"Hmm... well I'll make you something warm to eat in a bit, just in case. One of my... friends wanted to talk to you when you woke up. Feel up to it?"

"It's okay Tom. Must just be brief memories from a recent self, you don't need to worry about me." Dawn assures him. "I'm afraid a lot of Deva's become priests or healers however, it's in our nature to help people."

[Gray Zone - Streets]

Avastol thinks for a moment, "Do you recall if you looked the way you do now?"

[Shadowcaller]

She shakes her head, "I don't even know how I look right now besides what I can see without a mirror. I might as well have been male in my previous life, nothing is guaranteed. I'm sorry I can give you so little leads but once I recollected more memories I'm sure I can give you a better description."

[Gullara]

"Oh? I guess I wouldn't mind talking to your friend." Arel is only really curious. Who is this friend and what could they want with her?

[Reinholdt]

[Bast's Animal Shelter]

"Ok. Let me know if she bugs you or anything."

Reinholdt says before stepping back out and going to find Chione.
"Hey. She's awake and ready to talk to you."

"Excellent."

Chione nods and then stalks silently into the room. She looks at Arel closely before meowing in the human's language,

"What are you called, then? And what exactly are you here for?"

Truth

The arsonist will find it hard to move, and his flamethrower extinguished as a pair of the fire fighters, pistols raised, approach. "Identify yourself!" One shouts.

Inside, the fire begins to obviously die down as the Remnants work, and the bodies are discovered. The finder growls at the sight, understanding what it means, and radios it in to the others.

"Not a zombie, clearly. What the **** more do you want?"

...Wait.

They're asking for I.D. Where the hell is he? This isn't a hallucination, he didn't just imagine that all of those zombies suddenly turned into a family, and that the warehouse didn't just turn into a perfectly ordinary house, either. So what the **** happened? What in the goddamn **** is going on, and why?

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt heads off to get something warm to eat and bring back to Arel. It'll be a little while.

[Gullara]

Arel's head swivels toward Chione when she speaks. "I'm Arel, and Reinholdt brought me here when he found me." She shivers and shifts closer to the radiator.

Chione rolls her eyes. Then realizes the angel is blind, so she snorts instead.

"I know he did that. I wanted to know why you're down here in the Nexus, in the mortal world. Most angels stay in fluffy cloud land... unless they've fallen."

The cat is a bit annoyed that she can't even give Arel any sly looks or smug feline expressions.

[Halae]

"Take your time," Tom says, "The demons and I aren't going anywhere, so there's certainly no rush." They'll be arriving at Tom's house after your next post.

[Gullara]

[Bast's Animal Shelter]

"I... have. Fallen." Arel says somberly. She fiddles with the edge of her blanket nervously. There is none of the kindness NHR showed her in Chione's voice.

[VampireRot]

[Bast's Animal Shelter]

"Oh? Have you now?"

Chione pads closer to Arel and lets the angel know that she's there with a touch of her whiskers.

"What for?"

The cat is curious! She wants to know if the fallen angel could factor into any plots. Possibly schemes. Maybe even a plan.

[Gullara]

Arel flinches away from Chione. "I- I 'm not comfortable discussing it. I'm sorry." This feels more like an interrogation than anything. It doesn't make her comfortable.

[VampireRot]

[Bast's Animal Shelter]

"Aww, don't be like that."

Chione's voice suddenly becomes much more cute and appealing, with even a bit of manipulative magic in it. The cat purrs in amusement and attempts to gently butt her head against the angel as cats tend to do.

"I'm a cat! I'm just curious, that's all. At least you're not as bad as Lucy, right?"

"Lucifer was complicated..." Arel frowns. "I fell for my pride. I judged mortals unfairly and saw them as lesser beings. My punishment is less than I deserve."

[VampireRot]

[Bast's Animal Shelter]

"That sounds unfair."

Now there is definitely some magic in Chione's soothing purr, to try to make the listener agree with her more.

"I mean, mortals technically are lesser beings, right? It's why they're the mortals."

Mortals obviously refers to humans and stuff, not cats. Cats are the highest beings you can get. *sagenod*

Arel opens her mouth to speak, but hesitates a moment. "No." She shakes her head vigorously. "God created man in his own image. He loves each and every one like his own child. Who am I to question that?"

