Also don't forget what NPCs have said about him. You won't necessarily remember dominating him, so he might have separate memory mojo, and he's a strigoi, so he might have other ways to compromise you.

In other words, paranoia is your friend.

Beer, possibly wine or cider as well. They grew grains (I believe primarily barley) and apples, and the wine trade was well established.

Whiskey (uisce beatha = "water of life") wouldn't have been available, though, since distillation wasn't known until ~100 A.D., and then only as an alchemical treatment. The first known distilled liquors were in China in the 12th Century A.D. There wasn't anything in Europe until the Middle Ages, when freeze distillation was discovered (very dangerous, since it also concentrates methanol), and then more modern distillation came around during the Renaissance.

Barley wine would have been the strongest thing they had.
