Housecats have animal intelligence. Creature's with animal intelligence can't take class levels.

It doesn't SPECIFICALLY state cats can't take class levels, and if you're a tibbit, you can, but those two specific instances say, if not directly, indirectly that cats can't take class levels.

Laura, that actually builds on something that's been in my mind for a while. Namely that, due to Tiny size and the same speed as a typical Medium-size character, squirrels would make awesome rogues.

There's several intelligent squirrel races, not all of which are evil. Kercpas? (hard to read the text) aren't in 3rd/3.5 ed, but Ratatosks (Expedition to the Demonweb Pits) are, and are Often CG. Skirurids (MM4) are from the Plane of Shadow and are Always NE.

Now, that's just splitting hairs. what it boils down to is really just, "Intelligent squirrels doing decidedly non-squirrel things."

Skiruids do squirrel things. They store nuts in trees for the winter.

Admittedly the nuts are made out of pieces of living souls which the skiruids consume for nourishment, but it's definitely squirrel-like.

I never said it was in exclusion of squirrel-like things. Just that these particular squirrels were doing things that squirrels are not known to do normally, regardless of other activities.

Most people see a half orc and and think barbarian warrior. Me on the other hand? I think secondary trap handler and magic item tester. Also I'm not allowed to trick the next level one wizard into starting a fist fight with a house cat no matter how annoying he is.

If I had to guess, from playing the game, the joke might be that when the game suggests you have a 70% chance, it means you might hit three out of ten times, because it tells dirty dirty lies.

    Hard to say, though.

That's it. It lies in every single game that offers a percentage onscreen for your chances to hit the enemy. Especially in Final Fantasy Tactics, the game that inspired the picture.

Ah, yes... video games... Where anything less than an 85% chance is actually a 0% chance... x.x I've played both Fallout and FFT, and I can attest to how painfully true this is.

For me, that's how it works for normal attacks. Good thing I never use normal attacks (my morphers are always ceurels, my trump card is an assassin/sniper with accuracy as a passive, use shadow pin->last breath from the back).
