Theme for my New Campaign
I've seen a few threads like this, and I thought I could use the wisdom of the playground to help with my campaign too. I need a theme for the party of my campaign, to play whenever they do something really badass and at the beginning of each session. I'd like it to fit the theme of the party and the campaign to a degree.
For the description, the players are a band of Martial characters that are going around finding the last dragon eggs in the world to hatch them and take over the world. The music would preferably be something driving that can be used to pump players up for epic moments and also for the game starting. I use Two Steps From Hell for my soundtrack in the rest of the game, and I've come up with a few ideas to get a general idea of the feel of it. I'd prefer instrumental stuff, but if the song is really amazing, lyrics are fine.
So far I've come up with:
Jump by Two Steps From Hell
Eternal Honor from the same album
Strength of a Thousand Men by (you guessed it) Two Steps from Hell.
Looking forward to listening to your suggestions.Awesome Lizardfolk Shaman Avatar by KillItWithFire

Re: Theme for my New Campaign
OK, a few more from Two Steps From Hell (hope you don't mind):
3 classics that get posted a lot.
To Glory- One of the most known tracks, easily my favorite, gets the blood pumping.
United we stand, divided we fall- A bit more fast paced, I think it fits desperate moments more. i love the vocals in the middle.
Heart of Courage- More slow going, but quite uplifting. might go well for either a start music or at a long epic fight.
Note that I put the 3 tracks in my own little songs list (along with a few other songs). It served for the epic last fight of a campaign- My players loved it!
Current opening song of a pirate campaign:
Sky titans- fast paced, feels like the opening music to a Disney action film.
A few others?
Battle music mix- Lovely start, reasonably paced rock/ metal, with some Latin at times in the background. Might fit if the characters are part of an order or if there are religious/ old themes.
Another fight mix- very fast paced, again Latin in the background, fairly long for most tracks- about 14 minutes.
Within Temptation have some great music that might or might not fit the theme of your campaign, I do suggest to check them out. Here is an example I use for desperate fights.

Some themes I think I could mention at least as points of reference:
Anvil of Crom (Duh!), Why So Serious? (by Hans Zimmer), Sahti Waari (by Turisas), Dragon (by Kiyoshi Yoshida), Kaji Wo Tore (by Susumu Hirasawa). In a war it doesn't matter who's right, only who's left.

Thanks for your suggestions. Don't know how I missed To Glory, I think I'll use that.

Flight of the Valkyries.
William Tell Overture.
Also Sprach Zarathustra.
Lord of the Rings Main Theme.
And then break the mood entirely with What's Opera, Doc.
And my wife points out that you'll need this.Last edited by Jay R; 2012-08-31 at 11:08 PM.
