So in 667, V first puts zir hair up into a ponytail. But look at that hairband - it's really large. And the same color as V's old circlet thing. I'd always assumed the circlet was gold or something, but was it in fact a cloth band that zie's been putting up zir hair with all this time?

I noticed these threads are very random. It would be nice if someone could capture all these comments and assemble the various points strip by strip. I think it would require a wiki however, as there are too many comments to include everything pointed out.

My take on this is that the circlet IS gold, just not solid gold; it's rather a chain, like for a pendant, and can thus be easily used to knot a ponytail. And yes, V used the circlet to this end.

That would make a fair amount of sense, though it's have to be just the right size or else you'd end up with awkward slack. (In my experience, anyway, though it's been a long time since I've had long enough hair for a ponytail.)

On an unrelated note, Xykon calls Redcloak Green Genes in 543. I never caught that.

Plus it would get confusing if different parts of different strips refer to different parts of other strips.

And it would make it easier to deride personal giddiness with "somebody else beat you to that" and unofficially require them to read entire threads just in case, and then we would only get each memorable moment one time.
A game is a fictional construct created for the sake of the players, not the other way around. If you have a question "How do I keep X from happening at my table," and you feel that the out-of-game answer "Talk the the other people at your table" won't help, then the in-game answers "Remove mechanics A, B, and/or C, impose mechanics L, M, and/or N" will not help either.

It seems like you mean awkward slack in the hair, but no, the slack could be in the tie, which can just be wrapped around repeatedly to compensate.

No, I mean in the tie. Have you ever tried to do a ponytail with an inflexible hair tie and wound up with a loop of material that's just too small for one last loop, but leaves you with a really really loose ponytail if you don't try to wrap the final loop? That's the type of thing I'm talking about.

Yes, although my hair is short now. In theory the headband can unclasp, and that's a problem with closed loops, but we may be thinking about it more than the author did :)

You have to read into the subtext, man! You can't just read Order of the Stick, you have to read into it. Don't tell me you managed to miss the tragic inner monologue of Roy's guilt over his ability to protect his family in that comic, too.

I just noticed that one of the IFCC directors says "Our slogan is 'Blood war, huh, who is it good for?'" and another says "Good gods, y'all!" which is in keeping with the song parody, but is also a DIRECT ANSWER TO THE QUESTION!
