[Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXII

[Reinholdt]

"Oh hey. That worksh. And we can do it caush we're sho dependables!"

[Morty]

Dorotha peers at Reinholdt. Just sober up a bit first, will you? It'll likely be dangerous.

[Reinholdt]

"Right right. Firsht thing tomorrow then. Hmmms... Besht right it down."
Reinholdt pulls a pen and paper out of his hammerspace.

[Morty]

Alright then. What I'm looking for is a type of ore. It has magical properties and is very rare. It only occurs in a certain type of rock in areas with potent magical background... I won't bore you with the details. I've heard there's a vein of this ore somewhere in the Nexus, but as usual, the arena in which it's located is dangerous.

[Reinholdt]

"Ore... strong magicks... arena... ks. Where ish it and whats itsh appearance?" I presume he means what does it look like.
Reinholdt writes stuff down.

[Morty]

It's in a cave in a deep forest. Dorotha hands Reinholdt a small map. The ore is red with blue veins and glows slightly. It's very hard to miss.

[Reinholdt]

"Oh hey! A map. Now we really are treashure hunting! Teehee!" Reinholdt grins and pockets the map, taking note of the ore's red and blue pokemon like qualities.

"Anything elshe to know?"

[Morty]

Well... there are likely to be monsters there. But that's to be expected.

[Reinholdt]

"Any particularr sort?" It helps with the drunken planning!
Which might consist of buy grenades.

"Alsho, how much of thish ore you want?" That matters too!

[Morty]

The sort that's attracted to strongly magical surroundings. So unnatural ones such as chimeras, undead and such. As for the amount, a nugged the size of a man's fist will suffice.

[Reinholdt]

"Okie-dokie!" Reinholdt says, getting it all down.
And then deadtiming.

[UncleWolf]

Milos' current choice appears to be a Wizard Blizzard with a jolt of something electric in it.
Tennel looks intrigued at the choice and sips at something that looks more similar to a Rail Mixer, nudging the other few towards the center of them.
Easy reach as needed.

She peers back at her now-glowing weapon and her smile quirks towards amused at his not-entirely-subtle suggestion of murder.
"No dice today, I'm off duty. More in the mood for some drinking and entertainment.
You look like you could do with a bit of both yourself. Or maybe a bucket of ice."
Always a way to jolt someone up a bit.

He snorts. "Just ice? It'd take a bit more than that. Entertainment would be welcome though. What do you have in mind?"

[Chaotic Bob]

There is an immediate and almost irresistible temptation to somehow acquire a bucket of ice and dump it on Milos head, after he laughs.
But it was a joke (...sort of...) so Tennel resists the urge.

"Don't knock the ice. That stuff works wonders.
Barring a lap-dance, I'm feeling pretty open. Though if you were feeling a little more placid, we could just default to a drinking game."
Heavens knows she's going to get involved in at least a few by the time she's done here.

Milos can't help but chuckle a bit. "What? You don't want one from me? I'm surprised." It's hard to tell if he's being serious or just joking. "Anything specific?" He asks as he knocks back another drink.

[Earl of Purple]

What's that? A ring?

Garth spots it after a small time sitting and observing the tavern grumpily. He straightens up in his seat. It doesn't look like there was anyone about who it belongs to...

It looks like it might be of some value.

Placing his helmet and ale to one side, he slips out of his seat, and goes to investigate the piece of jewelry a bit closer.

The ring is made of silver; the fact it glows when Milos enters proves that if Garth is aware of Milos's effect. There's about five wires looped around each other although the ends of the wires are apparantly missing.

"I guesh we gotsh'ome treashure ta find after all."

Well Reinholdt said they wouldn't go until they had.
Probably to Ermine's chagrin.
"WHOOO! TREASHURE!"

Good luck. Feeling somewhat doubtful about the whole enterprise, Dorotha returns to her table, giving Milos a small wave on her way.

[Chaotic Bob]

Tennel gives a little wink before pulling a couple decks of cards from somewhere...inside her shirt? Maybe it was an air pocket. Or a real pocket.
"Maybe some other night, sweetheart.
For now, let's get a few more people over here and see how your luck is feeling with the beer..."

Which is subsequently followed by a call of free beer to the first four people to the table.
Easiest way to set up a drinking game in a tavern.

Well Reinholdt said they wouldn't go until they had.
Probably to Ermine's chagrin.
"WHOOO! TREASHURE!"

"Aye! Dish ish gonna be fun!'

