    Default (3.X Base Class) The Ki Master, a Warrior Monk class (peach)

    This is basically a revamped version of the Sohei out of Oriental Adventures. Fluff will come later. I'll hopefully be playing one of these in the near future, and would like thoughts on balance, tier, and just thoughts/ideas in general. (I'm shooting for it to be on par with the ToB classes without giving them manuevers)

    The Ki Master:

    Abilities: Wisdom is important for a couple of the Ki Masterís call features, and Constitution is what determines how long Ki Frenzy lasts. Lastly, Strength or Dexterity are important depending on your build.

    Class Skills: Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Knowledge: Religion (Int), Knowledge: Nature (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), and Tumble (Dex).
    Skill Points at 1st Level: (4+ Int Mod) x 4
    Skill Points at each additional level: 4+ Int Mod

    Class Features:
    Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A Ki Master is proficient with all simple weapons and the: Falchion, Glaive, Kama, Kukri, Longsword, Nunchaku, all Longbow types, Sai, Sianham, Scimitar, Sycthe, Katana (Bastard Sword, as a 2h martial weapon), and the Two-bladed Sword. A Ki Master is also proficient with light armor, but not shields.

    Ki Frenzy(Ex): Starting at first level, a Ki Master gains the ability to focus her Ki energy into a surge of power. In this state, she gains +2 Strength and +2 Dex. Her base land speed also increases by +10ft, and can choose to use a flurry of blows attack in melee, granting her an extra attack at a -2 penelty to hit on every attack in that round.
    A Ki Frenzy lasts for a number of rounds equal to the Ki Masterís Constitution modifier. A Ki Master may end her frenzy prematurely. After the frenzy ends the Ki Master is fatigued, and can only enter a frenzy once per encounter, and only a certain number of times per day (as shown on the table above). Entering a Ki Frenzy is a free action, but can only be done on the Ki Masterís turn.

    Unarmed Strike: At first level, a Ki Master gains the Improved Unarmed Strike feat even though she may not meet the requirements.

    Evasion(Ex): At second level, a Ki Master can avoid even magical or unusual attacks with great agility. If she makes a successful Reflex save again an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. A Ki Master can only use Evasion while wearing light or no armor. A helpless Ki Master (such as one who is unconscious or paralyzed) does not gain the benefit of Evasion.

    Stunning Strike: At third level, a Ki Master gains the Stunning Fist feat as a bonus feat, with one exception. She may use the feat with any weapon she is proficient with. Treat a Ki Master as a monk for the purposes of this feat.

    Ki Strike(Su): At fourth level, a Ki Master can infuse any weapon she is proficient with, with her Ki energy. Her attacks are treated as magic for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.
    At tenth level, her Ki Strike improves. Her attacks are also considered Lawful for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.
    At 16th level, her Ki Strike improves even further, and her attacks are considered adamantine for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.

    Ki Blast: At 6th level, a Ki Master gains Ki Blast as a bonus feat even though she may not meet the prerequisites. (See Playerís Handbook 2 for feat description)
    Damage Reduction(Ex):At 7th level, a Ki Masters ki energy is growing ever stronger, even protecting her. She gains damage reduction 1/-. The damage reduction improves as a Ki Master levels.

    Ki Channel: At 8th level, a Ki Master can channel her ki energy to heal minor wounds of herself or other. She may heal a number of hitpoints equal to twice her Ki Master level + her Wisdom modifier per day. This may be spread out over several uses. For example, a 10th level Ki Master with a +2 Wis modifier can heal 24 points of damage (class level +wis mod x 2).

    Improved Evasion(Ex):At 9th level, a Ki Master gains Improved Evasion. This is like Evasion except now she takes no damage on a successful reflex save, and only half damage on a failed save.

    Mettle(Su): At 10th level, due to her training, a Ki Master can shrug off magical effects that would otherwise harm her. If she makes a successful Will or Fortitude save that would reduce the effect, she instead suffers no effect from the spell at all. Only those spells with a Saving Throw entry of ĎWill partialí or ĎFortitude halfí or similar entries can be negated by this ability.

    Unbound Ki(Ex):At 11th level, a Ki Masters Ki Frenzy ability becomes more powerful as her ki strengthens. She now gains +4 Strength and +4 Dex (instead of the +2) during her Ki Frenzy.

    Ki Step(Su): At 12th level a Ki Master gains the ability to move to an opponent and strike with unnatural quickness. By expending one of her Stunning Fist uses, she may move her full speed, and make a single attack against a foe as a standard action. She must have line of sight, and line of effect for this ability to work.

    Eternal Ki(Ex): At 17th level, the ki energy within a Ki Master is so strong, that age no longer affects her. She no longer takes penalties to her stats from aging, and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties already suffered before attaining this ability still apply, and a Ki Master still dies when her time is up.

    Unleashed Ki(Ex): At 20th level, the ki energies within a Ki Master have reached its fullest potential. She now gains +6 Strength and +6 Dex (instead of the +4) and is now no longer fatigued after her Ki Frenzy ends.

    A Ki Master can take the Extra Rage feat to gain extra uses of her Ki Frenzy ability.
