Im making a 4th level anything but it has to be only from books, any op 4th level builds?

I hear Divine Metamagic (Complete Divine) is horrendously broken - especially with Persistant Spell (Complete Arcane).

Needs a bit of feat investment, but if you're a human with two flaws and take the Planning Domain (free 'Extend Spell' feat) it should be doable by level 4 with a fair bit of ease.

Expect your DM to veto it though.

Official WotC only, or are 3rd party products available? (Like Dragonlance, for example.)

And it would really help if you tell us whether you want a caster, non-caster, skill monkey, universe-ending great weapon guy, Cuisinart style dual weapon dude, etc, etc.

Also, what do you get for stats? That's so we don't suggest something that you don't have multiple high stats to support.

Hey buddy, you get out of this process what you put it. "Best" doesn't really tell us anything. Do you want to melee? Cast spells? Weave baskets? Cause....yea...right now, you are pretty much not putting anything in, and we have no idea how to help...

I know it's bad form, but with all that you're telling us the only thing we can suggest is Pun-Pun. It's the only answer to your question as currently stated. I strongly suggest you alter your question until this is no longer the case.

do you start at 4th level or do you cap at 4th level? are you playing solo or do you have a team? at least you should specify that.

Needs more Drunken Master. How else are you supposed to use your baskets as improvised weapons?
