Re: City of Spires II
But if you're the master ninja you've got a disguise. Which is why the "I'm a villager, go ahead and scry me" defense doesn't work/looks sort of suspicious.

Re: City of Spires II
Then I'm not sure what you expect me to say. Really, any one of us could be the master ninja and Flea's seer wouldn't know because they can disguise themselves.
Thus, I'm really not certain how I'm supposed to defend myself, or how Flea can even suspect me as a ninja. How do you prove someone is a role that can disguise themselves?

Re: City of Spires II
But that's all it is, isn't it? Suspicion. Unless you have any evidence to implicate me over Dingdong.

Re: City of Spires II
Day 7 Ends
A man made his way off the boat and into the City of Spires.
"Well how do you do?" he said to the first person he met to which was replied, "Well, I don't do well when there are strangers about and none looks stranger than you!"
"What's so strange about a cheerful face? Why I've just found a place that'll do!"
Another person stepped up and said, "What can we do when people invade our good home?"
"Why lynch him and burn him and leave him to die for the crows to fight o'er and cry."
"Now hold on good sirs. You've no reason to act with haste, since I've broken no laws."
"A law's not enough when a law can't divide the righteous from the unjust!"
"Well at least show some proof of criminal intent so I know that you've chosen with cause."
"You strongly resemble someone that I knew who I'm sure is a ninja disguised!"
And so The mob crowded and so the crowd Grue into one solid voice to be heard.
"… I guess I can't argue when so many proclaim that I'm truly the one that's to blame!"
Summary:SpoilerThe Grue was lynched. He was the Double Agent follower of Tom the Mime. The Game Ends.

Re: City of Spires II
Did you enjoy the game?
Yup.
Did you like your role?
Yeah, though I hadn't realized it was as limited as it was.
Did you enjoy the narration?
Yup.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
Ramsus as Noble next time.
I think the noble followers on the last noble's team should be able to win as ninja. It means more opportunity for backstabbery and intrigue.
Would you play again?
Yup.
Elemental, why didn't you ever claim to IF? We almost killed you several times.Last edited by Ramsus; 2012-07-28 at 12:12 PM.

Re: City of Spires II
Yes to all.
I especially liked being an assassin; in my mind, I was the same character from the last game, left behind to watch over the city in Tilt's absence.
Though I would re-work the assassins a little bit to make them more neutral. I didn't see much incentive for them to work with the ninja.Awesome Lion Avatar by the wonderful Mr. Saturn. Thanks

Re: City of Spires II
Did you enjoy the game?
Yes, although bladescape and Penguinator not being as active makes the victory less impressive.
Did you enjoy your role?
Immune to night kills? Heck yes!
...once Ramsus stopped sounding like he was trying to win as ninja. I still can't believe he actually got Tom the Mime lynched on Day 1.
Did you enjoy the narrations?
Yes.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
Well I have suggestions to make it more complicated. Same thing, right?
More people could send in assassin kills; maybe every power role could send in an assassin kill; ninja, bodyguards, city seers, elves, nobles, everyone. They just need to survive to win and I think it would be fun to play up that neutrality.
I thought the nobles were sort of helpless once the bounty hunter died; their followers could scry and send assassin kills, but I didn't have any more actions. I'm thinking eliminating the bounty hunter role and giving control of the bounty to whichever noble has the most loyalty for the day would make the loyalty system more dynamic and the nobles more powerful.
Ramsus commented at some point that he wouldn't want to play as town in a game like this because they're pretty stuck following the Nobles. I'm wondering if they would have more fun if they could elect a Mayor by majority loyalty, with two votes but no special powers, who could be a nobility stand-in. That way they can lynch all the nobles and still win.
Maybe the Master Ninja should have some kind of recruitment power every third night or so. Ninja always seem to be outclassed.
EDIT:Yeah, if The Grue hadn't been the last ninja Elemental was totally dead tomorrow.Last edited by Internet Flea; 2012-07-28 at 01:17 PM.

Re: City of Spires II
Thank you all very much for playing. I hope it was fun! Please tell me what you think:
Did you enjoy the game?
Yes! This was fun. I decided to try the old 'if it were really me I wouldn't make it so obvious' defence, which doesn't often work, but I've been playing kinda crazy in my games lately.
Did you like your role?
I did! My protection role was fun if passive, and the assassination targeting was interesting.I didn't do it nearly s much as I could have, which I guess is good.
Did you enjoy the narration?
Definitely. The narrations were really well-done.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
Not really. I didn't give this game as much thought as I ought to have. I liked that it was more complex in play than it seemed.
Would you play again?
Yes, definitely. Tons of fun.Gnomish Decker by me! You can find more of my work here!!! Also, my Tumblr, if you're into that

Re: City of Spires II
Did you enjoy the game?
I wish I'd have gotten to play it. But I got killed for being a role I wasn't aware of, so that's always fun. (No, I'm serious. I got a good laugh out of it.)
Did you like your role?
I wish I'd gotten to use it, it was a great role...
Did you enjoy the narration?
I haven't had the time to read them...
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
Uh... no power outs. Personal QTs, maybe. My PM box is always nearly full, so it would help me out, if no one else.
Would you play again?
Indeed.

Re: City of Spires II
Did you enjoy the game?
Yes. The little I was in.
Did you like your role?
Have no idea. Elf does little...
Did you enjoy the narration?
Yep. Got me more interested in joining, actually.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
I join during recruitment this time.
Would you play again?
Yes. For real this time.

Re: City of Spires II
Did you enjoy the game?
Yes. Though being a normal human made it slightly dull... Serves me right for renouncing my throne the last game.
Did you like your role?
What role?
Did you enjoy the narration?
Yeah they were fun.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
Find a way to give more power to the villagers? At this point they're between a rock (nobles) and a hard place (ninja's)
Would you play again?
Definitely! Maybe in the next one it's time for Lord Tiger to rise again?
On another note. In my mind I was the fallen noble trying to survive without his servants for a change... Looks like my previous life of intrigue paid off (with a lot of luck to back it up) as it seems I am the only villager to survive. (barely)Last edited by TigerFang; 2012-07-28 at 03:27 PM.

Re: City of Spires II
Did you enjoy the game?
Indeed I did.
Did you like your role?
It was quite enjoyable. Going around, killing people in the night...
Did you enjoy the narration?
It was quite entertaining.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the game?
The Nobles needed to ask for more people to die. It seemed like half the nights I had nothing to do.
Would you play again?
At the drop of a hat.
