On the subject of the future of Platypi, adding a fez is too boring... and doesn't fit with the stereotype of Australia being horrifyingly fatal to everything- I suggest Platypyromaniacs.

Everything is improved once it wears a fez. However, it would be even better to get the platypus an ushanka, preferably one with a red star on it. The only way to make Australian wildlife more dangerous is to make them Soviet.

edit: In other news, it is now finals week. The time to write ten pages of take home exams is at hand. I must brace myself for the battle.

And yet, dragons have magical chromosomes that allow them to hybridize with basically any species. You do not need my science, you only need to get a dragon and your favourite kind of dog stinko enough together to make a mess.

And on that note comes a vaguely-relevant request for help.
EDIT: Relevant to the post before the one before mine. Ninjas.
I managed to get my dad to give one of the Zelda games a good try. I'd narrowed it down to the 3D ones, and not SS because it just doesn't feel like an entry point to the franchise.

He said "the newest" as a tiebreaker because "newer is usually better", which would mean TP. On the other hand, OoT was an entry point for so many people it just feels right.

    Help?

I haven't played Zelda apart from the original, when Nintendo re-released a bunch on SNES games for GBA. If I was going to start (as I plan to one day) I would start with Ocarina of Time.

Ocarina of Time is awesome, and I've heard things about Twilight Princess being confusing (I doubt these stories, but I present them to you anyway).

Ocarina of Time, definitely. Twilight Princess is more of a sequelly sort of game to me.

Twelve Gods I feel like such a hipster whenever I realize that I'm a generation ahead of all of my peers when it comes to video game exposure. x,x My first final fantasy was on the Super Nintendo, whereas even the older women I've dated it was always 7. Actually, I have to admit, I've played all of them but 7 and the MMORPGER mostly because all of the women I've had to deal with in my personal life and the sheer amount of yaoi TMI I had to deal with from them about FF7.

Ushankas are great, are they not? I have one made of sheepskin that is so warm that I can usually wear it along with a t shirt outside during the winter. It's like a big Russian bear is hugging my head, only it's made out of sheep.

Perhaps we should get 1,000lbs of flaming budgies instead? But like, the little ones? So then they shall fear our great power. (note to mods - not meaning to break animal cruelty rule. Just having some fun <3)

I don't think budgies (even ones that were on fire) would make a very good counterweight. Hrm... titanium's a bit expensive... I might just go with steel.

Why not carbon nanotubes? Double the strength of titanium but twice as cheap.

You feel free to ship them here. I also doubt their cheapness.

Plus, the throwing arm needs to have some weight on it, and carbon nanotubes are pretty light.

Lead or concrete would be good. Both are fairly cheap, and quite heavy. Alternatively, hire a bunch of sumo wrestlers to act as a counterweight.

We actually have the counterweights (two 500lb metal... weights), it's the throwing arm that we need to get. The last trebuchet had a wooden throwing arm, and it was structurally pretty weak, so we need to make it out of something stronger.

I don't know if lead would work well for the throwing arm or not... lead's kind of soft.

Wouldn't steel work fine? Or is that not enough?
