"Thank you," Sunny says, putting an arm around Carl. Archer runs amok for a bit before stopping to mark his territory.

Carl snuggles up with her, watching their dog run around, but sighs when he gets to marking things. "I'll clean that up once we're done here."

Sunny giggles. "Watch." Once Archer leaves the spot, a machine the size of a grapefruit floats out of the wall and sprays the carpet and the bench support with a beam of radiation that breaks down the proteins within the urine into their component atoms.

Reinholdt is not scratch resistant.
And is extra-wary of fungus ever since that fungus zombie attacked and nearly turned him into one and he panicked and ran around screaming like a maniac.

Reinholdt frowns. Now, how do they get out?
He goes to check the column/pillar thing in the middle of the room more closely.

"I wouldn't touch that." Raril warns, his voice muffled by the mask he was presently wearing. "I really don't like the look of it."

Rein examines the pillar!

It's made of green soapstone. A very soft rock that's easy to carve. As can be seen in the exquisite designs adorning its surface. Too bad they're all hideous and repellent.

He'll notice two rather interesting aspects of the pillar. First there's a ring that appears to be able to rotate. Second, there are four skeletons that look like they might be buttons.

Or at least something that can push in.

Will he fiddle with one of the two?

He chuckles and kisses Sunny's cheek after the little robot goes away. "You always think of everything."

Reinholdt probably would have but then Raril specifically said not to. So he'll turn to look at Raril instead.
"It looks like a control mechanism."
He'll point out the potential buttons and rotating ring.

"Or it's a trick and doing anything with it will kill us all or drive us insane." He's seen it happen before! Of course, then it was levers. Still, it was in the same place they'd encountered that horror. In the drow's mind the two were related. "There has to be another way." Raril starts to search the rest of the room, walls and floor and low cieling, looking for another way, some hidden mechanism. The room was awful low, wasn't it? "For all we know, messing with that thing will make this room even smaller and crush us."

Magtok won't like what happens next.

A flash of light...

And the birds get teleported away. I imagine the laser goose must feel pretty silly, its path now set to end with impact against either a wall or the floor.

Aaand now the loudspeakers kick in. "Really Magtok, this is most juvenile of you. This hangar is of no importance. Why waste so much time attacking it?"

The drones make their way to the hole and begin work on fixing it. They're still holding onto the roof with nothing but their hands and feet.

Magtok frowns. The goose sweeps its wings and promptly heads for the hole in the ceiling, not wanting to stick around this crazy cyborg any longer.

I said I was going to make you regret if you decided to continue being an idiot. Your response was to explode. This place is a bit of a dump, but I wouldn't be very thorough if I knowingly let a place like this sit, would I?

Magtok smirks, looking through his robes for something sufficiently explosive enough to deal with the hangar.

On another note, doesn't it bother you just a little bit that I was able to find out about this place so fast? That I found out about your earlier attacks as quickly as I did? You want to know my secret, don't you? Go ahead, Affy. Go ahead and ask.

Reinholdt nods. What Raril was saying was very true.
So for now, he'll assist Raril in meticulously searching the area, avoiding that skeleton trap.

It's been noticed that the alien plant matter seems to like darker, shaded areas over those that often receive sunlight.

Some areas such as the overgrown area in the Yellow Zone are especially hard hit...but someone happened to have an idea.

Up in the sky a large portal appears, cast by one of the city's two main defense systems. In the day, it's pretty much guaranteed that the sun will shine through it...

And over the overgrown areas, portals linked to that one appear, the sunlight shining through them. This little trick is also intended to be used to keep any further growth under control.

Any time someone gets close to that skeleton trap the bony fingers will peek ever so slightly out of the ground in anticipation of snagging something. The mindless undead contraption was probably given a simple command like 'grab anything alive that walks past.'

Though...

One must wonder why.

What purpose would a trap that can hold someone in place for a few moments possibly serve?

Seems kind of strange.

There aren't any hidden mechanisms. None that can been seen at least. Though if the three empty shelves are examined it might be noted that they're a good four feet deeper than the others. All lined up on the same wall, too.

Dorotha is still in her lab, having had several bags of clay brought there earlier, along with some metal rods.

Crissy, meanwhile, peeks into Dorotha's lab curiously!

