Pokemon Tabletop Adventures: Team Rocket

'You've gotta ask yourselves, whos better to look out for you? A boy who couldn't fight, or the future leader of Team Rocket? It's better for you to be my friend than my enemy. This is a one time chance Josh. You and your friends gonna take it? Or do you want to be my enemy? Tick Tock boys. Times running out.'

One of the kids pops his head out of the top of the dumpster.
"Why the hell won't you leave us alone! We're a bunch of kids trying to survive in this piece of sh*t city. Just leave us alone! We don't need you or anybody else!" he says, pulling the lid of the dumpster down.

'Just ask yourselves, would this have happened today if you had me to look out for you? To protect you? To help guide you up the ladder? I offered you a chance outta this hell hole and you threw it away.'

Ennis was quite emotional, she didn't handle rejection well, and between spooking off Sarah and not getting Mikes pokemon, this was turnong out to be a bad day for her.

'You're gonna die here kid. Wish you the best, your gonna need it.'

Ennis limps away, heading in the direction of the hospital. She casts one sad glance back in their direction, then leaves.

'Just ask yourselves, would this have happened today if you had me to look out for you? To protect you? To help guide you up the ladder? I offered you a chance outta this hell hole and you threw it away.'

Before you can leave you hear footsteps behind you and turn to see a kid running after you.

"Wait!" a kid shouts. "What would we have to do for you?"

'Just info. You feed me news, keep your ears to the ground, that kinda thing, y'know. No-one notices you kids. You keep what you steal, 100%. Someone messes with you and I'll sort them out. I'll even try and get you some pokemon once i join the Rockets. Then, one day, you'll join under me.'

The kid looks puzzled for a second as he thinks, most likely to find the catch. He must not be able to find one because a second later he shakes your hand.
"We'd be happy to."

Ennis nods her head in the direction of the hosptial and starts limping that way, obviously wanting the kid to follow her.

"You're getting food?" the kid asks, eyes wide in wonder. "The hospitals food is great," he says, walking behind you as if in a trance. "I'm Steven."

In no time you're at the Pokemon Center. The line is a little shorter than earlier.

While waiting in line, Ennis questions the kid.

'First thing, ... and if you don't know just say, your new to all this. First thing, have you seen or heard of a group called Team Magma round about here. They dress in red and look like idiots posing as super heros. They also use fire types and a dog just like mine. If they muscle in on this turf it's bad for the Rockets and bad for you. So I want to stop them.'

But no matter what, stay away from them. Keep yourselves safe. Don't put yourselves at risk just for me.'

Ennis pays to get seen to, and tells Steven they'll get food after she's patched up. She tries to keep a brave face on things for him.

"But yeah, we know to stay away from them. They don't like kids very much," he says, squirming uncomfortably. "We'll tell you what we find out. Mr. Lorna talks to them a lot, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head."
Soon enough a nurse comes in to patch you up. A few minutes later your foot is stitched and wrapped so that you can't possibly hurt yourself on it. The nurse charges you ^200 and then you're done with that.

Steven leads you to the food afterwards. A few sandwitches later you're this kids best friend.

"Hey, your Torus nearly killed my buddy here, my starter, and by how you were running you were a tad close as well. Maybe you should have better control of your 'mon." His fists tense up and Alpha growls from the caracas, walking over to his trainer, still growling at the aggressor.

"Doesn't change that it's dead now, does it? I'll be demanding some restitution. Either that or this gets personal," the man says, putting a hand on a Pokeball.

Miles walks over somewhat aggressivly. He stops 3 meters from the man, concious of his battered state. We were defending ourselves. It was self defense. I'm sorry he's dead but it was either us or him. Rawf stays at Miles legs staring at the man but making no move past Miles.

Miles scowls. He's supposed to take stranger's money, not the other way around. But he didn't have much options. They might out number him but if his pokemon are anywhere near as strong as that Tauros, he will overwhelm us. How much you want?. He speaks with venom dripping in his voice.

Damian scoffs and gives the guy a shove back. "And if we don't? I'd say you owe us for injuries. We could call it even, or things could get ugly." He taps the PokéGear and Sigma pops back out, crackling.

