Shadowspray?
Shadowspray from SC lists a duration of the spell, but it seems to just be a blast spell.
What effect is the duration for exactly?

The Strength damage has a duration, I would think.

Well, it's not meant to be permanent damage, and stat damage isn't like negative levels, that have a built-in "timer". Therefore, I would think that the duration applies to the Strength damage. Originally Posted by Hanuman

Spell Compendium Errata:
Page 186- Shadow Spray [Substitution]
The duration of this spell is in error. It should read:
"Duration: Instantaneous"
There ya go.

Ability damage is generally permanent.
It's damage. Of course it's permanent until healed.

Well, ability damage heals at a rate of 1 per day. There are also spells to cure it. I wouldn't call it permament. Originally Posted by arguskos

Well, as permanent as any stat damage is. Remember, it comes back at a rate of 1 point per day, double with bed rest. Also, restoration and friends.
