Default So, I'm wondering about the best equivilants for a few spells... (3.5)

... Specifically, Protect and Shell from Final Fantasy.

    Any ideas?

Hm... Stoneskin does fit... But resist energy only affects one type...

I think there's an higher level spell that gives you resistance to all energy types in a sourcebook somewhere...

Globe of invulnerability could also be a match for Shell, I think?

I think Energy Absorption (Sorc/Wiz 7, pg. 103, ComMage) gives you what you want. Not quite the same as Shell, but close.

There's a BoED spell that causes you to take half damage from all sources (Empyreal Ecstasy I think?), which is mechanically what Protect+Shell does in those games. Maybe call it an equivalent for Big Guard?

Hm... That works! Now all I need is a way other than Arcane Fusion to get that, Stoneskin, and Haste cast in the same round...

Hm... I see that. Unfortunately, it does not appear to be one I can use...

Another possibility (also from BoED) could be Exalted Raiment (Sanctified 6, pg. 99). Gives DR/Evil, +AC, SR and reduces ability damage. It does cost you 1d4 Strength damage per casting though, so its use might be limited. Might not be perfect, but worth consideration if it's available.
