Rate The Avatar VIII: Mastery Of All Four Elements Optional
The idea is simple. You give the previous poster's avatar a rating based on whatever factors you think of. Generally, it's on a scale of 1-10, but any scale is fine.
Since the white space's avatar doesn't exist, I have to give it an i/10.
@V: Thanks! This current one is Tedd Verres from El Goonish Shive, but in pony form.Last edited by PurityIcekiller; 2012-08-11 at 01:13 AM.

Your avatar is all kinds of amazing. I don't really understand what's going on with it, but solid 10/10 nevertheless.

Re: Rate The Avatar VIII: Mastery Of All Four Elements Optional
Hmm... the lines are a bit thick for my tastes. The face is set a little bit too low. The eyebrow is crooked. It gets cluttered a little by the avatar's right arm, and his left arm looks really long by comparison.
But, you know, solid.

Very nice! Smooth quality, and a fun concept. The only real problem I can see is that the purple glow looks kind of strange. 8/10.

Re: Rate The Avatar VIII: Mastery Of All Four Elements Optional
Can't say the same about yours, unfortunately. :/
I'm not a fan of the generic, soulless looking pony-maker ponytars in general (they just lack the same sort of character that custom drawn ones do), but this one in particular looks like you went a little crazy with the costume pieces.
No avatar needs eight identical legbands. The black and red skin doesn't help much either - it breaks up the entire avatar and makes it look blurry and broken. Trying to focus on any one part of it is like ripping my eyes out of my skull, sticking them in a centrifuge and then trying to pin the tail on a heavily inbred donkey after taking about 15 shots of tequila.
1/5, because as terrible as it is, it could be worse.Last edited by Ashen Lilies; 2012-08-07 at 11:26 AM.

You amaze me as always, Kris. *highfive*
The left hand (closest to the post) just looks a little wonky.

{table="head"]The Avatar
[/table]
Hm, I quite like the technique behind the avatar but have a hard time seeing what it is doing. I see a potted cactus in one hand, probably tying in to the desert theme-week but why it is where it is is a mystery to me. The sword is situated either on the tip of her fingers making it a "slightly" awkward grasp or it is hanging at her belt. If it is the latter I'd have turned it in the other direction and/or put it behind her with only the hilt visible, as it is now it seem to go cross with the direction of the character as a whole.
But it is quite pleasing to look at if I don't concentrate too much.

Re: Rate The Avatar VIII: Mastery Of All Four Elements Optional
Nice ponytar. I don't really know what's going on in it. Did the pony fall down and now is all embarrassed? Akrim.elf makes pretty good work.
The proportions look pretty good and I love the eyes. The coloring is pretty excellent. The one place where the avatar falls short is the mane and tail, the hair just looks flat [heh]. It's pretty nice regardless.
Let's give it a... 7/10Gnomish Decker by me! You can find more of my work here!!! Also, my Tumblr, if you're into that

Re: Rate The Avatar VIII: Mastery Of All Four Elements Optional
Ooooh, It's Gnomish! When are you gonna respond to my request?
The hat's perspective is very nice, I like the work with shadows. The head is well proportioned for a gnome, and the hair is spectacular.
The arms bother me, like they're elongated ears or something. Maybe lower them a bit?
The jacket is quite nice. The details are a little small and hard to see, but still, amazing!
The shoes are a little wonky, but very good!
All in all, a solid 9/10.SpoilerThis is the thief who likes to hoard,

Re: Rate The Avatar VIII: Mastery Of All Four Elements Optional
tangental note: you'll want to take note of the three-post rule as a courtesy to others.
However, the avvie:
I like the avvie's attitude, there's an untold story behind that character. Art-wise, nothing particularly stands out, good OR bad. I've seen much better avvies, but I've seen ones a LOT worse (such as my hastily-thrown together crap).
I'll give you an above-average 7/10Much thanks to Ceika for the poketar!
