Default Adventure Writing (Do not read this, Sire Brenshar!)

My group hasn't played in a while, (we play 3.5, with ToB) and, to rekindle interest in my 2 more regular players, I am planning to write a short adventure (2-3 sessions of about 3 hours each) that is completely directed towards their favoured types of gaming.

The combat encounters will be few, but very challenging (for player 1), and there will be out of combat, lead-up situations, for the players to solve to gain an advantage in the fights that they know (after the first one) will be very difficult. I am going to throw in some mystery solving, too (both these things for player 2).

Has anyone ever tried something like this?

I haven't, so any opinions, advice, etc.. is very welcome.

    Thanks all!
