new races in eberron
We all know the jist of how the core and setting specific races are treated, but what about other races, in the psionic handbook for instance?

Re: new races in eberron
Psi in Eberron is deeply associated with Dal Quor. Psionic races, then, could be other version of Empty Vessels. Elans could be a previous "version" of the Inspired, Druegar and Half-Giants could be potential future possessees, etc.

Re: new races in eberron
One basic concept of eberron is "if it appears in an official (3.5e) book, it's part of the (3.5e) setting)".
So everything from books published before the Eberron CS should already have been considered by the writers. We are not standing on the shoulders of giants, but on very tall tower of other dwarves.

Re: new races in eberron
Mind Flayers created the Gith races as servants. When the connection to Xoriat (the home of Illithids) was severed, Githyanki fled to Astral Plane while Githzerai moved to Kythri, the Churning Chaos. Some small communities remain on Eberron.
Half-Giants mostly live in Sarlona, and are descended from giant explorers from Xen'drik mixed with Sarlonan humans (humanity originated in Sarlona).
Dromites live in insular city-hives under much of Sarlona.
Akiak (mixed tribes dwarves and duergar) live on the northern reaches of Sarlona, having been betrayed and nearly wiped out by the Inspired.
Maenads have their fishing villages on the islands northeast of mainland Sarlona and claim to have had a great civilization that sunk beneath the sea. The occasionally disappear without a trace.
Xephs are natives to Adar and rarely seen outside it.
Thri-Kreen are mysterious dwellers of Xen'drik. Stormreach was once their city, and still retains some of their architecture and relics (including a rather freaky indestructible fountain).
Elans are created when a quori spirit is bound into a human as a punishment. The imprisonment changes the human into elan, and prevents the quori from interacting with the world in any way.
[Edit]: Player's Guide to Eberron outlines the roles for a huge variety of races. Secrets of Sarlona contains more info on most psionic races.Last edited by Greenish; 2011-02-23 at 12:27 PM.

Re: new races in eberron
Nah. I think they used Empty Vessels instead, which sucks because Elan are awesome.

Re: new races in eberron
So, they stat out Gaara and Naruto as Empty Vessels, and then stat Killer Bee as an Elan? I think something's gone wrong there.
