Butler grins at the idea. Still having no idea who Reinholdt is.

"So can I get you anything ma'am? Something special perhaps since you were shot ma'am?"

[VampireRot]

"Eh. Jus' a rum would be fine."

Ermine tries to return Butler's grin. It doesn't work out too well, really.

[Reinholdt]

Butler nods and goes to get Ermine some rum and set it next to her when he returns. A case or a jug or whatever.

"It'll get better ma'am."

Infirmary

Sarah is here! Totally gravitating towards her new magical mentor!

Oh hey, there's her guardian. A huge, chitinous semi-humanoid beast bends and squeezes sideways through the door. Orich glances at Ghar, then at Sarah. And simply stomps to her side before hunching down to... guard, apparently.

"Tanks."

Ermine will drink rum! And look out at the water! Of course, the lake has no waves and doesn't have the right fishy smell. Bah, fresh water.

[Infirmary]

Ghar watches Orich somewhat warily, not knowing his capabilities. He gently brushes against the beast's mind to get a a sense of his mental faculties.

As he does this he focuses on Sarah. "Would you like you first lesson now?" He eyes her bloody clothes. "Maybe you should change your clothing first."

[Reinholdt]

"See you around ma'am."

Butler turns to head off and clean stuff! Clean clean!

Infirmary

Orich does not seem to be all that bright. His meager mental faculties seem to be based off those of another being. An artificial mind, if Ghar can tell that much.

"No, I'm fine in this!" Sarah says, restraining herself from jumping for joy. She looks impatient to get started, unsurprisingly. "We can start."

[Gullara]

"We can." I hope she can read.

"Follow me." Ghar will lead Sarah and her guardian out of the infirmary and toward a secluded part of the lakeside.

But first he explains somethings as he walks. "You will start by learning arcane magic, specifically evocation. Later we will move on to other forms of magic such as flesh manipulation, mind magic, and mana bonds."

He's testing her by the way.

Duck!Crae will try to follow Ghar and Sarah, if he can, and watch the goings-on. Mainly because he's bored and first lessons in magic usually have at least one entertaining slip-up.

If he's testing what she knows about magic, it appears to be nothing. At least, by the confused but curious expression on her face and her reply. "What's evocation?"

Then a duck follows them! She looks at it curiously, but seems amused by the little waddling creature.

That's exactly what he's testing. And Duck!Crae is free to follow along. Ghar plans to have a chat with him sometime too.

"Evocation is the manipulation of energy. It gives the impression of creating something from nothing, although a practiced mage knows that is far from true. They often can cause large amount of damage and most commonly take the form of fire, ice, and lightning. At least in the case of the more simple spells."

A lot to pile on a six year old.

They reach the lakeside. One should note that it is night, and has been the entire time since Sarah met Ghar. >.>

The vampire turns to face his apprentice. "For example." He snaps his fingures and a flame appears in the palm of his hand.

Sarah seems to understand it all perfectly. I'm sure he notes this.

He may also note her childlike enthusiasm at the prospect of actual magic. She peers at the flame as if it were some sort of miracle, which he might've seen her doing back in his Sanctum as well. "I think I understand. Will I be able to do that?"

[Gullara]

The vampire notes the understanding. This was even more promising than he'd hoped. Now all he has to really worry about is weakening her loyalty to her friends and family and strengthening her loyalty to him. But that is something for the future.

"That and much, much more." Ghar says. He closes his hand and extinguishes the flame.

Normally there would be a period of study and magic theory before Sarah ever cast her first spell, but that's boring this is a special case.

"You will have to rely one hand movements and words of power to start with. Let me show you." He makes a simple movement with his fingers and speaks a single word.

"Now you try." With her potential he expects Sarah will be able to manage.

"Like what else?" She asks, before falling silent as he does the whole hand-motion thing.

And so she mimics it. In fact, he might note her hands move in exactly the same way his did. But she mangles the word of power, just a little. Wonder how that works out.

Oh no!

