Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
Superior Reality Bending
With the powers of cheapness, you have managed to achieve ultimate power before your true potential was unlocked. Therefore, you get to use your true potential to enhance your ultimate power.
Prerequisites: Ability to cast 9th level spells
Benefit: By using your ingenious powers, you have mastered magic before receiving the mighty boon that most casters get at 17th/18th level that grants them the power to master magic in the first place. So instead, you use that growth for something much deadlier.
Starting at 17th level, you cast all 9th level spells with a +2 bonus to their DC and a +2 to your caster level. (This bonus stacks with Spell Focus and other similar effects). Additionally, you may cast 9th level spells using your 8th level spell slots in addition to your 9th level spell slots.
Special: This feat must be taken at 16 HD or lower.Last edited by NeoSeraphi; 2011-09-22 at 03:57 PM.

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
Power-gaming is its own reward; powergamers don't need to be made more powerful.

For the feat name to be true, limit it to divine spells only.

Sanctum Earth Spell from a killer gnome could hit 9th level and duplicate miracles at...level 13, I think?

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
Pretty much any creature/template that gives more casting levels than it gives RHD should do the trick. Especially templates that add casting levels. White dragonspawn would do the trick, as if sorcerers weren't already gimped enough for the purposes of the feat (requiring CL 2 levels above HD instead of just one), so I suppose you'd have to go for white dragonspawn rite of passage kobold.

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
Y'know, due to the way prerequisites work with feats, once you'd gain the benefit of the feat you'd no longer be able to use the benefit, since you wouldn't have less than 17 HD anymore.
(Exception being a character with less than 17 HD whose ECL is 17 or higher perhaps.)Homebrewer's Signature | Avatar by Strawberries

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
Er...Even if you Heighten it, you won't be able to cast it as a 9th level spell unless you're using a 9th level spell slot. Which requires...being able to cast 9th level spells.
The way Heighten works it says "The spell is cast with all calculations based on its new effective spell slot". So if you reduce Heighten, its own text prevents it from working like that. If I Heighten an 8th level spell to a 9th level spell, but reduce it with a metamagic reducer to an 8th level spell slot, as the text of Heighten Spell reads, it works like an 8th level spell.

Make it so you can't have a familiar or be a specialist or focused specialist wizard.
Truly, this would be a feat that sacrifices power for flavor.Avatar of George the Dragon Slayer, from the upcoming Indivisible!

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
Personally, I would use Candle Keep Scholar out of the Greyhawk Setting books. It allows you to reduce the spell level adjustment for Metamagic feats, while they still count as the modified level. Empower a 7th level spell using an 8th level spell slot, it still counts as a 9th spell slot. Congratulations. :P 13th/15th level, and 9th level spell.
The joke is that powergamers (like me) use the feats and rules against their intended purpose. Thereby being far more powerful for their level than they should be. This feat makes them more powerful, as if they needed it.Last edited by Ralasha; 2011-09-22 at 06:51 PM.

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
No, I get that, I meant the name. It's a reference to something, or something, and "meta-meta-meta", but I don't know what it means.

Re: Rewarding the Power-Gamer (PEACH)
The text of the feat "With the power of cheapness" refers to a power-gamer's direct meddling and optimizing, not to your character's actual power. Therefore it is a "metagame" term, which can be shortened to "meta". (A metagame term is one that breaks the 4th wall of the game)
As for the name, "Superior Reality Bending", it just refers to how 9th level spells tend to bend reality (shapechange, miracle, time stop, wish, etc), and the feat makes them better at it.
