    Default Module Recomendation [3.5]

    Hello all,

My group (as well as my self) are looking to take a break from more intense rping and do a dungeon crawl.

I have some specific needs for a module.
    I currently have 2 players.
They both want a semi kick in the door dungion crawl(more fighting then rp or traps).
Both of them are D&d vets. Though not huge optimisers I'm not worried about sending them into a dungeon as a duo. (they did sunless citidel before with a 3 man group no healer)
Generally when i have less then 4 people running a module i make them 1 level above the recommended starting level.
No idea what classes they are going to be. And I'm prolly not going to have DMNPC's.
The module needs to start between levels 6-8. some level 9+.
    Preferably not a long module.

Any one have any recommendations with the above in mind.

Well, I like S&S's Aberrations. Lots of killin', and it's right in the level range you want.

Heart of Nightfang Spire isn't bad, but it's 10th level. White Plume Mountain is ok, too. It's 7th level but it's more traps than fighting. I never really enjoyed any WotC adventures, until the current edition of Gamma World.

EDIT: I take that back. My friends and I just did Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, which I enjoyed, but it's looooooooooooooooong.

You might still be able to dig up the campaign journal I did for EtCR. We never got to finish the module, though, so I never got to finish the journal.

Well, now. Here it is, if you're interested. It was thouroughly enjoyable (as far as we got, that is).

Barrow of the Forgotten King is APL6, IIRC, and isn't terribly long. Very dungeoncrawly, with some undeaders and some traps and some non-undeaders.

RHoD is REALLY REALLY REALLY long, but epic. Goes from APL5-6 to APL10, which passes straight through your desired territory.

How ravenloft is it? Is it something that is generic enough that can be run in other settings?

Strahd VonZarovich is pretty much as Ravenloft-y as they come. But the best part about Ravenloft: Anyone can get to Ravenloft. Anyone. mwahahaMwaHaHaMWAMWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!
I'm sorry, did I get any evil on you?

I assure you, there is nothing scary in the Tomb of Horrors. Nothing but good clean fun for the whole family. Oooh, that's it. Escorting a family of tourists through the tomb. I've got to do that next time.

Ravenloft is fairly distinct, but everything meshes pretty well with it. I can't think of any setting that lacks undead and so forth, so even without the mists explanation(which is easy enough), it's not hard to fold it in somewhere. My only complaint is Strahd feels a little overdone.

    Fair enough.

    hahah...

Alright any recomendations on non undead adventures? Just so i have a wide array of options...

And yes thought about tomb of horrors... I've run it a few times. They know it pritty well unfortunatly.

    Edit:
It is my goal during any game of Ravenloft as a pc to kill strad atleast once.

Speaker in Dreams is pretty nice and fairly short, I think it's 5-7 in terms of levels.

S&S's Prisoners of the Maze is nice. Levels 9-12. I've heard good things about Expedition to the Demonweb Pits, as well.

Hellspike Prison is nice, but it takes a lot of DM prep.