Nothing happens. Boring I know, but it's like turning a lampshade instead of flicking the switch. It's not going to make it explode.

Of course for more advanced spells it's different.

"Like causing a plant to grow. Creating a fierce storm. Making yourself able to fly. Summoning elementals. Creating undead. But all tof that requires you to be able to speak the words properly." Ghar says sternly, but not unkindly.

"But I..." She pauses, thinking, and realizes her mistake.

So Sarah tries again, repeating the word more clearly. But still a little off.

This time there is a spark. Nothing big, but it's there. It also may burn her fingers a bit.

Ghar patiently repeats the word for her after she's done reacting to the possible burning.

You'd be surprised, but Ghar is actually a patient teacher. He's had many apprentices in the past. None have really amounted to much. At least, not in his eyes.

The cyborg stays seated exactly where he is, nowhere near the MagSat room. Instead, he sends a silent request to Mainframe to have one of the drones hit the kitty from behind with a stun beam, to try to get him to "settle down a little".

A drone controlled by Mainframe attempts to do this.

"Now I get is where should I know you aren't allowed to touch magical thinks?"

He makes a reproachful face.

"Then it yould be a rare material. I heard of one that is like silk but fireproove in my homelands. Maybe it is one of this the cration is very expensive."

Friend makes an apologetic bow.

"Again, I apologise. I am unused to meeting many humans from outside the mortal realm of my world and assumed you had basic knowledge of the episteme of these workings."

Standing up again, Friend whirs his head for some reason, perhaps to rear of the former anger.

"It appears to be a complicated mechanism, an advanced crossbow so to speak, and not a rare cloth or metal.
But I thank you for attempting to be of aid none the less."

Cabin 10 - Elm

Reinholdt is in his room, in his cabin, curtains drawn. He's sitting on his bed, which is against the same wall as the window, but not visible through the window because he is indeed paranoid as was mentioned somewhere along the line. He's still fairly upset about recent events involving super-happiness, confessing, and his friends getting shot. There are no drones in his room at this time.

Reelshka is wandering around with her blueprints. She seems to be checking if her drawings and calculations are correct.

[Main Cabin]

Brinika is napping in an armchair.

Friend makes an apologetic bow.

"Again, I apologise. I am unused to meeting many humans from outside the mortal realm of my world and assumed you had basic knowledge of the episteme of these workings."

Standing up again, Friend whirs his head for some reason, perhaps to rear of the former anger.

"It appears to be a complicated mechanism, an advanced crossbow so to speak, and not a rare cloth or metal.
But I thank you for attempting to be of aid none the less."

((Wait no I'm confused why crossbow I really dont get it now.))

((It's technology, but the most advanced technology in Friend's universe that he think Andy have heard of is a crossbow so that's what he is comparing it to. It's like explaining cars with horse wagons. ))

"Crossbow? I think your knowledge of technilogie is not up to date. For example there are weapons that shoot metall many times faster then a crossbow and with better aiming. Seems like you missed a few hundret years of technologie."
Andy smiles no haha smile more a bit amused by the thought of a world this far back in technologie.

Din is busy making a flower bed outside he house, planting a variety of seeds , but leaving room for some reason.

"I am well aware of what a musket is, I merely assumed it more likely for you to know of a simpler weapon as I am unaware of the inventions done in the world from which you originate"

Friend makes no motion to indicate that he notices Andy's amusement at all.

"I think the world I'm from is on an average Level of technologie you can find in the nexus."

Friend tries to respond, but doesn't seem to be able to say anything.

"This world has Athenan temples sharing with Gothic catedrals and architecture I have naught seen in my millenia..."

He seems pretty flabbergasted that there is an "average" in the Nexus.

((I thought the average was medieval fantasy? Given the amount of adventurers, the taverns, the plot-wizards... ))

"Yeah thats here, too. But the nexus seems to be an collection of many technologie for example LANTERN space ship, Cloning like Magtok did (even if I never met him) and the weapons/armor they use here."

The nexus is as he said and he assume the technologie is average to his home world.
