That's what you get for not coming up with a plan before going into the arena...

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
Wow Tarquin... First the slave burning and now this... Then again I am not surprised at how you can do this
Edit: And I didn't mean that in a good way.Last edited by Burner28; 2011-03-23 at 08:42 AM.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
You're lucky you're just a stick figure in a webcomic, Tarquin. You're really lucky.
Forever in debt with smuchmuch for the cyberpunk avatar.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
And that is why the Order of the Stick is still one of the most enjoyable and finely crafted webcomic of the genre. Bravo Giant! How you convey such emotions with stick figures and a "silly" D&D plot is amazing.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
the blue dragon thing can stand the arrows, but the lizard will be killed, then the plan can work without scarring big blue emtionally. It's actually a small mercy, though not a great plan all in all. Tarkin is just really cold.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
That's quite tragic. But I still remain optimistic that they'll pull through, somehow.
Credits to half-halfling for my adorable avatar.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
You're implying alignment is hereditary, rather than based on upbringing and social situation.
I don't even know what to think.
Also Elan's mother is Chaotic Good, Tarquin's alignment, according to his first appearance, is Lawful Evil.
The child Tarquin raised (Nale) ended up similarly evil; the child Elan's mother raised (Elan) ended up similarly good.
So yeah.

That's really sad.
The half dragon crying is a nice touch, though.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
And AGAIN I'm struck by how the Giant manages to make my heart bleed for... for what? a couple of stick figures? There is some kind of sympathetic magic in these simple lines...

Wow... go Tarquin!
If at first you don't succeed, it is represented by a geometric random variable.

Oh, man. The way Rich can make us feel sympathy even for villains is just so, so very well done. Congrats !

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
Tragic. In a good way. Enor and Ganji, we hardly knew you .
Did someone call Tarquin a magnificent bastard? In this frame, he's just a bastard.
This wasn't funny. But it was GREAT storytelling by Rich Burlew. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Brian P.

Re: OOTS #783 - The Discussion Thread
The way people root for the most cruel, evil characters lowers my hope in humanity a bit more every day.
P.s.: There's a difference between loving the characterization of an evil character and actually rooting for one and applauding his actions. I'm of course talking about Tarquin here, Enor and Gannji are not very evil compared to him.Last edited by Kaiser Omnik; 2011-03-23 at 08:35 AM.
