Yeah, Moby Dick. But you can just change part of the text black to write it out.
EDIT: I just realized August already did that. Talk about oblivious.Last edited by MoonCat; 2011-08-28 at 02:44 PM.

Re: Heliomance's Blasphemously, Stupendously Unalliterative Random Banter #167
Yay! Now I can listen to this awesome cover of Don't Stop Believing without it sounding like "Don't ... st...op ... be...l...iev...ing! ..."
And is there any particular reason why you're impersonating August?
Yeah. Especially considering I'm supposed to get my school supply list from my teachers at the open house on Tuesday Well, since it's AP Computer Science I doubt there would be much of a supply list anyways.

Re: Heliomance's Blasphemously, Stupendously Unalliterative Random Banter #167
Well, if you look closer at the 'I'...
You'll notice that it isn't a normal 'I', but rather an 'Ï', which probably made the application of the [noparse] tags in the middle of it redundant anyway...
ION:
Because of that link two days back and a pressing lack of inclination to do anything at all, I've spent yesterday and today reading Dominic Deegan from the start all up to the most recent comic. It took me up to it's Ninth Year Mark to notice that it started the same day as I turned 10.Last edited by Teddy; 2011-08-28 at 03:26 PM.

Oh wow. Impressive. I still haven't bothered reading through it for...obvious reasons.
Kinda freaky it started the same day you turned ten though. It's like some sort of warped birthday present.

Re: Heliomance's Blasphemously, Stupendously Unalliterative Random Banter #167
As I said, I've pretty much not done anything except for sitting by this computer for two days in a row, and this forum has been progressing slowly (I swear, there must be some corelation to my resumed appearance ), Homestuck won't update for several weeks and Facebook just isn't interesting.
Also, obvious?

Re: Heliomance's Blasphemously, Stupendously Unalliterative Random Banter #167
If I spend too much time concentrating on the same thing, it's going to get stuck on my retina and I'll see it every time I close my eye. I've only experienced it with blueberries before, but it seems to apply to DD characters as well. Mind you, I can't remember any specific instances from which the pictures would appear, making me believe that my mind is only using the same characters and art style to make up my own creations. It's fascinating in several ways.
Well, that depends on what standards you hold it against. I'm not the most picky guy, but I've enjoyed it...
However, it is suffering from what I've recently named the Bamse Syndrome (from the Swedish comic), namely that basically every bad guy just has had a troubled childhood/has been ostracised by society/etc (which I'm fine with, because black and white morality gets boring in the end) and that they all somehow must get some sort of redemption from the good guys, who in turn aren't allowed to kill anyone. Basically, it's a world of grey and white morality, which gets a bit riddiculous as it goes on...Last edited by Teddy; 2011-08-28 at 03:59 PM.

I have these little plastic things with water inside them that you freeze. You put them in drinks like ice cubes but they won't melt and water your drink down. They are shaped like seashells and palm trees.

Re: Heliomance's Blasphemously, Stupendously Unalliterative Random Banter #167
That's not the problem (in case I've interpretted that term right without paying a visit to TvTropes). I can tolerate that villians have a reason to being bad. However, when every villian encountered somehow must be saved and redeemed, it gets both absurd and repetive. Especially when it's applied to recurring villians (and this is where the Bamse Syndrome really kicks in), it's hard to continue motivating their continued villiany, which means that they can't get killed in the end, because by that point they must have learned their lesson and turn from evil.
Also, now that I'm at it, I might as well define what causes and what the consequences of the Bamse Syndrome are (I wonder if something similar can be found on TvTropes...):
Causes:- Wholly good main characters who believe that death isn't a solution.
- Villians with a reason to why they became evil.
- The need to show that even an evil person can be redeemed.
- A wish to do a world that isn't just absolute good and evil.
Consequences:- The main characters can't kill even the most depraved of archnemeses, because they can be redeemed, and will be so...
- ...Unless they stubbornly refuse to change and become recurring characters. However, because it isn't motivated for a main character to continue to give the same enemy yet another chance if said enemy doesn't learn something from it, any recurring villian will have its motives become more and more strained to the point where it must convert to the good cause. Expect it to be stupidly stubborn in holding its own evil views before that happens, though.
- The amount of characters is going to grow as well, as every new villian must find a place in society and preferable a romance as well.
- The only way for the bad guys to get killed is if they're killed by another bad guy (or just a well-meaning extremist).
- A world with absolute good and only misguided evil. Also, expect it to be tolerant on a level with some of the most equal contries of today.
