Re: OOTS #776 - The Discussion Thread
Huh, I notice one woman is crying. And then in an earlier panel she appears to be angry at Tarquin's speech. Are they tears of joy or was she just "angrily happy" before? And does that lizardman have a tan?

Re: OOTS #776 - The Discussion Thread
Im starting to think Tarquin isnt as bright as I thought, letting Elan speak after he recently tried to kill him after telling Elan of his plans, not a good idea.

There's a reason Elan is one of my favorite characters. And Tarquin, too. Great comic, as usual.

I'd love to hire Elan as author for my next speech *g* Demotivational speaking is THE big hype in the current economy ;)

Re: OOTS #776 - The Discussion Thread
Wow, twice in a row...
I know by experience how attempts to express something observant and meaningful sometimes just produce something amazingly flat and anti-climactic.
Well, the good people of the Empire of Blood seem to be going through a rather horrific epiphany. I wonder whether the Empire becomes the next less-than-democratic desert-state to be overcome with massive public protests. Those seem to be common these days.Last edited by CorvusOmbra; 2011-02-16 at 11:15 AM.

Man, Elan sucks even at sucking
By the way, have we seen any signs of oppression outside of slaves yet? It seems a bit strange reaction from the people who were just cheering gladiators die for their amusement.

And they expect this guy to talk his way into the illusion-filled stronghold of a rather bitter Gate-guarding illusionist?

Re: OOTS #776 - The Discussion Thread
We've seen that not having the proper papers gets you sentenced to death, that the Death Squad kills you if you mention the Death Squad, that Tarquin's enemies end up buried in a ball pit, and that the police break up a bar fight by battering everyone down and then sorting it out afterwards.
Then add in the fact that nobody voted for the Empress of Blood, marching bands are chosen based on which one mutilates the most competitors, and all of those things that happen to slaves could happen to them if they broke the rules and were enslaved tomorrow.Last edited by SPoD; 2011-02-16 at 11:27 AM.

Re: OOTS #776 - The Discussion Thread
Hmm... So Elan's rating of success if inversely proportional? I guess that explains why he's more effective the less he knows...

Tarquin not agreeing not to kill anyone if the show may or may not have been enjoyed by certain people was fun.

Is "Amplify Sound" a Homebrew spell? I can't seem to find it on Google, but that's because I keep finding all kinds of other things about amplifying sound.

Re: OOTS #776 - The Discussion Thread
Is it truly evil of me that I zoned out during Elan's speech and just skipped to Tarquin's response and the very bewildered expressions on the crowd's face?
Blah blah talk talk LET'S GET IT ON!!!
Yes, that's probably very evil of me.
Respectfully,
