Ah, didn't realize he actually threw the bolt at Mercury. Mercury looks at the oncoming bolt, and laughs. He doesn't even try to dodge or block, but instead mutters abother spell. This one takes but an instant to act, and is quite simple. No-one who knows that Mercury faked his own death will be (almost certainly) rendered unable to communicate this knowledge to anyone, a spell cast with all the power of a Daemon fueled archmagi. Then he winks, and an instant before the bolt strikes, his entire body radiates light and explodes. And that rock becomes an entirely normal rock once more.

Reinholdt moves on to her arms, massaging them.
"Let me know if you need more pressure or less pressure."

Ivaz smirks a little and puts on her best sultry voice. Which is fairly good.

Oh, more, please. More.

She's mean.

Reinholdt puts on more pressure, possibly to the point of hurting her. His niceness has limits, unlike Butler.

Atoya giggles. "Be nice to him, Ivaz, he's cute."

She laughs a little. Ah, I'm just playin.

Ilyena feels the spell attempt to take effect, grits his teeth and quickly spits out a series of spells he's prepared: a pillar of stone shoots out from the ground to meet his feet, and as it rises to meet him, he spits out the syllable of an anti-magic effect, nullifying everything within ten feet of him. Deep breath; he doesn't quite know what Mercury's spell was trying to accomplish, but he sure as hell isn't gonna let it succeed. Within the field, the effect should loosen hold on his mind; even if it reasserts itself after he leaves the field, Ilyena can already think of several ways of getting around its effects.

From the top of the pillar, he curses violently and quitely, surveying the field. He hops down from the spire, and as soon as he leaves the anti-magic orb, he resumes flight. He heads higher into the air; mumbles a new spell. It detects magic, but also stretches out in time, moving in two directions: outwards and backwards. The spell works in multiple ways: if there are areas it can't detect magic, it tests for an absence of magic. If it can't find that, either, it flags the area. The rock should show up relatively soon.

Dani happens to be watching, intently, as she waits for the deadtime ooze to let go of Ory.

"Looks like he learns fast!"

Reinholdt sighs a bit and moves on to Ivaz's legs, applying the same hard pressure.

"You know it's not a good idea to tease your masseur therapist doctor thingy, right?" Pfft. He's totally none of those.

He'd probably blush more at Atoya and Dani's comment, but I think he's run out.

That may not work. The spell was multi-layered. For one, it makes the victims unable tocommunicate the knowledge by messing with their mind. For another, it actually screws with the universe itself, making it literally impossible to do so. It was ridiculously strong, as Mercury threw twenty years of pent up, Old One level power into it. As for the rock, it was also very well warded. Mercury was quite determined that this time his death would seem undeniable. The wards hid only the other wards and enchantments, ambient magic level remained unchanged.

Also, Prince was fine with going to the Wish Shop to get rid of Moff's screwing around. That worked fine, even if I'd have prefered it did not. What gives you the right from telling me that your effects are impossible to counter, and mine aren't?

Either way, Ilyena is more than willing to spend hours or days in this field, excersizing his thirty years of expirience with creating world-shattering spells, attempting to pick appart spells Mercury cast in a few moments. Eventually, he'll find some sort of lead, some sort of trail. Or maybe he won't. In which case, TE, you're a lost cause.

Ory doesn't wake up and in fact its not certain at first that he's breathing at all. He certainly isn't taking in deep breaths. His chest is barely moving and if one takes time to listen his breath sounds thin and reedy. Something is clearly not right.

(Was going to make a point here. You know he faked his death you just can't communicate it. It's not entirely unreasonable.

If I was him I'd want at least something he did to be effective against his opponents one part of his plan to work.

If you won't give him that little bit of fun, at least of having outsmarted his opponents in one way how does that make him any more of a lost cause then what your doing?)

First off, I saw no post to that effect, ever. Second, I get the impression Ilyena is just going to keep following Mercury, forever, and making it impossible for him to do anything, forever. Three, I never said it couldn't be done, I just explained how the spell worked. If Ilyena is willing to keep going at it, he'll find something eventually. However, if Ilyena is going to hound Mercury forever, then I might as well just permadeadtime him now, because three's obviously pretty much nothing I can do to stop him. That's all I'm saying.

"Huh?" Atoya walks over to Dani and Ory. "What's the matter? I'm helpless in medical situations... is something wrong with him?"

Not quite sure what youre referencing in your first point.

Second, Ilyena doesn't like being outsmarted, especially when it comes to magic.

And third, for the umpteenth time: I don't see how you expect Nexus to just forget about Mercury after the stuff he did. If you wanna permadeadtime him because you can't accept the consequences of what he did, that's your right. It'd just be a rather unfair, dissapointing thing to do.

I'm sure you can come up with a solution to this problem that ends in a manner satisfying for everyone that doesn't include "Mercury win, everyone else loses."

Dani would be distracted, herself, by Ivaz, but has bigger worries now.

"His breathing, it's not right, and he's not waking up - ow!"
It's more a 'surprised' than 'hurt' Ow, as the curvy, scantily-clad redhead jerks her hand back in surprise. "Hey, those things are warm! I wonder what's with that? Maybe they're knocking him out somehow!"

Ivaz nods in agreement. She doesn't seem too interested in anything else going on at the moment.

"Maybe they can come get him or something..."