Reinholdt was considering the same thing, so it can't be all that stupid.
Still potentially dangerous though.
"Secret compartment in the back? Maybe all three need to be weighed down?" Reinholdt asks, just throwing ideas out, but for now watching Raril.

Though...

Now that Raril is back there me might notice that there's actually a small gap between the edge of the shelf and the wall. Not nearly enough for a person to fit through, though...

Hmmm...

Zee is now teasing the skeletal hands in the floor.

She seems to find it amusing.

"There's a gap back here." Raril reports. "It's too small for me to fit through, though."

"Ok." Reinholdt says. Before shifting into a cat. It just sounds like it hurts every time he does that. He hammerspaces his rifle so it won't get in the way.

Reinholdt will then leap up,crawling over Raril to head towards the gap. There's not many gaps small kitties can't get into.

"Whoah! Hey be careful!" Raril squirms and protests as Reinholdt crawls into the niche with him. "Watch your claws please!"

"If I was to continue being an idiot..." Affidavit chuckles quietly, "Really Magtok, is that what's caused this petty crusade? Oh no! Affidavit is being an idiot! We must stop him! No, no, you're only here because you think I'm a threat to...something. I would say yourself, since I distinctly remember, once upon a time, that you were an actual villain, and did actual villainous stuff. But not any more. So my conclusion would be that you're here because you see me as a threat to others, and you are the noble little paladin, here to end my wicked ways."

Kind of sounds like Affidavit is finding this quite amusing.

"I can think of several methods of locating this hangar that would've led to such a speedy arrival, but clearly you believe you have some sort of ace up your sleeve that I cannot beat. So yes, if you must, by all means go ahead and tell me." He doesn't sound particularly concerned...

But there was a noticeable change in his voice. Whatever it is, he doesn't consider it a threat, but he's definitely interested.

Well fudge.

Not only does the overdoes of light slow the growth of the plants to that of normal plants, but it dries up much of the moisture, stunting the growth of the fauna forming from the seed pods. Most of the egg/seeds that were just on the edges of their tiny jungles wither and die.

Way to go and murder more babies, guys.

"Sorry." Reinholdt says softly to Raril in a whisper. I'm sure he means it. And he goes a bit more slowly without claws. Time to investigate that gap more thoroughly!

The passage turns sharply several times. Din's guide turns the third corner. By the time Din turns it, their is no sign of the woman.

Din looks around, and seeing the woman is truly gone, will continue

Lauretta finally undeadtimes, having spent the time since her resurrection recopying her prayer book, since her first one was ruined by seawater. Now that it's finished, except for the binding, she goes to see Terrowin.

As Din presses onward the animals' conditions worsen more and more. Rivers of blood flow from open wounds. Large sores cover their bodies. Some are little more than masses of tumors and cysts.

Their eyes are pleading. Begging for their suffering to end. Their pained cries echo in the corridor, like the wails of the damned. Crying out for Din to help them, to save them, to end their pain.

If it is even possible, it gets worse and worse. Horror beyond imagination greet Din's senses.

New Temple of Dalachrech- Terrowin's Office

Presumably Lauretta also spent some time learning the new layout; the building was built by different people and designed by a different architect to the last one. But Lauretta will be able to find Terrowin's office, and some things haven't changed. Namely, it's the same large desk, with the same murals of the Great Mound (not sure if I already had a name for it, but if so it has a new one) and the Sea of Beetles next to it. The chairs are more comfortable, though. "Hello Lauretta. It is good to see you; what would you like to see me about?" Terrowin is obviously pleased, and less obviously means it, stupid minor paranoia.

"I have completed my prayer book, Most High Reverend," Lauretta says. She probably exclusively speaks in Abyssal to the other priests, unless there's a reason not to, but I probably won't bother noting it in the narrative text every time.

New Temple of Dalachrech- Terrowin's Office

"That is excellent news. I shall tell everybody that your ritual of Initiation will be carried out tonight." Terrowin smiles broadly. It also doesn't matter too much which language she uses; Abyssal is useful as a secret language when surrounded by enemies and it is always used during prayer and spell-casting, but most of the other Clerics tend to speak using Nexusian as it's their native tongue and more comfortable. Well, except Defelent, but it's his native tongue next to Nexusian. "I am really glad to hear that. How are you settling in to the new Temple?"
