Weapon & Armor Proficiency
An Evangelist of Steel is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, all armors, and all shields.


Detect Opposition (Sp): At will, an Evangelist of Steel can detect the presence of an alignment opposed to his own on at least one of the two axis, as per detect good/evil/law/chaos spell

Divine Smite (Su): Once per day, an Evangelist of Steel may attempt to smite a creature of opposite alignment of at least one of the two axis. She adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her attack roll and his Evangelist of Steel class level to his damage. If she accidentally tries to smite a creature not opposed to his own alignment, the smite has no effect but the attempt is still wasted. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, an Evangelist of Steel may smite enemies one additional time per day.

Divine Channeling, Lesser(Su): Once per day, an Evangelist of Steel may invoke his deity to manifest a minor physical aspect of Her supernatural power. As a swift action, she may manifest a physical feature granting a special attack (horns, claws, gore…) of an outsider whose hit dices don’t exceed his Evangelist of Steel level. She may not select an outsider which alignment is opposed to her. This feature last one round, during which she may use it to deliver the special attack. Any additional effect of the attack still applies to this form of attack and the Evangelist of Steel uses her own modifiers to calculate the save DC (Constitution modifier is applied if the monster entry does not specify otherwise).
Every odd numbered level the Evangelist of Steel gain one additional use of this ability.
She may have only one of such feature active at a time.

Divine Grace (Su): At 2nd level, an Evangelist of Steel gain a bonus equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) to all her saving throws.

Lay on Hands (Su): At 2nd level, an Evangelist of Steel with a Charisma score of 12 or higher can heal wounds by touch. Each day she can heal a number of hit points equal her Evangelist of Steel level x her Charisma bonus, divided in any way she choose. Alternatively, with a touch attack, she can inflict equal amount of damage to creatures vulnerable to positive energy.

Aura of Courage (Su): At 3rd level, an Evangelist of Steel gain immunity to fear. Each ally between 10 feets from her gain a +4 morale bonus against fear.

Divine Health (Ex): At 3rd level, an Evangelist of Steel gain immunità to all disease, including supernatural and magic diseases.

Turn/Rebuke Undead (Su): At 4th level, an Evangelist of Steel may turn or rebuke undead as a cleric of three level lower would

Bonus Feats At 4th level and every four level thereafter, an Evangelist of Steel gains a bonus feat from the list of Fighter Bonus Feats or a Divine Feat. She must meet all prerequisites of any feat gained in this way except for ability score requirements.

Divine Channeling (Su): As Divine Channeling, lesser, except what’s noted here. The duration of this ability is 1 round/Cha bonus and the Evangelist of Steel may use it to make an extra attack as a free action any time she make a complete attack.
She applies a +2 competence bonus to any DC the special attack requires.
Alternatively, she can expend an immediate action to receive DR equal to her Evangelist of Steel level, or SR equal to 5 + her Evangelist of Steel level. This use lasts until the end of her next round.

Leadership (Ex): At 6th level the Evangelist of Steel receive Leadership as a bonus feat.

Divine Form, lesser (Su): Starting at 7th level, the Evangelist of Steel can once per day transform her body in a supernatural way. This ability works as Polymorph, except that she may transform only in outsider form and only if the outsider matches at least one component of her alignment.

[Divine Channeling, Greater (Su): This ability works as Divine Channeling, except that, in addition to the normal effect, the Evangelist of Steel can expend the duration of the ability to use a spell like ability of an outsider whose hit dices don’t exceed his Evangelist of Steel level. The save DC is Charisma based. Using this ability immediately ends the duration of the ability.

Word of the Lord (Ex): Starting at 11th level, once per day an Evangelist of Steel can pronounce a sacred oath to her divinity. The oath can be a single, defined task as kill an enemy of her church or a more complex, providing it can be done in a single day. Until the end of the day, the Evangelist of Steel receive a +4 sacred or profane bonus to a single characteristic. If she fails to fulfill the oath, however, she receive a -4 sacred or profane penalty to the same characteristic for an entire week.
This penalty cannot be removed in any way, except by a miracle cast by a cleric of the same deity.

Divine Form (Su): This ability works as Divine Form, except the Evangelist of Steel can aquire a single supernatural ability of the form she choose. If the supernatural ability grants a saving thron, the Evangelist of Steel uses her own modifiers to calculate the save DC (Constitution modifier is applied if the monster entry does not specify otherwise).

Leader of many (Ex): For the purpose of the Leadership feat, the Evangelist of Steel can select an additional cohort, which level is at least one lesser than the cohort she already has. Moreover, the number of followers she may attract is doubled.

[b]Combined Divine Channeling: (Su) At 15th level, the Evangelist of Steel may select two different abilities from Divine Channeling toh ave active at a time. When delivering a full attack, she can attack with both of them as a free action.

Divine Form, Greater (Su): Starting at 17th level, the Evangelist of Steel can use Shapechange once per day, but she can choose only outsiders whose alignment doesn’t oppose hers.

Visage of the Deity (Su): Starting at 18th level, an Evangelist of Steel is constantly surrounded of an effect similar to Visage of the Deity spell. She may suppress it as a standard action and activate it as a free action.

[B]Planeswalker (Sp): Once per day an Evangelist of Steel of 19th level can use a Gate spell for planar travel purposes only.

Avatar of the Deity (Ex): As Divine Form, Greater, but the effect is constant and it is an extraordinary ability

This is a work in progress.
The goal of this homebrew is push paladin up to tier 2, as planned here. I tried to reach this goal granting a bunch of outsiders-related powers and (kinda) polymorph before a sorcerer, a better polymorph at level 13 and shapechange powers. I'm still unsure about the level by level balance and overall mechanics. This is why I nead PEACH