[Arcran]

"I want ^5,000. Either that or I'll let this get ugly," he says, dropping a Pokeball to the ground. A large cow comes out of it.

Ennis ruffles his hair, like she had seen other big sisters do.

'Listen, I sometimes get mad. I have trouble controlling my temper. So if I ever seem to get out of control just tell me 'Stop, Big Sis Ennis' or something like that. And tell your friends too. And I'm sorry about Mike. I just got that poocheyna and I couldn't control it properly. The grimer was my own fault, but I'm sorry about Mike. I truly am.'

Ennis seems to be tearing up a little. She looks away and wipes her eyes, not wanting the kid to notice. Yeah, she was lying about what happened, but she still felt bad about it.

'So i want you to yell at me and stop me if that happens again. We're family now, and family knows when to yell at each other for their own good.'

Damian just suddenly ignores the guy. "Sigma, you're glitching again. I really should send you online to go look for some better software." He says this as he applies a potion to him. Sigma stops cracklig and his behavior becomes more steady. Without turning around, he calls back to the guy, "How about you cut the cost of this Super Potion and their Center visit out of that cost. Like he said, it was self defense. We did not intend to kill it, but Sigma got a good hit and it collapsed. We're sorry that it died, but not for protecting ourselves."

"Spinarak, huh?"
He checks his wound quickly-more a scratch, really-and heads to town, to see if he can find someone to take the second one for a fee near the center.

That sounds fair to me. I'll gladly compensate you for your loss but your not the only one who lost something here.

"I'll make sure to warn you if you get out of control. Before I leave could I get some money? To buy food for everybody else?" he asks, a pleading look in his eyes.

After some searching you find a woman at the hospital who is talking with a kid. She seems like she may buy the Spinarak.

Eddie watches them and heads over.
"Excuse me miss, but I find myself in need of money for the center and a surplus of spinarak-wait...Ennis, right?"

"Miles, I'm leaving it up to you since you're a bit more level headed and I'm resisting the urge to do something stupid right now." Damian just points Alpha to Huntress and tells him to go play with her while they discuss this. "Honestly, I'd rather like to fight him, just for getting all pi**y about us putting down a dangerous Pokémon."

'Well hey there Eddie.' She pats the seat next to her.

'This kid has info on Team Magma, and I've just hired him to be my little informant. He could use a pokemon. Don't want our little ally getting hurt now do we?'

Ennis takes out her money, waving it infront of the both of them, rubbing it in.

'How much for this little Spinarak. Lets see it before I buy it, don't wanna get shafted, do I?'

'And feel free to ask Steven here any questions on Team Magma. He's proven very useful.'

[Eshkigal]

"I can sympathize. If this were home, I'd tell'em to ask Frank for work. Useful in my own fields too. If you want, I can get you some contacts that helped my life a whole lot better."
He pulls out a caught spinarak and three greatballs.
"Deal's simple. Help me with healing my team and he gets a spinarak and either I find three extra 'mon in the wilds when we have surplus or he gets three of my stock."

[IrnBruAddict]

'Sounds fair. You look after my little informant and I'll let you use him if need be. Just make sure to cut him a fair deal. And it would help getting pokemon for him and the other kids. Now lets go get you healed up. Want you ready for tonight.'

Ennis takes Steven by hand and leads him and Eddie to the reception to see how much this was going to set her back. She hoped she had some left to feed the kids.

[Arcran]

It comes to a total of 450 to heal Clamps and the Spinarak.

"Once we get a cash flow, they'll get a cut. Same deals I got at their age."
He walks with them, watching how Ennis interacts with the kid. She seems nicer than expected from a Rocket. Once they're done, he hands the healed spinarak off.
"Careful, these guys are a bit fragile, but can web things up pretty well."

'Now remember, no matter what happens, treat a pokemon with respect and care. They're more reliable than people any day of the week. Well, everyone 'cept me.'

She then leads them to a conveniance store where she spends $300 on food for him to take back to the others. Mostly things like crisps and buiscuits, things they wouldn't need to worry about storing or cooking. While there, she sends a telepathic message to Eddie.

'You tell either of the other two twerps about this and I'll cut off your big toes.'
