    Default A new spell

How does this spell look to you guys:
    Spoiler
    Show
    Brendan's Useful Tool
    Transmutation
    Level: Wizard 1
    Components: V, S
    Casting Time: 1 minute
    Range: Close (25 ft. + 5ft./2 levels)
Target: 1 cubic ft./ level of nonliving solid matter.
    Duration: 10 minutes/level

This spell uses various loose things, within the spell's area of effect,
into the desired shape. This shape apears to be made of the glued together
things you used to make it. It can be made of anything fine size or smaller,
such as rocks, shells, leafs, small sticks, etc. If damage done
to the object in battle is greater than or equal to its hit points, the
spell ends, and it crumbles. Outside of battle, if it takes the damage, it
crumbles as well. When the spell ends. When the spell ends normally, the
object crumbles into dust, falling into a small pile, or as the wind directs.
The quality of the item rolls to determine quality.

I like it. Needs some copyediting, and probably a Craft check for complex shapes (like fabricate). Also, it's not obvious how many hit points the constructed shape has, or how effective it is for e.g. making a wrench.

    Suggested adjustment:
This spell gathers together loose materials into a desired shape, conglomerating them securely for the duration. Usable materials can include any object Fine or smaller, such as rocks, shells, leafs, small sticks, etc. Complex shapes or fine craftsmanship require an appropriate Craft check, or the spell fails. The constructed shape is sturdy enough for most purposes, but if used for tasks that require Str checks, it breaks on check results of over 20 and the spell ends.

It's possible you need to crank the level up to 2; a transient fabricate, even with a few extra limitations, is quite useful.

The tool created has hardness 0 and hit points equal to your caster level (max 5). Such a tool is never considered masterwork.

Limit it to 1 min/level (max 5 minutes).

Something should definitely be added regarding hardness and hit points. Otherwise it's going to be kind of difficult to determine the hardness of something made of equal parts dirt, pebbles, and pine needles.

The original spell stated the items appeared to be glued together. The magical glue is the weakest link, even if the entire thing was made of rocks.
