Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: Swordmasters are proficient with all simple weapons, and all martial swords. They are also proficient with light and medium armor, and shields, but not tower shields. Additionally, Swordmasters only suffer a -2 nonproficiency penalty when wielding an exotic sword they aren't proficient with.

Passion for the Art: There are many advantages from swordcrafting that benefit a Swordmaster, discipline, endurance, and patience, to name a few, but above all is the knowledge of the weapon they glean. Translating their passion for the art into the work, Swordmasters can create weapons unlike any other, they gain a bonus to any crafting or appraise checks related to swords equal to their class level. Additionally, due to intimate knowledge of the blade, a Swordmaster gains a bonus to attack and damage equal to 1/2 their class level, rounded up, with any sword he personally crafted. Finally, a Swordmaster gains a +1 bonus to their BAB with swords at level 1. At level 5, and every fifth level thereafter, this bonus increases by 1.

Way of the Blade: Swordmasters know that the sword is more than simply a tool, it is an extension of the body, and they know that the art of swordplay is just that, an art. Because of this understanding, Swordmasters have unparalleled skill with swords of all kinds. When wielding a sword, a Swordmaster gains a dodge bonus to AC equal their Int modifier, this bonus is lost whenever the Swordmaster loses their Dex bonus to AC.
