the suits of armor.

Isaac goes back to summoning even as the unicorn appears. This time his chant is barely a whisper, and sounds more like the chittering of an insect.

"Um, the one in the chair. Hasn't he been asleep for awhile? Um, if she wakes up you try..."

Dani slips into the water and swims, dexterously, over to the edge of the hot tub, where she climbs out and walks over to Ori (not bothering to put on anything), reaching out to shake his shoulder curiously.

"Yeah ok."
Reinholdt sits by Ember's deadtime, getting swallowed into it until she wakes up. Must've been a really good massage to have fallen asleep during it.

Ar quickly weaves a rune in the air to throw the hellhounds back. The golem the unicorn was attacking rushes forward and tries to stab the beast in it's underbelly, while the other two rush to attack the chalk pentacle, seeing as nothing else works. A falsehood. I am the man known as Mercury's apprentice, and have been pretending to be him for certain reasons, primarily his avengeance.

"Whatever. You're the one who has been pretending to be him."
Xavier's grin widens. "So your the one I was sent to find." His had clicks something on his pistol setting it to semi-auto. He'll lift it up in one rapid motion and fire it at Mercury, one two three, four times. Sending a series of projectiles of pure force directly at him. "I'm afraid you've got in the way of certain plans."
