Jungle Splats? [Esp. D&D 3.x]
Hi people!
I'm about to run a D&D 3e campaign where the PCs will will delve into unexplored rainforests. I've got a pretty good grasp of what the campaign is going to look like in terms of plot hooks and mood, but I'm looking for neat sources to flesh out the jungle with distinct monsters and encounters.
I'm pretty familiar with most of the setting-independent WotC sourcebooks, but I don't know anything resembling an It's Jungle Outside. Does anyone know of any interesting splatbooks that I could mine for ideas? I'd prefer D&D 3rd edition books (especially setting-specific or 3rd party sources, as those are the ones which would be new to me), but I'm not afraid to homebrew if there's some brilliant Creepy Fantasy Rainforest resource for another gaming system.

Far corners of the World did a jungle series, but I think that's it.

While it does not fall under the umbrella of 3.5e, I'd like to suggest Heart of the Jungle; a supplement put out by Paizo for their Pathfinder product line.
It may have what you are looking for; "New rules for adventuring in the jungle, including hazards like diseases, fungi, poisonous plants, insect swarms, quicksand, and more; new monsters, including the flesh-eating botfly, the ancient jungle treant, and the terrifying ape-men known as angazhani; massive random encounter tables for multiple jungle adventure terrain types" et al.
Here's the mokele-mbembe for that unexpected encounter. To see the world in a grain of sand
and Heaven in a wild flower
To hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and eternity in an hour.

I remember a jungle-themed monster book by a 3rd party, but I don't remember the name. Go to RPGnet and search 3.5 and Jungle. It should find it for you.