[VampireRot]

"Well, no reason to question that. Mortals are pretty important"

Chione, being the spawn of an Old One, doesn't believe in a creator diety at all. But theological disputes are bad for manipulation.

"Important, but not as important as the celestial beings like you that watch over them. There's no shame in looking down on the people you are literally looking down on. It's like a hierarchy."

With cats on top, of course.

"I will, there is so much to learn about this world after all, so much to experience, so many people to help." Dawn comments as they walk along.

"There is though. That is why I am here now. That is why I was cast down." Arel says sadly. "God would not have punished me if it was not just."

[Halae]

And so, they arrive at an average sized house in a suburban area of Gray Zone. Tom will descend from Avastol, and the big demon will off to lower Dawn to the ground. the house isn't big, but it isn't small either. On the inside, it could certainly stand to be cleaned a bit, with a few empty dishes and boxes laying around the place, as well as some dirt on the floor everywhere, but beyond this it's a fairly normal place. It appears Tom is your average, messy bachelor.

"Hm."

Chione eyes Arel thoughtfully. Shaking the conviction of an angel in her god isn't an option for the sphinx, at least not in one go. She's going to have to approach this from a different angle.

"Perhaps you're right, or perhaps it is a test. It doesn't really matter, I was just curious. You're welcome to stay here with the radiator as long as you like. Reinholdt can care for you. You need time to get used to this, after all."

[Gullara]

"Thank you." Arel says with real gratitude. She's not sure what was putting her off about the cat before. She seemed nice enough. "Before you go. What is your name?"

Chione dips her head, which is of course a useless gesture.

"I am called Chione."

If that's all, the cat will leave the room and gesture to Reinholdt that she's done talking to the angel. If he's there.

[Reinholdt]

[Bast's Animal Shelter]

Reinholdt is just returning with a bowl of very hot soup.
He nods to Chione and heads inside.
"Hey Arel. Got you something to eat. It's very hot though." Reinholdt figures she might like it that way though. He offers her the soup carefully.

Arel smiles at Rein brilliantly when he speaks up. She takes the soup just as carefully. It'll be slow going eating it without being able to see. "Hello Reinholdt. Thank you." She takes a spoonful. "Mmm, this is good. Nice and warm." She takes another, less tentative mouthful... And burns her tongue. "Ow!" She drops her spoon. That was surprising.

[Reinholdt]

"Ah. So you can burn your tongue. Best to learn now. Try to eat a little more slowly silly."
Reinholdt will retrieve the spoon for her and...
"Well this spoon's dirty. Just a second. Blow on it if it's too hot." Reinholdt goes to retrieve another spoon and return with it.

Another spoon! Arel thanks him and continues eating, albeit more slowly. "Tell me about yourself. I feel like we've only talked about myself since we met."

As a note, she's still very disheveled. Her hair is a mess, and her rags are wrinkled on top of being burned and full of holes.

Truth

Captain Jefferies growls at the man, pulling a pair of cuffs from a compartment in her armor. "You are under arrest for the murder of four civilians, in the first degree. You have the right to remai...**** that. You have the right to shut the **** up. You have the right to an attourney, and anything you say is going to be twisted and used against you in the court of law. I don't care if you understand your rights or not, you're coming with us." If he doesn't fight, he's going to have the cuffs slapped on him after they dig him out of the foam a bit.

Drug Store => Streets

Nobody will stop the invesitgators. there's nothing much down the turn that the cat thieves went down - it's a mostly unremarkable street. It's probably that someone saw something about them, though. After all, most don't forget it when a tiger and six people dressed all in black run down the street. This looks like a suburban area from around 2011 Earth, so you know what you're looking at

Streets

The lead Investigator will have her team disperse into twos and threes, where they'll begin questioning people on the street about the cats, seeing if they've been around before and if so, where.

Masks Temple

Jack nods, seeming rather sympathetic in stance and expression. Well, what expression is visible. "The Imperials haven't chased you this far, have they? Sounds like quite a bit of trouble."

"There are rumors of a few around here, but not many. We don't think any of them know of our presence, and even if they did, there's not much they can do as we aren't breaking the laws of this dimension." Aluskal says.
