    Default Pathfinder: Toughness or Dodge?

    given the choice (Dex>12)
is Toughnes with 1HP per Level (after 3rd)
    to be preferred over
Dodge with +1 dodge bonus to AC ?

max 20HP doesn't sound impressive: it's maybe one melee hit or two.

and while those HP are a gonner after that hit, the AC bonus keeps staying around to prevent further hits.

at higher levels AC doesn't matter so much as a miss chance.

so at most it gives you a 5% chance of not being hit again provided you pump your AC up a good deal.

so at lets say 10th level
those 10HP are going to keep me alive longer than the +1AC?

Strictly speaking, yes. But what'll keep you alive even better is killing your enemy quicker. Are you sure that there aren't any better feats for you to pick? Can we see a sheet?

It's a general question I wondered about, not PC specific.
My current PC needed Dodge for Mobility.

Oh, well as regards feat taxes, I find dodge to be much more common. And hey, Pathfinder made both of them suck less, so who am I to complain?
