Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
Ah, so it is. And nice to see that Tarquin is honouring his promise to Malack and not going all out against Durkon.
Also, I approve of Thor's litany there..."Not trusting me might be the smartest decision you made since getting off of your horse."

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
If this is Durkon's time, it is not Malack or Tarquin who shall deliver the blow.
And I liked Tarquin's retort."They couldn't know that the points from the mainline to the siding were frozen, and the signal should have been set at 'DANGER', but snow had forced it down."

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
Great comic! I loved the cleavage of the ponytail.
KilKil: paralyzed it seems.
Qarr: gone, apparently voluntarily.
Sabine: banished for 24 hours.
Zzditri: overwhelmed by a volley of arrows and playing defense for the moment.
Malack is left on his own to figure out how to get back with the party, is he able to get through the stone surrounding the doorway?
Tarquin has stopped fighting Durkon to respect Malack's wishes.
Nale and Belkar are still presumably fighting each other.
Roy cleaves the mummies in twain.
That leaves Elan and Mr. Scruffy unaccounted for (other than V and the bird of course). What will Tarquin do now? Help his son or go one on one v Roy?Last edited by RustyVenture; 2012-08-27 at 04:22 PM.

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
That's a nice view of Roy's Cleavage there.
I wonder what exactly triggers the green energy? A critical hit, or Roy's own emotions?

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
IIRC it also appeared when he was fighting Sabine in Cliffport.
Edit: It did. Looks like its activated by his emotions...Last edited by Antonok; 2012-08-27 at 04:24 PM.

Roy's attack there looks a lot like Link's spin attack, with the whole energy thing, and all
Great comic, as always.

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
Awesome panel with Roy at the end, and it seems like Tarquin's making good on his promise to hold back.
Also, I'm still thinking that the mummies were foreshadowing with their echos. So who needs to knock on what for safety?Last edited by CoffeeIncluded; 2012-08-27 at 04:25 PM.

So cool to get to see Roy finally putting that +5 Greatsword of Undead Kersploding to such effective use.

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
Roland is actually correct. Starmetal does deal additional damage to outsiders on the material plane.
Which brings up the question:
Additionally, now that I've thought about it. Roy has a +5 effective adamantine sword that deals extra damage to things... nice sword.Last edited by Antonok; 2012-08-27 at 04:37 PM.

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
So Roy just great-cleaved through 5 mummies. That is Awesome!!!
If only there were an evil side that depended heavily on the undead for him to unleash this against later in the story . . .I gave up fighting, and stabbing and bludgeoning and stealing and bar-brawls and wenches . . . and it was the worst 10 rounds of my life - Jerry the Country & Western Bard.
WHY ISN'T HE JOLLY???

Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
Great strip as always. Totally cracked up at the end when I realized what the title meant.
I'm really wondering what's going on with V. And i'm really hoping that Elan gets his plan he mentioned for beating Tarquin in soon (it came up a few strips into the Windy Canyon.)

Spoiler"The really unforgivable acts are committed by calm men in beautiful green silk rooms, who deal death wholesale, by the shipload, without lust, or anger, or desire, or any redeeming emotion to excuse them but cold fear of some pretended future. Re: OOTS #861 - The Discussion Thread
Interesting that Tarqin just used subdual damage on the dwarf rather than take him out completely. Seems like he can take most of the party by himself, impressive.

I believe that the closest rules-explanation we can get for the Green-Flashy-Thingy right now is "XdY Extra Damage on Critical Hits".
Also, great comic. I'm happy to see Tarquin honoring his promise.