Ermine continues to grin. Her rum seems to have run out again.

"When are we gonna go get it, den?"

Milos smirks and goes ahead and removes his cloak, showing that he's shirtless, and rather well fit, before setting it on the back of the chair and setting his drink on the table. "What game?"

[Chaotic Bob]

For the sake of public decency, Tennel is unable to match Milos' maneuver.
Instead she just gives a low whistle while she distributes a few drinks she just recently lifted from Cosmo around the table.
"Someone thinks they're hot stuff, don't they?
Let's see...I can't remember what this thing is called, so we'll just call it 31. Nice and easy. Just try to get as close to 31 drawing cards as you can. Once you think you're the closest, give a little knock and everyone draws one more card.
Lowest hand gets a drink. Or if you got 31 on the nose, everyone gets a drink.
That drink has to be done by the next time you lose, or you get another drink on top of what you'd normally get.
If you gave the little knock and lost, you also get another bonus drink.

We're gonna make Cosmo rich tonight."
Poor NPCs playing with them.

Two humans, a half-orc, and a...no wait. There's a dwarf. They might have actual competition.

[UncleWolf]

Milos smirks at her and sets a bag of gold on the table for drinks. "I know I am." He says before knocking back another pre-game warm up. "Comes from once being with a succubus. Now, go ahead and deal so I can see you get plastered."

[Reinholdt]

"Aye! Dish ish gonna be fun!'

Ermine continues to grin. Her rum seems to have run out again.

"When are we gonna go get it, den?"

"Tomorrow after the hangoversh."

[VampireRot]

"Oh. Roight."

Ermine frowns, then smirks.

"Wha' do ye want ta do until den?"

It sounds like she might have an idea or two...

[Chaotic Bob]

"Hey, at least you were with the fun kind of demon."
Other ones were a little too...murder-happy.
"Got a suspicion on you getting fairly plastered, myself."

And with that, cards are dealt, and to the mirth of the company the game is begun.
As is often the case, the game progresses fairly normally for a few rounds, with distributed beers to the losers being downed easily enough.
Interestingly, the dwarf fails to lose at all, for the beginning.

Right around when the half-orc gets to distracted trying to count his cards to remember to finish his drink, he fails again and is handed another.
But Tennel, being the fun-seeker she is, has upgraded their current assortment of booze to something stronger.
"Li'l upgrade every time a penalty is handed out, I think..."

Right around the second upgrade, the dwarf finally starts losing a bit, either from slightly...less-sober miscountings or being his luck starts failing.
Or he's deliberately losing more now to get at the better alcohol.

For whatever reason, the half-orc ends up collapsing first, ending up with more penalty beers than anyone else, next to the taller of the two humans.
The tipping point was definitely when he made a grab at a passing Nina and she gave him a whack in the head for his trouble. Unconsciousness came rather happily with that.

After a point, one of the humans begins to slump a bit and his friend decides that that would be a good time to start dragging him off, but forgets about that and resumes playing.

Several moments later, for varying degrees of complete drunkenness, inability to handle cards, or alternative ideas for entertainment, the game comes to a close.

The dwarf walks away with just a little bit of wobble to his step, probably to go find another drinking game or perhaps to take a nap, having claimed victory here in this match.
Tennel has decided through some perplexing process in her head that is accompanied by a few amused snickers, that "maybe tha' dance is a good idea..."
To which a grab or two of will be made at Milos, while she ponders a way to get up those stairs way over there to the second floor.

They're so...wiggly...

Journey's half the fun, some say.
But when you're plastered, with an already half-naked, trained-by-succubi, this night will probably have a far more fun destination.

[Reinholdt]

"Oh. Roight."

Ermine frowns, then smirks.

"Wha' do ye want ta do until den?"

It sounds like she might have an idea or two...

"I dunnos. Look like we misshed the drinking gamesh." Which is ok, since they've really honestly had enough.

[Chaotic Bob]

Oh silly cat.
Tennel bought alcohol for everyone.
For the night.

Where did she get that kind of money?
Or the insane idea to do that?
That's a question better left unasked.

If they wanted drinking games or more alcohol, they have more than enough opportunities. >.>

"I don't fink we could drink anymore."

Even Ermine admits defeat!

"Ye wanna get a room fer da night r' shometin'?"

[Reinholdt]

Oh my. Reinholdt is shocked and a bit terrified. Not only is Ermine turning down more rum, she's turning down FREE RUM.
