Default TheRinni's Avatars (Ask for Adoption)

Hello, playground! Recently I've decided to try my hand at creating avatars. I absolutely love the simple, cute style of these stick figures.

    Here's my first attempt:

I really, really wanted a Serenity avatar, as my latest D&D character is styled after her appearance.

    Here's my second attempt:

Lil' Fiddler/Bard girl. I kinda wanted her to have wings, because she gave me a very fey vibe.

    3rd time's a charm - well, maybe not:

Any advice would be appreciated, and I'm completely open to suggestions/requests.

Hm... the first one has a bit too much contrast between the thick/black arms/frills and the rest of her soft-lined body. More balance is necessary there.

The second one is pretty solid.

The second one is beautiful, line thickness is consistent, and the color choices are well done. With the first making the arms a bit thinner would improve the contrast, also the head has two different line widths used for the side of the face and the chin. It throws off the eye when looking at the avatar.
Much better than I can do at the moment though, I am working to bring up my skills again but art is hard. You might consider to make entries in the "Iron Avatar" contests each month for practice. I have promised myself that I will try to make at least one entry each month untill I get my skills up to where I am satisfied with them.

    Typical of a non-spellcaster to think so linearly............But it's a line.

That sounds like so much fun! Thank you for the advice. I noticed the different line widths too (a mistake made when I put the color layer for her neck above the outline layer for her head). Sadly, I forgot to save the file as something other than a .png, so all I have is the compressed image. *Sigh,* I'll probably just go back to the drawing board with that one.

Sounds like an excellent plan! I'll join you in this Quest Chain; it seems to be worth the experience points. ;P

Can you make me an avatar based on this picture?
