Default [Exalted 2E, Solar Charm]Sun-Champion's Challenge

    SUN-CHAMPION'S CHALLENGE

Cost: 2m; Mins: Melee 5, Essence 3; Type: Reflexive
    Keywords: Combo-OK, Native, Obvious, Overdrive
    Duration: One Scene
    Prerequisite Charms: Solar Counterattack

The chosen warriors of the Unconquered Sun battle with honor and dignity. They need no dishonest trickery to win a fight - the power of their blade is enough to see them through.

Upon learning this charm, the Solar gains an Overdrive pool with a capacity of 10 motes. Initially empty, the Solar fills this pool by activating this charm and "marking" an opponent that has attacked the Solar this scene. So long as the foe is so marked (which is only a distinction in the Solar's mind, rather than a quality of the opponent), the Solar gains 1 offensive mote whenever he attacks him, up to one mote per tick. Additionally, whenever the marked foe attacks one of the Solar's allies, the Solar also gains one offensive mote, up to one mote per tick. Should the Solar defeat his foe, he is rewarded with (his Valor) offensive motes and this charm automatically deactivates.

However, these effects are dependent on the Solar's honor in battle. Should the Solar attack someone other than his marked target before he is defeated, or one of the Solar's allies attack his marked target, the Solar loses (his Valor) offensive motes from his pool, and this charm automatically deactivates. Moreover, the Solar cannot attack an opponent who he has not marked, lest this charm automatically deactivate and the Solar lose (his Valor) offensive motes from his pool.

Upon reaching Essence 4, this charm automatically upgrades, allowing the Solar to expend a temporary point of Willpower as a surcharge to mark up to (his Essence) opponents instead, so long as they have all attacked the Solar this scene or are part of a single group of which a member has done the same. Defeating one of these marked foes does not automatically terminate this charm unless there are no more marked foes remaining, and an ally attacking one of the marked foes only causes the charm to cease considering that foe no longer marked, unless that foe was the last remaining marked opponent, in which case the charm automatically deactivates. All mote gains and losses still occur, and should the Solar attack someone he has not marked, the whole charm is deactivated as described.

The name is "tonberrian", even when it begins a sentence. It's magic, I ain't gotta 'splain why.
